Ok, so I log on today on one of my characters, the second hes in world he gets spammed with earning every vet badge up to a year. I tested this on other toons I have and it seems only one is hit with this, all others do not get these badges upon login (and my account is barely 3 months old) Anybody else experiencing this?

Quote:one of those days? dude, it took me about 5 minutes and about 50 mapserves later just to get to the base portal to get the heck out. lol...If your on freedom, redside...dont go to shark just now..its having one of those days. Mapserver is dc'ing every 10 seconds
This latest patch tho... I've been crashing a heck of alot more often and odd things are happening around the CoX world. I think the devs need to take another look at this "patch" they put in and see just whats goin on. -
I just had CoX close on me with a error message,
"You have been forcibly disconnected, Mapserver is shutting down"
Any reason why this has happened? -
No typos, yes I was able to defeat him alone.... After about a half hour of punching him in the gut. 75% accuracy doesn't mean nothing when the hits still come down to a roll of the dice.

Quote:Well currently however I tend to use the AE to put my build up against several minions, bosses and AV's to always see what takes the most work and what needs improved, Accuracy is a big thing with some of it but its still doableWhat I read was the part where you six-slotted RTTC with Heal SOs. I assumed from this that you were a new player who didn't know how Enhancement Diversification scales work. I stand corrected: you are a veteran player who doesn't know how ED scales work, or doesn't care. I'm not sure whether this reflects better or worse upon you.
But now I'm being baited into a fight I'm really not interested in.
Regarding the actual topic at hand: Scaling endurance costs to normalize DPE seems like a good idea, as does improving Brawl. Reducing the recharge of Rest, due to its many other limitations, wouldn't obviate other HP/End recovery tools; as others have said, past a certain point, just activating Rest is enough of a drag that you'd rather use the other tools available to you.
I've become used to the endurance issues of tanks before SOs, but I have found them offputting. On the other hand, my first character was a Tank and I played her mostly solo, so I never knew how bad off I was and consequently was never bothered.
(the arc is not published in the AE nor will it ever be, its set to 50-54 with all Characters within set on Medium difficulty, I've been thinking of setting it to hard just to see if I can handle it.) -
Quote:I honestly got nothin much to learn, and I being one who has been around for awhile and just recently started using the forums do know quite a bit about how builds should be made. The ritki Dropship I did not say I destroyed, Nor did I say it could not kill me, I said I took 10 good blasts from it. You read too much into a post in a vain attempt to troll it.The first 3 SOs get you to 95% enhancement. The second three SOs, due to the diminishing returns curve, get you another 5%. Further, RTTC does not do anything against incoming damage; it boosts your regeneration rate, proportional to the number of enemies within its aura - and when chasing down a dropship, you have at most one enemy boosting RTTC.
It would be wrong to say that this conversation is above your level, because it is precisely at your level that any changes intended to improve the new player experience should be aimed. Just be aware that, based on what you have said so far, there are many things you have yet to learn. -
They are credible cause its happened, several times where I would even miss a level 10 3 times in a row. Accuracy needs a tweaking. and I just recently got fly, so sometimes I could hit the ship. other times I was chasing it down. Rise to the Challenge is a good skill (especially when fully 6-slotted with SO's of nothing but heals.) so Yeah, I can take some major hits and keep on movin.

Quote:Dial-up FTW! lol, I use Sprint Phone-as-modem to get online so I feel yah pain.I simply blocked it with the Adblock extension. As pretty as it is I simply don't need yet another 300+KB image downloaded while I wait. The previous forum's header was flash and that was simple enough to block automatically with Flashblock, another Firefox extension I run with due to my dial-up connection.

Quote:Original Heroes SG On Freedom, CONTENT ONLY. Caught doing a farm or asking for one and yer butt is back on the sidewalk. Should look us up.CoX is a pretty cool game. I mean from EQ1 to Champions Online it's about getting mission/quest and going and killing/gathering. So every game is pretty much the same, it is all about what genre you like to play in.
Howevah....
I keep coming back to CoX because you can ALWAYS get a team. You see I do not like to solo. To me it is boring. Whether I am soloing with my LM on LOTRO or my first female character ever....my night elf hunter on WoW.....I find soloing boring.

****edited in.
Oh, I forgot to apologize for bringing this up again because this is the kind of topic that may have been hashed and re-hashed several times before.
Humor me. -
Quote:I run with a WP/SS Tank on freedom, I barely have any issues and so far I was able to take about 10 direct blasts from the Ritki ships that showed up in SC yesterday on Freedom and get a couple good hits in before it ended up moving faster than I could catch up with it. I rarely run out of endurance and if I do start I just use my jab over and over till my end builds back up then go all out again. How many times do we see new Tankers (and new players) come up here and say something along the lines of "I'm trying a Tanker out and I'm always running out of endurance. Does it get any better?"
This has been an age old problem since the early days of beta. How many subscribing customers have to get frustrated and lose the love for the game before this issue is addressed.
Specifically the L1-20 portion of levelling. This applies to almost all ATs hero and villain side, but especially to Tankers who run dry *really* quickly.
Suggested Fixed: Do away with TOs and DOs and make SOs available at L1. This would alleviate much of the frustration and tedium that is the current mode of play in the L1-20 game (imo).
But yeah, we have GARBAGE for accuracy...
I'm currently level 26 right now, and was able to hit (every time with no inspirations) a level 33 lieu over and over till he was dead (the xp gain... 114xp wtf?) but yet when I attack something my level I have about a 60-70% miss rate (thank you herostats) and its just pathetic, even with 3 slots a piece of just SO Accuracy I still miss like crazy. -
Theres a reason they switched to Vbulletin...

