Also, why is it always a *costume* contest? Why never a Background contest, or a "Whole Character" contest?

Just realized that. That's what I get for trying to juggle too much stuff at work (it was a B___h last night).

So, 10 AM Eastern (before, at, or after ). Great! I don't have to use up my lunch hour, and it is scheduled for a time that, if everything goes according to plan, is very doable for me -- at least for creating some toons, if not playing them.

    Thank you, Aggelakis!

(Though there is the download time to contend with. :-\)

I know that. But there can still be an "announced" time that, barring unforseen issues, it should become available for logging in.

Right now, I have *no* idea when it might happen. 5 minutes from now? 23:55 EST on the 13th? Somewhere in between?

I'm at work now, and need to know if I should plan to take my lunch break to run home and try to get my toon's names before they all get snapped up.

I do have a couple of querstions:

How will Freedom affect expansion packs I've already bought?

Presuming I want a majority of what is in a pack, would it be better to get it now, or wait and buy it in the store after Freedom starts?

  13. Pancake it. I'm done trying to post my DxDiag. If anyone would be willing to help me, I would be more than willing to email it to them.

  15. Okay, what the pancake is up with this board? I can understand having a max size cap, and blocking certain characters to avoid malicious attacks, but all I'm trying to do is pancake post my DxDiag!

And it's like the size limit shrinks with each portion I post! WTF? And there is no uploading/attaching files, so I can't just do that with the two flatfiles.

  21. Gods, no. I build my own computers (A+ cert., many builds.), so I can guarantee that it looks nothing like that.

I've never had to do either of the /reloadgfx in the game, or the ipconfig /flushdns outside in a command window. The one time I did try /reloadgfx was to try to resolve some "corruption" of the on-screen (non-windowed, like chat, global, etc.) text. It didn't fix it, but exiting & restarting the game client did.

My current machine is an AMD Phenom II 955 x4, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 64 bit Windows 7, and am ATI Radeon HD6970 (Sapphire). Norton 360 keeps my drives defragged (before, I'd do it myself). I'm not running anything else against the game that would soak up the remaining resources.

Anyway, here's the DxDiag and HijackThis reports. Hope they help.

  22. I hope this is the correct place to post this. Over the past 2 days, I have had a problem with the game freezing and becoming completely unresponsive, forcing me to kill it via task manager.

No hardware or software has changed on my system, other than (I think) the latest patch to the game. It's happened 4 times over the past 2 days.

If you need a diagnostic command to be run, or the contents of a log file, please give me the info and I will post the results.

Weren't they there last year? There was a panel, and I thought the speakers were from the company...

Just an idle thought, but while there isn't food close by, there is always space available in the Gaming (non-MMO) room. Last year it was a whole floor in the Hilton (where they had the BattleTech pods).

    What he said. I'm attending.

But if I read correctly, CoH is not attending this year?
  25. As far I know, Recipes are the only things that can't be stored (other than in WW/BM/Mail). It would be nice if there were a base item that filled this void -- even if it needed to be crafted.
