There are different missions to farm and herd on. Trust me on that. My kinetics defender just started getting tells for a few of them.

Best way to tune a game. Find the points the PLers are using. Tune them. Repeat.

Use the ones "breaking" the system to point out where to fix things. Of course, making sure the fix is better than the break is the tough part.
  2. Flight is lazy. Hover is lazier still. Line up the arrow, hit R. Nap.

It even gives you an excuse to float over the party at all times. Talk about air matresses!
  3. The "cover-snipe" also works well with Hover, and in any case pull shots work best with a non-instant shot.

Ice bolt isn't an instant shot- the bolt takes a bit to actually strike and aggro. Lightning bolt is- the shot hits immediately after reaching the target.

Long animation shots work too. A snipe that won't kill the target does great- start the shot outside of cover, drop into cover, shot goes off, you hit and are out of immediate LOS. Good pull.

Note that dropping someone near a group is one of the best ways to get the entire group to come find out why. Don't do it. It's one reason to be cautious using a big shot to pull.

Someone will build a Japanese Schoolgirl SG.

They will then take them into the arena and have Lord Darkity Dark Dark Doom assault them with Tentacles. The arena instance will crash as otaku observer fanbois by the thousands log into the battle view.

I will note now that it is confirmed that schoolgirl-style skirts will be added in the costume update (see the WonderCon postings). I'm already halfway there on my prediction coming true.

    Gods help us all. :P

Just back from spending the day at Wondercon, had a Blast.

    <snip>
I also got to check out the new costume system, looke really awesome and has some great additions (Some I remember were the "Intelectual" face and the Anime Schoolgirl skirt)

Details, details! You just about doubled the available info on the new costume stuff right there.
  6. Hey, we're COH players. Who doesn't like Powers, Inspirations, and Enhancements?

So of course we all like pie!

Look at it this way. So far, no plans for mutant animals, so no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle wannabes. :P

Oh, and I hear Update 4 is where the put the portal mission to a world where Skuls have taken over after mankind destroys Earth. Half the other villian groups end up with a world, why not them? :P
  7. If you choose Hover, going vertical in an open area is a nice way to be safe when recovering. Just hold down space and rise, rise, rise. Mind yourself near buildings, though. Nothing like rise, rise, rise *BOOOOOOM* fall, SPLAT hospital visit thanks to the Outcast pack on the rooftop. Look both ways before levitating.

Inspirations are good. Try and keep 1-2 slots open by using them against anything decent (whites/yellows+). Odds are, they'll fill in one of the slots when you arrest a few.

Blue (even green) con mobs are usually good ways to pick up Inspirations without getting chewed up in the process.

You can activate Fly/Hover in mid-fall. Learn the timing and getting down from high places can be a very easy experience.

Bosses usually take multiple applications of a status inducing power to have it take effect. Don't expect Mr. Mire Eidolon to stop moving because you used Electric Fence. If a boss is charging you, this usually means he intends to take your head and jam it into the nearest hole- making that hole with your head, of course. If you are squishy, give yourself plenty of room to move. Some opponents are just going to be annoyed by certain powers-you can Fence that Cadaver all you like, all it's doing is damage. So be careful with newly names on your target. Laughing at all the Prototype Oscillators on the ground is good. Shooting one, having four fly up and chop you to bits on their helicopter rotors is bad.

Embalmed in Paragon City is another word for "blows you up".

If you want a bit more goodies out of fights, find citizens in trouble. Once you mash the bad guys threatening them, they may end up bringing you a little bonus Inspiration/Influence.

Statesman will nerf people. Positron's TF will change to "Save the engineers before their eyes explode.". Cuppajo will replace the heroic trainer of Atlas Park. Lord Recluse will arrive in King's Row. He will kill ALL the Skuls. And then leave.

    That's a good start.
  9. Cold Mastery opens up at 41st, when you get access choosing an Ancillary Power Pool. It's also worth noting that you can get the Munitions APP for another freeze ray- the Cryo rifle. It's a great way to get a third ranged hold on a Ice blaster (Rifle,BFR,FR). The other powers in that APP are a sleep grenade (short term AE sleep), body armor (passive Lethal/Smashing resistance) and if you snag two of those three, LRM rocket, which for an Ice blaster is a definite option to replace the somewhat maligned Blizzard (long recharge, AoE snipe that packs a nice punch).

I'm thinking I'll do munitions with my Ice/Elec and slot them up instead of going with Blizzard.

    Defense nerf

It goes both ways. Dual-type attacks are more accurate as a result of this...which as a blaster, I appreciate (and the Dark siders much more so). Folks depending on that bug for extra DEF now feel a little discomboulated. Try it and see, I'd say.
