*heads spins with all the lables*

Ultimate?
616?
AoA?
MUD?

And some more that are bount to come up...
Can anyone give me a run down?

[/ QUOTE ]

616 is the traditional Marvel universe.
Ultimates is a retconned Marvel universe.
Aoa is... I've no idea!
MUD is a Multi User Dungeon. The precursor to MMO's. Text based and played over the telnet protocol.
6. OK, as part of the next step then, people will need the IRC server information!

I would rather not put it up on the forum as anyone can read it, so if those interested fire me a PM, I'll reply with the login details.
7. [ QUOTE ]
EDIT: Also...is there any particular technical reason why the IRC server can't be used for both? (Obviosuly letting people know when it's 616/Ultimate to avoid confusion)

[/ QUOTE ]

None at all, and if people want to try it, pleaae do so!

9. It's certainly an interesting idea Z. Allow's you to "start anew" with your character if you wish, rectify any mistakes you may have made with them and not have to worry about explaining it to people as, in the ultimates version, it never happened anyway.
10. Well... Four of us tried the freeform IRC roleplaying last night, and I must say... 10 hours...

It's fun!!!
11. Rikti are easy.. PoW camps.

What about missions?

Would we use any "rules" beyond "Respecting others."?

[/ QUOTE ]

Missions can be GM'd just like any IRC roleplay.
13. And Z has a handy little dice script
14. Personally, I think it's a stonking good idea, especially as it lets us RP with those who have moved on from the game... If they wish!

I have a private IRC server so there's no problem about that. Once we get something sorted, I'll let people know the address, but it'll likely only run in the evenings...

The people are generally friendly (although from personal experience it's not wise to mention that Volt Masters white and gold cossie looks kinda "poncey" as this results in mean words from a 3rd party)

Oi!!

Talk to Ironclad! Noone else does! lol

Maybe if he'd show up from time to time, people would...
17. Guys, please... Enough now.

If you have nothing to contribute to the topic at hand, then don't post anything.
18. Welcome to the world of RP! You'll find, I think, that it adds a whole new dimension to the game and has certainly kept me in-game a year longer than I would have.

You may or may not like things like the GG meets. They're intended mostly for the social side of things, a hero's downtime as it were. But it's a very good place to meet other RPers and, though you don't want to join an RP SG, it'll give you contacts for some IC missioning as well!

We have a global chat channel which is completely OOC, called GGOOC. Feel free to join as it helps keep GG in character as much as possible. It IS moderated, but only to the extent of trying to keep swearing down and stopping arguments. Generally anything goes in there...

I hope you enjoy your RPing experience!
19. Phew! I saw the subject and thought for a minute, "Oh no... He's gonna leave..." Glad I was wrong!

You have a point there though, about the dialog, and several other things. I've seen one or two quote along those lines you mention and it made me do a double take. But I just sighed and tried to forget it.

What I DID find hard to ignore though was yesterday in Kings Row, when I came across THREE Paladins in a group...
20. Ellie's never had any complaints from her customers, and even landed a large contract from ZorTel. Her personal taste in clothes doesn't reflect what she puts her customers into.. Unless they want to look tarty, like Psyonix did!

And it was Requiem & Co who had her store torched...

/EDIT - Woah, just realised how quickly I jumped on your reply. I do step away from the forum every so often, I assure you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm... Never had a cyber stalker before... Cool!

( I kid, honestly! )
22. [ QUOTE ]
You must've missed the elite longbow and arachnos forces duking it out on the other side of the fence, probably to keep the worst threats inside while level 1 villains and inmates escape since they're less of a threat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just like to point out that these mobs are only present in Breakout, in CoV. In hero's, there are no Longbow around the jail...

"I was hoping that Bluestrike would pop by. She has a reputation for being a good clothes designer amongst the hero community. I feel that it's time for a change."

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey, Ellie's the professional clothes designer!! Blues' just a first year student!

24. You need to play CoH a bit dearie... The later arcs are FULL of incidences of AV's just being dimension shifted out of the Zig... You'd think they'd install jammers...

You'd also think they'd be equipped to hold high powered villains. Not to mention the 100's of escaped convicts in their bright orange jumpsuits hanging around in Brickstown...
