Quote:I have to agree, unfortunately. Tried to do 2 Lambdas tonight. First one was stillborn, because:Hey Zwillinger,
I'm feeling lousy and haven't read through the thread so I'll keep this short ...
The LFG experience blows.
Point the first: LFG runs start with 8-12 people. But it's far easier to do these trials with a group of 24 set up in Pocket D. I'm not sure how it's going to work out in the long run, but right now LFG is actually a hindrance to enjoying the trials.
Point the second: LFG needs more options. I.e., someone sets up a trial run and sets some parameters: trial starts once 24 join. None of this heartache waiting to happen of 7 melee toons and a dom.
- The trial started with only 10 toons
- The (randomly chosen) league leader not only didn't communicate with anyone, he wouldn't rearrange the teams (despite everyone begging him to do so) so we ended up with teams of 2, 6, 1, and 1. Team balance? Not quite.
- Because of #1 and #2, half the league quit before we cleared around the building. Total trial time: 5 minutes

I think it's obvious that the devs are busy working on Clown, Mime, and Lawyer powersets for MMs...

There's no way to run this on OS X beyond running CoH and Sentinel both in a Windows VM, is there?
I'd love to take advantage of the Awesome Awesomeness, but my CoH install is firmly in SteveJobsville... -

Y'know, I've always thought it would be fun for the game to revert back to the launch state for just one day, so people could really appreciate how much the game has changed.
Of course, beyond the technical limitations, we'd lose a lot of the player toons in one swell foop (no EATs, VEATs, Villians, Praetorians, etc) and all the surviving players would lose their IOs, capes, Vet powers, and such, so it might be a bit of a debacle, but still... -
Quote:I would've sworn Apex and Tin Mage weren't even available if your Alpha wasn't unlocked. The debuff just fills the Alpha slot if there's nothing else there...I finally completed the arc-- busy week.
Compare that to Incarnates-- Incarnate-specific Task Forces are technically available to non-incarnates-- they're just heavily debuffed. People seeking that content are going to be some level of incarnate already, teaming with other incarnates or easily aware that the others in their group are not incarnate. There's far fewer barriers thrust in front of you at unexpected times. -
Don't look at it as having to run the arc to get Incarnated...
Look at it as running the arc so you can run the MOST EPIC MISSION EVER again (mission 1).
(So let's see, last time I killed all the AVs at once in a melee mob. This time, let's see how far away I can snipe them to death!) -

Actually, it's not too bad to get to southern IP via train right now - go to Brickstown and pop over a zone. Yeah, not as good as being there directly, but still...

Quote:That'd be spiffy... wish there was a way we could reprogram the Arena for PvP Football for a Thanksgiving day game...
Tankers/Brutes/Lobster form khelds = pass blocking
Scrappers/SoAs = receivers
Widows/Stalkers = blitzers
Dominators/Defenders = defense
Controllers = coaches
Blasters/Corruptors = QB/kickers/punters
Masterminds = special teams
And catgurls as cheerleaders.

Unfortunately, without some sort of passable ball mechanic, that won't work. So someone needs to figure out a team game that WOULD work in the current Arena that isn't a variant on "beat the other team in the face until they die". Well, no more than you get in normal football/rugby/Calvinball...
