I mean, why annoy them on ONE theme when you can get them on two.

So, Ms. Aliza Moreau was born.

Long after his work was first published, some still believe that Dr. Moreau was just a fictional character. Aliza, the doctor's final test subject and pupil is a testament to the truth. For more than a century she's continued her mentor's work, advancing it through modern genetics and nanotechnology. Keen on fieldwork and untrusting of others, the adventuress was rarely seen without her portable radium- powered field pack, and vintage sidearms. (Although she embraces all aspects of modern science (except ethics) she shows great disdain for modern style... explaining that she prefers a more traditional aesthetic. Some speculate that the training used in her creation may have programmed this into her.)

As to her timelessness, Eliza has always suggested that her longevity may be a by-product of her creation... but for decades rumors spread of dark labs full of with unwilling subjects genetically transformed, purged of all thought, and prepared eventually be vessels for her psyche. She has never directly denied that accusation.

Most thought Ms. Moreau dead during the Hamidon wars- she only recently appeared in Praetora with stories of a grueling cross-continent journey. She now works to rebuild her lost laboratories in this flawed utopia and perhaps earn a place of prominence. If Neuron's their greatest scientific mind they have to offer, after all, it can't be too hard...
Awesome! If you're on Virtue I have a SG for you. Haha.

Anyway. There's not much point in snagging such an obviously out of bounds name, if you can never play it for fear you'll be caught.
    Agreed on all counts.

Besides, a 30 second Google search shows me that name belongs to a DC character (albeit a minor one). If you ever did get it, you wouldn't keep it, the only reason it isn't on the list of names locked out due to copyright, is it is on an inactive character that hasn't been used since before they started the list.
That's not necessarily true but the end result is close enough. There are plenty of names held by Marvel, DC and others that are not on the blocked list for some reason and should be since they get changed each time someone tries their hands at it. So it may not end up on the blocked list and at that point all you can do is just hold it if you get lucky enough to snag it because if you log on and play with it, someone will likely report it for the sake of it and it'll get taken from you (and yes, you can often times just grab it again if you're quick enough). There's been plenty of names that has happened to on Virtue this past month.

Of course it COULD be added to the block list as soon as it's let go by the Trial account but that's a maybe, not a guarantee.

Costume Change emote: I'd really love to see an costume change, that many of the /Storm Summoning users have used in the past.

The activation sequence of Steamy Mist would make a great costume changer. The character lifts his hand and is engulfed by a cloud of Mist. The Mist disspates and the character wears his new outfit.
This would be great. I've used it I don't know how many times with my Storm Dragon. Hehe
  7. Actually.. I'd say maybe the Ghost Aura is a good place for new Eye Aura that behaved like Thunderhead or Sparks sans the lightning and sparks. It has a Head Aura already but nothing really going on for the Eyes. Perhaps make it a little more flickering like say.. a Jack O'Lantern? /dreams

Also a bit of feedback on the new Path Auras - I love them, but they do make the case stronger for dual color auras. In particular the Cloud with Lightning aura, much like the Thunderhead aura does. Just one more request for that tech one day!

I'd like to see Fireworks CC Aura have more Fireworks involved.

I'd like to see the Rainbow Path Aura be made into a set of normal Auras too. Even with the restriction of not being able to recolor it, I'd really enjoy that for my light spectrum/rainbow based concepts. So maybe having it in as many categories as the normal, older Glow Aura?

I reallllly love the binary Aura. Looks like what I and others requested with that Data Stream aura. I think it'd be nice to add as a CC aura as well - a big flash of the Binary data stream and the costume is changed. One day if we get travel power customization I'd like to see that for Teleport as well!

On the subject of eye auras, Goblin Queen (sorry, I can't find your post, but I've read it) has asked for eye glows that don't clip with hats. This can be a little tricky, since the tech that would usually push the glows in front of a hat's brim also pushes them behind the back of the head, when the character is viewed from the back.

Creating a very small eye aura may be the answer to both of your dilemmas, however. I'll keep it in mind for future auras.
    Hey TR!

Here's my original post about the eye aura and hats:

The newer Sparks and Thunderhead auras are *almost* it! The reason why they are: the glow does not spread above the rim of the hat in or out of combat mode like almost all other new or old eye glows do (I checked). Of course the problem is they are very specific and either shoot sparks or shoot lightning bolts therefor they are of specific use/theme.

I'd really love to see a new Eye glow aura that behaves like Sparks and Thunderhead but without the bits that jump out of the eye area. Basically just a pulsing glow.

