Flame Blade

Instead of digging out my old "thread", I thought I would make a new one. I have finally gotten around to getting myself a sketch book in the same propertions as my scanner, and couple of more pencils in different hardness so now I'm ready to roll. Of course there is still that little pesky issue of time... That seems to out of stock everywhere I look.

I have move my sketches on dA, so they are all places in my scraps space. As I get them cleaned up and inked I will post the final results on my main gallery.

You know, that is actually quite good. I think you got the basic propertions right. There are some issues about leg thickness, joints etc., but the overall pose and propertions are good.

As others have said, get a good book on anatomy, and practice on reference shots. There's a girl on DeviantArt who has produced a lot of great action shots for people to use as reference.

Unfortunately I can't remember her name right now, but I will try to find it and return with it.

Hmm, methinks this thread just made into my favorites... I've been trying to figure this stuff out myself. But the FAQ on this on dA is sorely lacking.. or I'm not looking the right places...

I must say, your skills with MS Paint is very very very good. Awesome pic. As others have said: Go check out Paint.NET. It is also a very good program and I think it is a fair "light-weight" substitute for Photoshop.

Both look great! Overall, I like the second best, although there is something odd about the leg on Valkarye in that picture.

I loved both videos! The first for its refreshing serenity and the tribute to the fallen heroes.

And the other for the sheer madness and comedy.

Here's another sketch of mine. This is Elenor Seahawk. She is my main villain. A necro/poison mastermind. I am not completely happy with either the pose or the propertions. But it is very much a WIP, I just wanted to get it out there.

Thank you very much. Incidentally I have just uploaded an image my wife made. She is quite talented, although, she insists she can only draw on the computer.
