Okay I'm starting to get really irritated. I bought the pack with the faction clothing, I claimed the clothes from the store, but they didn't appear in my inventory, they don't show up in the character creator, and I can't find an NPC that let's me change my clothes ingame. The Barber and Surgeon are only letting me change my face and hair.
Oh and their damn forums won't let me register. It says my login and password isn't valid, then sends me to a screen to get them sent to my email, but then tells me my email isn't valid and to contact an Administrator, but wont let me do that because I can't log in to the forums.
Who the frak is running things over there gorram Dilbert? -
I don't know. I just bought it but I didn't get the combat pet or the ingame t-shirt as far as I can tell.

And the female snakeskin outfit:

It's decent enough, but I mostly wear stuff that I bought at Pangea and one reward for unlocking blood magic's inner tier. Before I fully understood how the wardrobe worked, I put on the snakeskin outfit but could not figure out how to take it back off for a day or so.It was okay, but I liked what I had more. I also spent a lot of time wearing the initiate jacket.
I've had far more use out of the starter weaponry and talismans, which are not lifetime perks.
The big perk for me is, however, being able to play whenever I want without having to worry about sub fees. Which isn't a perk so much as the point of a lifetime sub, but you know.
Thanks! -

Quote:Damn stupid AI. How dare they program it to repeatedly take advantage of a players weakness in order to keep it "alive" longer in combat. The issue isn't what combat tactics we can't do, it's just the enemy AI is retarded.
It's like they programmed the enemies to avoid your line-of-sight...
..without realizing that the computer will ALWAYS choose to fulfill that action by making a direct b-line to your ship and hugging the underside of it while you constantly spin around like a top.
It would be like if every enemy group from the Hellions to the Carnies decided that the best tactic would be to run up to you and [brawl] you. Every fight. -
Quote:If you're going to define cancellation as changing the product then I hate to break the news to you but everyone will be going to "buy" a different product starting Nov 30th.Well that happens to lots of products.
But as he mentioned, if a change was made and he didnt like it, he'd go buy a different brand.
This wasa change by definition, a change to take a product and kill it, so it still stands as, why not go buy a different brand?
Just because your favorite product will no longer be available after a certain date doesn't mean you have to rush home and immediately replace it with something else.
Most people with common sense will use the time remaining to enjoy their favorite product while they still can, maybe even try to save it, while looking for a replacement. -
Quote:Let's not start nitpicking what combat tactics we can't do in the game. I've got my own list but it's useless to gripe about things we can't change because their devs chose not to allow them for whatever reasons.Ship combat has potential, but all it ever seems to devolve into is the ever present enemy tactic of getting REALLY REALLY REALLY close to your ship so you're constantly having to turn to see them. Like, I don't remember any episode of Star Trek where Picard says "****, we can't lock onto the enemy ship because they're perpetually below, and to the left of our field of vision! Quick, keep turning! We might be able to see them long enough to fire off a shot!"
It's annoying to say the least. -

Uhm the fact that CoH didn't change it's "recipe" to something we didn't like. Nor was CoH not turning a profit for NCSoft.

Sorry. I think I'm a little defensive because I feel guilty for not playing more. As much as I do like the game I just can't seem to find the motivation to log in more often. And I have no one but myself to blame for that.

Quote:Cereal prices are hardly a scam. Even the data I provided is ten years out of date. It's even more expensive now to manufacture it and prices go up accordingly. The main point that so many seemed to have missed.
It's all a scam.
While there are real pricing scams out there the example you chose has been thoroughly debunked.
Another good example of pricing scams are digital downloads of books, music, movies, etc. Publishers no longer have the excuse of expenses that used to go into the manufacture and distribution of books, records, CD's, DvD's yet they charge the same prices as if you were getting a brand new physical product.
Personally I don't mind paying top dollar for a newly released item but there is no way in hell I'm paying $10-20 bucks for an ebook, album, movie that's several years old. I'll find a damned used physical copy dirt cheap. -
Quote:Yeah, I know what you mean. For a while, Paragon Expeditionary Fleet had maybe four regularly active members. We made pretty good progress on unlocking tier 1 of all the starbase stuff, but slowed down at tier 2. We've had an uptick in activity since the Paragon closure announcement, though, and things are moving faster. We're close to filling out tier 2 of military and science, and once we get the T2 shipyard or comm array built (I'm hoping for the shipyard first) we'll get started on the T2 starbase.
I try not to even think about tier 3. Have you seen the requirements for those projects? I mean, good lord.
Hey. I may not play much but every time I'm on I contribute to the Fleet. -
Quote:My actual motive behind posting the prices was to demonstrate how good we actually had it here as far as pricing goes and what we got for our money. People are going to find that cash shops in some other games are more expensive.Server transfers are, apparently, meaningless unless you PVP (apparently that is server and faction specific).
I agree that the titles are stupidly priced, but vanity items...
Same with pets.
There is a lot of clothing that can be unlocked in game for in game cash and achievements. But the per-character unlocks annoy me as well. So do the multi-slot only costumes.
Quote:This is wrong. You can change costumes to whatever you've unlocked for the character (Pangea's, achievements, or item store) whenever you want.
Plastic Surgeon... either through the item store OR PAX. Admittedly, it is a large amount of PAX, but it is an option. -

