I've removed a chain of highly personal posts from this thread (with some collateral damage). If anyone ever feels that they have been personally attacked on these forums, report the post and then ignore it completely. By responding to the post you become part of the problem, and I really don't like needing to chastise someone who, for the most part, did the right thing.

I'm leaving this thread open for the time being, however I will not hesitate to close it if anyone makes it personal again.

Welcome to the nominations for January's Creative Genius!

Or, more accurately, SIX Creative Geniuses. Or is it Genii? Anyway, as this forum feature has been neglected for so long we've decided to splurge this month. We'll be selecting six winners from those nominated! Six! In another departure from the norm, all submissions from the period 1 July 2007 through 31 January 2008 are eligible.

Please use this thread to nominate submissions for the Creative Genius awards for the period of July 2007 through January 2008.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with the guidelines for the Creative board and the Creative Genius competition before making any nominations - you can read them here.

These nominations will remain open until 6pm GMT on Friday 22 February. The winner will be announced shortly after.

To nominate a submission, please post a link to the appropriate post.

Righto ... so it's been a long time, there's been changes in the people running the show and a whole lot more and that's resulted in a long, long delay. Whoops . Without further beating around the bush:

Congratulations to TomCat, who has belatedly won the June 2007 award for the Blistering Heat series of images.

There were three very good nominations for the June award. The other two richly deserve the high praise and nominations they received.

_Max_ receives the first Honourable Mention for his Rocky Horror adaptation. A lot of people here got a lot of enjoyment out of your work. Great job!

Pious also receives an Honourable Mention for his series of avatars provided to the community. It says a lot that many are still being used so many months later.

An official post will follow on the website later this week announcing the above and that the nominations for the January Creative Genius awards are opening. Did I say awards, plural? How did that slip out... *ahem*

Please remember to review the Creative Forum rules, and in particular the notes on eligibility for Creative Genius nomination. The nominations will open on February 1st, so keep your eyes open for the new thread then.

Hey all ... just thought I'd drop a quick note that I'll be putting some life back into the Creative Genius process commencing the first week of February. When the nominations thread goes up, you will be given the opportunity to nominate any new works created since the last Creative Genius award was issued. From March onwards we'll revert to the previous monthly nominations process.

Watch for the nominations thread on Feb 1st!

Edit: In the meantime, I'm pretty sure that thread entropy has overrun this thread. Science, bowel movements and the odd personal attack don't really pertain to the discussion of PvP in RV and the difference between those who visit the zone for PvP vs non-PvP purposes.
