    Banned Missions

    QR

If a mission has a complaint against it, and you think it has the potential of being a farm, save it locally, unpublish, and republish it, and the complaint is gone.
  3. QR

Why would someone think AE missions gives merits? Should have told them to learn how to play, only TF's give merits.

While they have made it easier to level, the idea that the intent of MA was to make it even easier by a factor of 10 just doesn't ring true.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I have never ran on a team spec'd out to be better against a certain type of enemy, but I can see 8 fire/rads trollers, or 8 storm/elec defenders running missions filled with nothing but bosses that they are specialised against leveling very very quickly.

In the past, we have been able to spec our characters to be very good against some enemies. Take a Defender Storm/Elec superteam for instance. 8 of them together have energy defense and energy resist both capped. Make arcs with enemies that have only energy attacks. What MA did was now give us the means to create missions with only these enemies.

With these specialized teams and being able to create maps where these specialized teams can drop bosses like they were rikti monkeys, leveling speed increasing by a factor of 10 is possible.

This thread has SO run its course....is there a way to ignore a thread?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually it just seems to be heating up with new hot and dirty gossip.

To address your question though; do you really need someone to point out the obvious answer? Really?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It just goes to show you are ignorant the anti farming crew is. Smurphy makes a simple statement, and says he's going to run the hardest missions available, and receive the most rewards possible, and people make a stink over it. I think next time someone runs something like this they should add "nyah nyah nyah you can't stop me"

-cough- -blink- Somebody explain to me how pl'ing pact'd chars makes you 'good at the game'. IMO that doesn't add up.
It's not like your headshotting 100% or taking over the world with france... your just exploiting an xp loophole. Thats not skill.

He wants to take a full group into missions with the toughest boss mobs made by the Devs.

How is that an xp loophole?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm going to readily admit I might have gotten lost in here somewhere since I've been reading like 10 threads and hunting down Lost but I'd swear he said something about pacting with a buncha offline chars during this uber XP running debacle in an attempt to get them to 50 in like 10 hours.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This may have been explained already ..... but Running toons that are pacted with someone else, and having the other toon logged off makes it extremely hard to level that toon. He'll be doing twice the work.

um you seem to have missed the definition of direct lol

specifically this part: mark with the name and address of the intended recipient

perhaps you should let merriam-webster know they made a mistake

on an aside i told smurphy that if someone argued with a dictionary they would make a fool of them self ....

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Just an FYI....

When a dictionary has two listings for a word, you don't have to use both.

Otherwise... you might think I look foolish arguing with a dictionary, but I think it looks a might bit more foolish not knowing how to properly use one.

    Have a nice day.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wait ... Let me get this straight .... your definition for direct is ...

    Direct: In a Direct Manner

    ROFLMAO

    [ QUOTE ]
    Directly:
    in a direct manner

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, and nowhere in there does it say you have to use the intended audience's name.

In this case NcSoft Employees was who it was directed at.

As I said so many posts ago, which you somehow tried to twist into only fitting the definition if it broke the EULA, which never had anything to do with it.

    Thanks for the proof.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Reading comprehension FTW ...
In the definition provided, yes it did state you had to use a name.
Directly is in a direct manner, and what was the defintion given for direct?

    [ QUOTE ]

    Direct:
to write (a letter) to a person b: to mark with the name and address of the intended recipient

No. CoH is NOT a novel.

CoH is a "Choose Your Own Adventure".

Stop crying because people choose an adventure other than the one YOU would choose for them!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ah ha. But even in a choose your adventure book, you still don't read the same page over and over. You look for alternate paths -- something you could do differently to achieve a different ending....and Choose your own adventure books have beginnings, middles, and ends.

    Playstyles

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
WITHOUT getting into a discussion of the pros and cons of each style, I'm interested in how many different playstyles are distinct enough to have their own names.

    I'm aware of:

    Farmer

    Powerleveler/PLer

    Roleplayer/RPer

    PvPer

    Badger

    (Ebil) Marketeer

    Any others?

(Casual vs. Hardcore is more an expression of attitude towards the game than a specific playstyle.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

My only issue with your list is farmer = powerleveler.

    Farming for XP .....

[/ QUOTE ]Oh, carp, I'm sorry, Folonius, I didn't see your post until now.

I have NEVER equated Farmer and Powerleveler, that's why I put them on separate lines. And I hope that's even more clear in the current version of the list, where I say "Usually also a Farmer".

I completely recognize that many Farmers are not Powerlevelers. I don't see, though, how anyone could be a Powerleveler without also being a Farmer, but since I can't be absolutely sure of that, I said "Usually".

If you (or anyone else) feel that it is still an invalid assumption, let me know.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I usually equate a powerleveler as someone who is farming for XP ... that's why I lump the powerleveler into the farming category. I know some people don't agree with the idea, but xp is just another form of rewards. Rewards is the target of farming hence why I lump them together.
