Virtue, why do you crash every time my heroes try to enter the base or enter a door mission today? I've been good all week long. (oh wait). I mean all month long!

Has anyone else been sent to the login screen after staring at a loading screen (which never loads) for three minutes or so? I get a dialog box at the login screen which says "MapServer not connected. Try again." with either an OK or Close button to get rid of the message.

I can still enter my bases and enter door missions on Freedom but... eww!

I tried the moderate electric melee/shield defense build in my old Mids (that hadn't been updated to the latest version MXDSetup1-707) and the defenses were all above 45 or a bit higher. However, since hasten was at the end of the build and I didn't want super jump, I moved hasten where combat jumping used to be. I then put super speed where super jump used to be, and moved combat jumping to the end where Hasten was.

I suddenly noticed that the all three defense values dropped down to 42s in the View Totals screen. I realize that the nerf to Blessing of the Zephyr decreased ranged defense, but all three positions fell to 42 just by removing combat jumping and then putting it back. The numbers didn't go back up to 45 though when I re-selected combat jumping (from the pool powers select box). The BotZ set never left so I don't know why the soft cap didn't return.

The same thing happens with the newest update to Mids. Is this a bug in the Hero Planner or does the hero planner see something we're missing?

I really wanted to rob my ele melee/sd scrapper of his goods to add to my fire/sd scrapper. Now I'm just a bit concerned and don't want spend a lot on a build that may not actually be soft capped. Would someone on Live servers please confirm that these defense positions are indeed soft capped on a toon without any accolades or temporary buffs? I'd just like to be certain before I respec all the IOs out of my other heroes for this one.

Outstanding! That bug hit me three times yesterday on the live servers. I'm glad you found a fix for that.

I was using my free respec in the Portal Corps complex while teamed with my level 30 friend. She was running around defeating Fake Nemesis and Master Illusionist NPCs for badges. Imagine her dismay when I crashed and she suddenly found that she was no longer 49 (twice). She thought I cut the cord on purpose both times. At least now I can point her to these patch notes.

One time I had this dream where a friend had the ability to grant powers to others. She thought so highly of me that she decided to grant me the ability to instantly manifest my thoughts into reality. What she didn't know was that I was in the middle of a nightmare about the Earth being over-run with flesh eating robotic cockroaches that could pass through solid objects.

If any of you ever grant me the ability to instantly manifest my thoughts into reality, please at least have the foresight to add two "Are you sure? YES/NO" prompts before allowing me to go forward with each thought projection. Thanks!

I ran the event on Virtue on Monday (heroside) and it was a hand drawn slide show. I expected the same on Freedom but logged onto CoV anyway. At 6:55, people started gathering in Cap by the Vanguard entrance and the lag hit like a ton of bricks even before the event began.

Eventually my team went to Sharkhead Bay to go after the signature heroes. For some reason, at about 9pm, all my lag completely vanished. It was actually pretty enjoyable until I crashed to the desktop. When I logged in again, still no lag. I was so suprised that I decided to see if I could have some fun on the goody side. NOPE! It was still lagged silly on Blueside.

Devs, I don't know what you did at 9pm EST in Sharkhead on Freedom, but I recommend starting out with that technique next year. I actually got the Blackguard badge for defeating all the heroes. Best of all, I could see feedback from my characters as expected.

Thanks also for opening up the ski chalet last night. I didn't know it was open until it was about to close but I did sneak in and get all the ski badges on a Dual Pistols character.

This thread is full of insight and examples. I'm also glad that someone pointed out the difference between 40% and 45% defense. I learned this when trying to build my Night Widow into a Rikti pylon soloer.

I do hope this discussion picks up again once Castle's alleged nerf of the Blessing of the Zephyr set kicks in. I'd like to see some non-purple alternatives for soft-capping Melee, Ranged and AoE defense without the use of purple sets or the two BotZ sets. Can it be done?

I have come across threads in the past that used no purple sets (although there were five LotG +recharges, a Miracle +recovery and the Numina unique) that were soft-capped on Melee, Range and AoE as well as having similar damage and recharge times. All I did was write down the defense, recharge and damage numbers but didn't save the data chunk. <sigh>

As a contract composer, I know that clients are willing to pay for something they really want but can't pull off themselves because of skill level or lack of time required.

If a potential client just needs public domain background music for her company's answering machine, I'd send her in the right direction for free. If she wants a completely polished original movie trailer score, it could cost her thousands of dollars. She would have a license to use the music, however I still own the copyright to the music and can do with it as I please.

If it is true that NCsoft retains ownership of whatever MA arc content we submit, I don't know that I'd pay real money for a professional to flesh out and polish up my story arc idea. I would rather see the more passionate MA writers form a collective and run periodical workshops (on a global chat channel or in a MA forum thread) on improving one's own stories.

I know a few people who love to roleplay and run their SG storylines in the AE buildings. They have no purple IOs to trade and little to no marketeering experience for building wealth. They've got 9999 tickets that they don't even intend to spend. I'm sure they'd be happy to donate random rolls or rare invention salvage cashed in by those tickets.

I have it on good authority that SG base designers like to be paid in gum!