Quote:And the Supermarkets that sell generic brands are packaging the exact same product as the name brand which they bought from the same manufacturer only packaged under a generic name.As well as including the various markups for wholesalers and the supermarket itself.
Talk about a scam.
Another big scam on consumers is what hospitals charge for things like aspirin. -

Quote:That test can be found here.
And it tells me that Dragon fits me best.
And this was the most visually entertaining personality test I've ever taken.
I liked the test as well, but I think my mood affects my answers. For fun I've taken it a couple of times and gotten a different answer each time.
My personality seems to fluxuate beween the Dragon and the Templars. I've never gotten the Illuminati tho.
Quote:I have an alt of each faction on Daemon though mostly a Templar at heart. I'd really love to connect with any Paragon refugees in TSW.
Queller - Templar
Glider - Illuminati
Murk - Dragon
Templars went with Elementalism/Shotgun
Dragons went with Chaos/Sticky-Pokey
Illuminati went with Blood/Assault Rifle
Oh and I'm currently soloing on Arcadia
Dragon - FeydRuatha - Yeah I know - but it's just for the trial. If I end up getting the game I'll get a more original name.
Illuminati - Locura - "Madness/Insanity" - After meeting the mad scientist I remade the character because this name felt appropriate.
Templar - Caracel - Which is a Wild Cat
I considered trying to see if Serval was available but I didn't like thinking people might assume Serval = Servant for a Templar. He doesn't blindly follow their doctrine but instead follows his conscience and tries to defend humanity. To hell with the Templars orders if they contradict what he knows in his heart is the right thing to do. -
Quote:While I personally agree with everything you said, you have to consider what type of audience the writers are trying to engage.Uh, hello, did any of the writers even research Trident II missiles or even Ohio class subs at all?
That's okay, guess the writing team just watched Superman for research.
You've got to remember that the intended audience are just simple people. These are people of the land. The common clay of America. You know... morons. -
Just noticed a refund of $4.35 from NCSoft and I wasn't expecting any. Must be because my monthly renewal was on the 9th of the month and I'm getting the last 9 days or so back from my August payment.
Now I can afford to pay for my grandmother's operation! -
As I recall back around 2000-2001 I read that the raw materials that go into making the cereal itself ran about 15 cents per box. However the packaging, shipping, sales, promotion and advertising total 48 percent of the price of a box of cereal.
People always focus on the cost of the raw material and ignore all the other costs.
Now if you want to talk about people getting scammed on food talk about bottled water. -
Well so far most of the items I've seen in their store are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay so they are all things a person can live without.
I'll be checking out the game on the trial this weekend and then decide if I like it enough to buy it. So far my biggest complaint is I don't like their "map" in the upper right corner. From what I've seen in the tutorial it just shows the outline of buildings which is useless if you get turned around in a building with rooms and have trouble finding an exit. -
Quote:That's good to know.Just a not: Server transfers are 98% irrelevant.
Your "home server" is the server you log into every day. You can, however, at any time click on a player on your friends list and temporarily transfer over to their server. You can be on any server anytime you want for any reason.
Personally it's the costumes that only unlock for a single character that killed any interest I had in buying points if I decide to get the game.
Do you know if you also have to buy a ticket to make use of the games tailor if you buy a new costume piece/set?
Cuz that's just adding insult to injury. -
I was just checking out items on their "store" and all I can say is former CoH players that complained about prices here are gonna be in for a rude awakening.
$20 bucks for a server transfer
$10 bucks for a costume set for a SINGLE character
Titles for a character range from $1-2 bucks up to $17 bucks for a SINGLE character
Pets cost $5 bucks dog, cat, or bird for a SINGLE character
