Well, I'm not going to bother writing a long winded post explaining all my feelings, as that will just get this thread locked.

So instead, I will just say Goodbye Folks! It's been fun whilst it lasted, but it's time to find someone who actually WANTS my money every month.

My account is now canceled and times out on the 3rd May. I might possibly return in the future, but don't count on it until they at LEAST upgrade the game engine to something that's able to compete with the competition.

And no. Nobody is getting my stuff.

How come you're all surprised by the lag? You know full well the servers struggle with more than a few dozen people in a zone at once... Always have, always will.

TBH, he said absolutely bugger all to sway me from canceling my sub tomorrow. Quite the opposite in face. And I suspect his address is going to be equally naff as far as upcoming news is concerned. It's just going to be some more self-patting on the back.

That will be because it has it's OWN thread, started several hours ago.

If you believe what the devs say, and there's no reason NOT to, before the MA they basically had to script missions manually. They had no tool remotely like it to make their jobs easier, and probably explains the lack of content lately.

Now that the MA is here, it's a tool THEY TOO can use to generate content much easier. Obviously, they have a more powerful version of it though.

Which makes i15 an even BIGGER "Huh?". They have the MA tool now, so no longer do they have any excuses for content light issues.

Times change though. Promises aren't fullfilled and patience wears out. Optimism becomes pessimism and absenteeism becomes increasingly likely.

These sort of things are what I would like, and would entice me to stay on. Even if there were no new missions or arcs or TF's; just a brand new coat of paint, would be enough to make things feel fresh again.

Though a reworking of places like Steel, so that they actually look like proper cities, would be nice.

The only reason CoH has retained as many veterans as it has is because its basically the only game in town that's why many of the veterans are still here not because they "truly love the game" but because it was the only game that fulfilled a need that's why 5 years down the line even tho there largely board with the game there still here because there was nothing else.

That just makes it all the more vital that they do everything they can to KEEP us veteran players.

Because, at the end of the day, WE are the ones still here after several years, whilst many others are gone after 6 months.

Alienating a portion your core user base isn't exactly smart, especially when you're in a niche game who's subscriber numbers aren't exactly massively impressive.

Actually, I've never threatened to leave before, and I'm not threatening now. I'm merely saying that, unless Posi has something interesting to tell us in the address, unless he can tell us that something is coming in the NEAR future that makes me feel rewarded for my 52 months of loyalty, then the game no longer holds enough interest for me to stay. Simple. I'll give their competition my money instead. This is not a threat, it's a statement of intent.

If they don't want to retain some of their most loyal customers, that's their loss. Not particularly good business given the current state of the world market though, is it?