I'll be adding more later today when I have the time, just haven't been happy with some designs lately. -
Here I will be posting My costume designs, along with screenshots and links to the .costume files (in text so you have to make the file yourself in your c:\program files\City of Heroes\costumes folder)
First up,
The Brain Bug

Required Boosters,
Super Booster III: Superscience,
Super Booster I: Cyborg -
Yeah but still a little bit of shading would do wonders, even in the comics... Superman at least has SOME tackle... lol

And if anybody cares, I made a fix for the hero side of the header... Seems the size is sitting at a pretty darn beefy 1920x1569px
which is well WAY beyond what most average computers show.
So I Hacked it up and I present you the before and after of my hack job (and yes i know its two browsers but they both showed the same... Opera was used for its remarkable ability to edit the HTML of a website and apply the changes directly to local cache of the website your looking at.)
Heres the Before Image (with the header way beyond the edges)
And After I was done with it,
All nice and centered and easy to see.
annnd here is the After-Mod version of the City of Heroes Background image.
BTW Forum devs, the CSS "Background:" property can't scale images....yet. however CSS3 is capable of doing such once its released to the main public.
And I know this is gonna sound weird from a guy... but Statesman has no package.... Like at least fill it out a bit or somethin.... jeeze. -
Quote:Whats real screwed up here is once a radio station here in Portland once advertised there was $500.00 hidden inside a barney doll in the Portland Area....Why would they take a stuffed Barney animal to the Mental Ward?
Mayhem ensued... Hundreds upon hundreds of decapitated barney toys lay everywhere...
and TJ, shame on you for triple-posting o.O

Quote:Personally you can stuff it. I said one sentence, I have 2 pictures that are barely even 30px high. and Userbars are actually quite a widely accepted form of signature image if any are even allowed on any forum. as they are small, compact and are quite easy to overlook.
Mainly the front page setup. I liked how the old forums was. Everything right there. Now I have to click a bunch of times to find anything and keep hitting backspaceMessing with it, still don't like it.
And people typing one sentance with a bunch of pictures in their sig sucks.
I would like to set fire to vBullitin -
well anyway, now that I got that movie burned, back to the game!

@Sam, I find its easier to me to either use Quick Links/Todays Posts or just hit the New Posts button to locate activity on the boards. But thats just me.
@Tex, Much Clearer. as the tags you shown in your post showed the color close tags before the actual color tags which is what had me confused. -
Quote:If you noticed, you closed the tags improperly, hence why the rest of your text was black.Testing a few thoughts here.
I thought so.
Okay, the above text was entered manually typing it as follows:
[/color][/color][color=yellow][color=Black][color=green]I thought so.[/color]
Even though "officially" it says that you have to enter the name of the color in quotes, you don't. Yes, using the WYSIWYG editor does it using quotes, but it doesn't have to be in quotes.
And much like HTML "officially" requiring opening and closing tags to be in the same order, I've re-written too many webpages where the tags work being entered in the wrong order. They make it a bugger to troubleshoot, but they still worked. Or at least they did on the last webpage I edited 4 years ago.
YMMV
I don't think I care for the black text on this background either.
If you did one more color close tag, your text would more than likely of been yellow because the black color tag was closed. One more close tag would of made your text back to the default white.
So yes, order is important and so is properly closed tags.
edit: now, at this point looking back over this I'm not sure if the black text was intentional or not... -
guess they fixed that while I wasn't lookin... lol but I said end in the same order they started.
so if the bold code starts first it usually must end last if a color tag is second, it ends second to last. yeah I know the wording is a bit diffrent but its all the same. I'm glad to see VB actually get rid of that ordering issue. probally did it a revision or 10 ago.
welp, off to go do my destructive anti-spam rampage on the phonearena forums...
(btw, they use VB and I'm a global mod. lol) -
Quote:The rule with BBCode tags is the same as HTML the tag has to end in the same order it started. Example,It's looking like you have bold code mixed in the middle of your color tags. I fixed them in my Quoted section above. Couldn't get your list items to work completely right though.
Luckily, I can get color to work using the Enhanced Editor functions just easily.
Wrong
[ COLOR="Yellow"][ b ]blahblahblah[ /COLOR ][ /b ]
Right
[ COLOR="Yellow"][ b ]blahblahblah[ /b ][ /COLOR ]
BTW Tex, problem with the VB FAQ on thier site, they are extremely lazy when it comes to updating it. lol but if you made a post and edited it or used the WYSIWYG you would spot that it actually sets them up with quotation marks each time. This is honestly to prevent parsing errors when the message is posted. -
Quote:You only see it when your NOT logged in. It's to prevent DDOS attacks against the site using bots through the search feature. What random letter generation? I've been using Search quite a bit, and I haven't seen any random letter generation?
Quote:[color:yellow]Likes[/color]- Background color
[color:yellow]Major Dislikes[/color]- Smaller Text Windows
- Smaller Font, hard to read

[color:yellow]Minor Dislikes[/color]- Confusion of not having a single front page
- Cumbersome Mailbox

The rest for me seems to be a learning curve. There may be more, but this is it for me so far.

If you put the color in quotes it will show up as it should, all variables in the BBCode now must be encapsulated in quotes or it will not show properly. -