The pictures below show how Fireflies and every other eye glow besides Sparks and Thunderhead behave. The glow color is set to one of the brightest settings available to illustrate how the two lower eye glows don't bleed through the hat rim even at that setting. I timed the screenshots to not show the sparks or electricity but they of course activate every couple seconds or so normally.

The thing is, we already do have eye auras that don't clip with hats. I LOVE how the Thunderhead and Spark Eye Auras behave with hats and hoods but they have stuff flying out of the eye sockets sporadically which don't fit the needs of just a nice eye glow that doesn't clip with hats and hoods.

In an ideal solution, we'd have either a Thunderhead or Sparks option sans lightning or spark OR a new Eye Glow Aura that behaved similarly to them added to Glow Aura or a new category.

A long time ago I posted about the Infected eye glows as an option. I think these are built into the NPC art but if a small glow like this was added, then it'd be cool.

Honestly, I'd like both options of course. Hehe

Thanks for reading the other eye post and this one!
  9. My character, Hecate, who is a goddess of witches (in some myths) uses Dark/Psi/Elec powers as a Defender. Of course she's a goddess of darkness too so it made since to use that power choice.

I was kind of basing a bit of it off the Croatoa witches too so that's why I picked up /Elec as my Epic Pool.

    Free the names!

If nothing else, I'd really be down for a name purge on accounts that don't have @globals.
  11. Love the new piece for CR! I just watched Predators and got 2 hours of Adrian burned into the retina. You did a great job using him as a reference for the dashing vampire.

I want that Mystic Overseer. I was thinking how cool it would be to have that be my Librarian! Heh. Was just searching for it on the forums to see what the deal was with it.

But very cool snag! I got one from him a little bit ago... Not sure if I posted it here or not... I really should check.
There's some ink shading, I suppose I mean to say that I want GQ herself colored green and maybe the goblin hands a bit darker green as well.

Yah, I saw yours in his gallery. It came out nice!
  14. Here is the other free piece. Unlike Naldridge, Dailypogues is still doing a sketch a day so if you're interested, stop by and sound off for your OC to get some work done!

I found this artist via the Battle Artists Killer Croc contest as well.

Matthew made this piece based off of the old Janet Jackson Rolling Stones cover. I wish I had thought of doing that, it's a perfect fit for GQ! I really like what he did here, so much in fact, I'm definitely going to have to have it colored.

You can find his sign up list for his daily sketches here: http://dailypogues.deviantart.com/journal/37433319/
  15. Here is the first of the free pieces. I found Naldridge through the Battle Artists challenge for Killer Croc. I really wasn't expecting such great work when I signed up for Naldridge's temporary free request thread. I think he's charging now but the prices are very reasonable!

I love the vibrant colors and the details in general. The face is very different than other takes on GQ and I like it as a variation of the norm. Seems more elvish to me this time around due to the length of the face. Very cool!
  16. Hey all! It's been a while since I've posted because finances are bad and I stopped doing commissions. However, I do have three new pieces to show. One was an old commission that was completed recently (which I had forgotten about so it seems free!) and then the other two are freebies.

I will be doing a commission for the 4th of July because of my goal to get major holiday pieces for Goblin Queen this year.

Here is the first one. Many, many moons ago I had done a very cheap (cost wise) commission for Goblin Queen from GravijaSunrise. It took a long while to get it and when I did, there were a few things that needed adjustment. The artist was fine in making the changes but that's when I lost contact and forgot about them since it took even longer for those changes to be completed. In truth, I thought they were just not going to do them so I wrote it off as a loss. Much to my surprise, much later, we have the adjusted Goblin Queen.

The things I enjoy about this are the expression and the details of the armor. She looks much younger here and a bit petulant! I like it!
  17. Very nice! Sexy gothic!

    SG ranks

Good to know, thanks for the info!
  19. Goblin_Queen

    SG ranks

    Hey all,

I had a question about rank permissions.

I'm the founder of a SG and the way this particular SG is set up, I was thinking of having an initiate rank that didn't have all the rights of a normal member until they did X amount of things/X amount of time/etc. The other four ranks were groupings according to RP concept of the SG (Occultists, Scientists, etc.) so that they were all equal but covered certain origins and themes.

That leaves just one rank as Leader and that seems to be the Super Leader? My question is, if I promote the other Leaders that are a tier below that Super Leader mark, are there security concerns with a potential demoting or removal of the original character that founded the SG?

Not that I don't trust the guys and gals in the Leader spots, it's just that you never know who can get hold of someone's character and cause havoc.

    Thanks!
  20. Yay! Happy Birthday! Sorry I'm a day late!
