What's your point? Enemies with -def against players with defense resistance (Super Reflexes, for example) can't really do much. Against players without defense resistance (softcapped Blasters, for example), the battle begins with the critters having a hard time hitting, but each successful hit makes the following attacks more likely to hit, which then make the player even easier to hit, and so on.

For characters with defense sets, it wouldn't really be a problem, as they'd be nearly immune to cascading defense failure. For characters relying entirely on IOs for defense, they would eventually succumb to CDF, which would remove "defense" from being the end-all, be-all IO set bonus.

More enemies with -def. More Res(def) for defense sets. Result: Defense set bonuses are not so overwhelmingly attractive compared to other bonuses.
  3. I think the solution to the softcap IO'd defense issue is to have more enemies with -def, and to ensure that +def from primary/secondary powers includes defense resistance.

The characters who gain defense from their power sets won't really be subject to cascading defense failure, whereas softcapped Blasters would be.

If you launch a full scale war to force Emperor Cole to step down, many innocents will die in the crossfire which you started, and unless you quickly supply an immense force of protective supers in their dimension, everyone will die due to the DE. And if you do supply such a force, then our own dimension will be at the mercy of the myriad of other threats we face.

Edit: And, proof positive that people will die in the crossfire: Siren's Call

If you do nothing, the people of Praetoria continue to live happily in a utopia.

But they do exist. That's why they show up on the market. There isn't anything in the game which drops lv53 recipes, but the recipes exist in the game's database.

Regardless of what you think of the situation, your motives for invading Praetorian Earth are identical to Emperor Cole's motives for invading Primal Earth. You both want to impose your values on another dimension.

And yes, I know you're going to claim that your values are better than his. But he thinks the same thing about you.

How did you go from "I want to be able to afford SOs as I naturally progress in level" to "I want my 50s to be able to afford IO crafting costs"?

OTOH, gamers reminisce about Nintendo Hard games, and still toss themselves into the grinder. Making a quality game is not as simple as "easy" vs. "hard".

Most AV/EBs do not have more resistance than players can achieve, actually (though their resistance cap is higher, most never hit their cap). In fact, Soldiers of Rularuu have twice the resistance cap of AVs.

Also, AV/EBs that self-rez are very rare, outside MA. Wailer Lord (CoV), Romulus Augustus (Co-Op), and Valkyrie (CoV) are the only AV/EBs that actually have a self-rez power. You might also count War: Rider, Famine: Rider, and Pestilence: Rider (Co-Op), who have multiple encounters within the same mission, or Snaptooth (Co-Op), who respawns himself at varying ranks, topping off with EB.

Actually, we trespassed on ϒ β 9-6 first. Emperor Cole saw that we came from a lawless dimension, and decided to take the same proactive stance that GG is advocating.

If you're trying to find screenshots you previously took while on the test server, your only hope is that the memory space previously taken up by those images hasn't been overwritten. You'd have to use an undelete program to get them back, and there's no guarantee that they still exist.

Any time I've seen a post from Power (whether a thread starter or simply a reply) which had even a slight amount of coherency or relevance, it was nearly a direct copy o an extant post in the same thread, or on the first page of the same forum.

Because the build can benefit from just about anything, to be honest. And defense bonuses are easy to find. And 45% defense means you only take 10% damage, on average.

Actually, if you sum the endurance costs, cast times, and recharge times, I don't think it would be unbalanced at all. Now, I don't think it's likely, particularly since the players would pretty much demand custom animations, but I think it could be balanced.
  18. You know what would help a LOT with channel capacity issues? If your account is removed from the channel whenever you log out, and is added back into the channel when you log in. Just like an IRC channel.

Then, the 2500 limit would only apply if 2500 people were trying to log into the channel at the same time. Which is unlikely; and if it does happen, you probably can't have a real conversation there anyway.
  19. I've never tried Cold without fitness, so I can't really comment, though I imagine the shields wouldn't help...

However, Kinetics is probably the standard "skip fitness" set. Transference at 26 means pretty much infinite endurance.

Absolute freedom is anarchy. You must sacrifice freedoms in order to have societal structure. How much and which freedoms you sacrifice depends on what structure you want and/or need.

Your connection to the House of Hanover undeniably proves that you support dynastic rule. Emperor Cole's meritocracy is little different from your own dynasty, so I don't know what your problem with him is

Wait, lemme get this straight. Because you think that Emperor Cole is morally destitute, you implicitly have the right to overturn his empire and bring anarchy to his world.

Aren't you the one who keeps claiming it's the people's right to overturn their own illegitimate government?
