Nooooooooooo! That's really bad. For you obviously but, more importantly, for me
I can't afford to by you a new PC put I can be outside any UK branch of PC World in a car with the engine running at three hours notice.

I wouldn't even steal a PC from PC World, their stuff sucks so hard...
  3. Some pointers, if I may.

    1) Your story is VERY hard to read, due mainly to the lack of any kind of paragraph structure. Proper paragraph and sentence structure are essential in a story if you want anyone to actually read it. I'm afraid that, at first glance I almost didn't read it as I just saw a block of text and thought, "Nah, not worth the effort". As a story writer, it's part of your job to make the experience of reading as easy and enjoyable as possible for your audience.

    2) Dialog should be on a line of its own rather than mixed in with any narrative, and it's important not to forget the quote marks so the reader can tell who is reading. There was one part with your character may have been speaking, or he may not; I couldn't tell unfortunately.

    3) Be careful of accidental word substitution; you use the word "expect", where I suspect you meant "except". It's an easy word to mis-type and miss on proof reading, so I always recommend getting a friend to proof read for you, prior to posting; I always do!

The story itself, well it's barely begun so I'll leave any comments on that until a bit more is there. I hope these pointers help you in some way, and I look forward to reading the next part.
  4. You can slot it into Sprint too... Making it useful to ALL forms...
  5. Oooh look, lets have a bit of threadromancy!!

As this old thread is about people of small artistic talent having a go, and having recently picked up a pencil for the first time in over 10 years, and aquired a scanner; I thought I'd share my meagre attempts at drawing something...

Image 1 was copied from the coverart of a soon to be released DS game, and only took me a few minutes to do. This is the FIRST drawing I've done in over 10 years, and I wasn't very good to start with either! I always had trouble with original works so tend to try to copy when I can...

Image 2 is an attempt at a chibi, and is based off a chibi tutorial I found on the web, so is partly original. I'm fairly pleased with the head I think, but the body went kinda wrong when I added clothes... I think I need to simplify a bit more.

Image 3 is a wholly original attempt at a chibi. Having been disappointed by my attempt at the body in Image 2, I decided to just do the head this time. I'm fairly pleased with the face, but the hair needs a bit of work I think.

I seem to have caught the art bug with these chibi's; they're a lot easier to draw that proper people! So I'll keep trying and see how I go!

    Anyway, criticism and advice welcome!
  6. Miss Ellie will be up for that too! Maybe it could be a joint one with her partner, Grav Mistress?
  7. Aah, goodo! It's very nice and pretty skin.. I just don't want to look so conspicuous at work!
  8. I hope we can keep the current "lite" version we have now as well. I access it from work quite often y'see.

Typical! The third character's backstory I have read is basically a lesbian catgirl

    Which one?
  10. If you want to street sweep, do it in the hazard zones as much as possible. Larger mobs+AoE's = much fun in nova form.
  11. For anyone interested, I've added a location entry for Galaxy Girl, containing a brief history of how the meets there came about.

    Kheld only STF!!

I'd be up for this too, with my triform PB.

Which server though? I'm on Union...
  13. Meh, it's gone 6 months without winner announcements before...
  14. (( Oh I dunno... Rikti invading when people are celebrating their buggering off is kinda ironic really... ))

Edit: Beaten by FFM! Bah! *cries*

    You enjoyed it last time!
  16. All of the above, really!

People RP in missions, people RP in bases, people RP in social situations at Galaxy Girl or Pocket D, or other places. People do their own story lines, and we even have community wide story lines sometimes.

For the most part, a lot of people tend to split RPing and missioning. A lot of RPers will mission OOC, but then head to a social spot later in the evening for some social/immersive RP. That can include just hanging around chatting, or doing your own story lines, or doing anything else you want to do really.

    Oh the irony!

Page Protection - I've heard that MediaWiki can be set up so only the user who created a page or a mod can make alterations, something to consider.

    This!
  19. [ QUOTE ]

I was just wondering why there isn't one for Defiant.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At a guess, I'd say it's because it was started by Union roleplayers for the Union roleplay community, as that's the official unofficial roleplay server.

You're actually the first person I've ever seen say there's any amount of RP on the Defiant server. Past history indicates that beyond a tiny amount of SG based RP, there pretty much IS no RP on Defiant.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

Yes they are using different templates, better ones in my opinion.

The fact that it's there annoys me, I think I'll just forget about using this thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Suit yourself. Nobody is forcing you to use the wiki. It's merely there as a resource if people WANT to use it.

    [ QUOTE ]

And why isn't there a Defiant one anyway? I've practically filled up all of my 2 accounts worth of slots with roleplayed characters on both Union and Defiant.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because it's the Handbook of the Union Universe, not the Defiant universe. Union is the official unofficial RP server and where 99.99% of the roleplayers are. If you want one for Defiant, nothing is stopping you from making one.
  21. They're probably using different templates. You CAN create your own if you want to; but the point was to standardise things as much as possible. Again, you don't HAVE to fill in the field if you don't want to.
  22. That's the way templates work unfortunately. But that doesn't mean you HAVE to fill all the blanks. Either put N/A or leave it blank and it'll say Classified or some such.

Problem is when changing something that involvs tagging across all profiles it is almost impossible to notify everyone what youre gonne do.

    hitting the 150 profiles soon...

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's a simple solution to that.

    Don't change anyone elses pages.
