Don't think we haven't considered it, we have, lots. The problem is the minority of people who'll interrupt whatever we're doing for a cheap kill...

So what you may say? Just get up and carry on? Well yes, we can do that of course, we couldn't care less about RP reputation. However, having someone come along and clobber you when you're in the middle of an RP scene totally destroys any immersion built up and can very easily ruin the entire night for us.

If you're trying to have a confrontation with an arch-enemy or something, and every time one of you finished a sentence, some PITA comes along and kills your butt, how long will it be before you get totally pee'd off and just give up?

Several people have in the past offered to run something like a guard for us, which is incredibly nice, but the thing is, RP scenes can take hours to unfold and those kind enough to stand guard would be bored out of their skulls for the most part and leave before very long.

I'm NOT saying this is a general attitude with all PvPers, but it's a noticeble one, even from several forum members. I'll name no names but there have been a few people that have quite plainly stated that if they see people standing around, they'll attack. This is the kind of PvP attitude that *seems* prelavent to us and it's this kind of attitude that I see in any game involving any kind of PvP aspect. Look at FPS games like Counterstrike, they're massively PvP and the attitude of 99% of players there seriously stinks, and it won't be long before similar happens here, I already see the first signs with the trash talk...

To be fair, I *DID* say the posts in the thread so far (up to my post), and not the majority of actuall players! I'm well aware the PvP zones are full of [censored] that will do anything for a cheap kill, I was just commenting that the people who'd posted so far were more the type of people I'd like to PvP against, just interested in the fun and not the reputation.

And does that mean that if Ellie bumps into Crow in Warburg, he'd be all mean and nasty to her? She might just like that you know... Depends on what colour she is at the time!

Now, pretty much all the replies here show a good attitude towards PvP, and are the kind of people I'd enjoy getting into a scrap with. Just a bit of fun. It's the relatively smaller minority of players who use the other tactics I have the problem with. Unfortunately, these kinds of players are going to ruin the fun aspect of PvP for everyone else unless the devs address the issues.

As far as I'm concerned, the following really need doing.

1) Impossible to target anyone in a safe zone
2) Impossible to damage anyone in a safe zone, even with AoE's.

This will stop people being teleported from safe zones like bases or hospitals, and it will stop toons that get past the defenses, such as stalkers, from being able to attack anyone...

I've had a little fun in the PvP zones, and on Saturday I actually bumped into someone I RP with at GG. He stood there looking at me for a moment, then suddenly my toon went for him! This was even actually IC as well as my toon had just had something happen to her that made her a little... unpredicatable... just then!

We had some nice OOC tells during the fight too, it was all kept fun and neither actually won as we kept legging it at low health... To me that was far more fun than planting him We also broke from the fight if we strayed too close to PvE mobs, all without agreeing to! Just the sort of PvP fun I like... The little bugger also nearly nicked my scientist at one point whilst I was resting!!

To prove her unpredicability, she later completed the mission and nuked the villain base (it was empty, and I made sure of that first!). And I must way... that was the first 0.5 microgram nuclear explosion I've witnessed! Could we have some megatonnage please?

This is the kind of PvP action that does nothing but add to the game as it was great fun! The other kind (glares are certain people), just <bleeps> people off and stops them bothering...

Well.. 10 years earlier would make Ellie 10 years old, no powers, and in London...

However... 'Now' timeline Grav and Saphire have already tried to help once, I see sending help as a possiblity if it's needed...

Ah.... Doc's ever faithfull flange cannon... Does wonders that gadget does!!!

Of course... There's a slightly LESS flangy way to call for help... There's already been a portal that the 'future' Grav and Saphire were trying to help the 'current' versions with... They could always send someone back to provide help...

This is, of course, assuming they still need help...

It's looking like Grav and Saphire could do with some backup... Are they able to call on help at all?

Thank you Wordy and Ghost. Volcanos, as I said in the GG thread. I rolled with it last night, but I'm sorry, I won't be there at 8 this evening.

It was never my intention to carry that part of her backstory much further than the attempt on her life by the family member so we could create an arch-nemesis for a later date, and the feelings of guilt she will always have. Would such a situation actually be possible in reality, she would very likely by now be on the edge of a total psychological collapse, anyone would. I do not want my character to go insane...

So please, I ask you to stop trying to torment Ellie. If you are unable to roleplay for a while, it's far simpler to just take your toon on a holiday somewhere like most other people do!
