  1. I currently have a lvl 42 rad/sonic/dark, and am enjoying it far too much not to finish off the last 10 levels.

    Basically, I'm looking for some opinions towards what I should be going for in the way of set bonuses.

    Firstly, I was going to go for some haste to get both AM and hasten perma-ed, because with the 3 LOTGs I already have I'm pretty close and it shouldnt take much effort to get them perma.

    After that, I'm at a loss, normally I'd try to work in some sort of defense, but with the numbers I've done, RI basically floors enemy hit chance, so unless I got that wrong defense isnt going to be super useful, except to take a alpha strike or survive the clever guys not sitting in the RI.

    That said, I've got weave and planning on keeping it (partly for the LOTG slot), and am currently sitting at around 16% defense to everything with both 3% uniques and weave and maneuvers.

    So after that, I'm not really sure what to be aiming for in a build, I guess damage bonuses, or some sort of Hold/status protection?

    Not really looking for builds per-se, more opinions of what is good and what works. Also, any advice towards incarnate slotting would be very welcome, currently thinking Musculature in alpha.

  2. I think I'm going to go with TW/EA for now, if I don't like that, I'll definitely be making a SD of some sort, probably EM.

  3. Mucking around with Mids, I managed to make a soft-capped SD, I probably haven't done it the most efficient way, but I only have 19 slots left.

    Also thanks Hopeling for the tip about the 3% def from gladiator's.
    Normally I don't even look at the pvp or purple sets because they are too expensive, but I guess the enhancement converters have brought prices down.

    I'm still leaning towards EA though, mostly due to having higher defense values from its abilities and not having to give over half the slots in my build to get softcapped. I can live with a psi-hole, I've had it on the tanker, its probably going to be worse on a scrapper, but with some luck the bigger damage will make up for it, also what fun is the game if you don't have any chance of faceplanting.

    What drew me to EA initially, was that the powerset did most of the defense for you, throw in the +recharge aura and energy drain. Compared to AAO and SC, just doesn't feel it compares, I'm probably totally undervaluing the benefit of +dmg on a scrapper though.
  4. Hi, I currently have a lvl50 INV/SS Tanker that is IOed out, and a older EM/ELA Brute also 50 that is IOed out.
    I don't play the brute much anymore though I still play the tanker most of the time.
    I'm looking to make a scrapper that has similar levels of survivability to the INV tank, but with more damage and no rage crashes.
    So I settled on either EM/SD or TW/EA.
    Having played with mids a bit to compare the two only with SOs slotted just to get a base comparison, EA seems to come out much further ahead defense wise. I'm kind of leaving towards EA, but I've heard good things about AAO and the LR/SC combo.

    Basically I have a few questions that I hope someone would be able to help me out with;

    How easy is to to get SD def softcapped to all 3 positions?
    Is positional defense as reliable as typed defense? (I've read there are some abilities that don't have a position tag at all.)

    Any other suggestions about either the two combinations or variations or even other scrapper combos would be very much appreciated.

  6. Unless it's out of date, the wiki says the tanker hp cap at 50 is 3534, and with DP up I'd be at 3611.
    Though I only would have perma-DP if I had perma-Hasten and with hasten on I'm still 18~ seconds off that. Even with Spiritual T4 I'd be 6.5 seconds off perma-Hasten.

    After some more tweaking, came up with this.

    It gets me 45% against all typed except Psi (obviously), above the HP cap with DP up.

  7. Wow that is much better, thanks.

    EDIT: After fiddling with it a bit more, I came up with this, which I'm pretty happy with since with Accolades and Cardiac I've gotten my net END/s to above 2 which I'm fine with.
    I'll use this one unless anyone has some suggestions to where I could squeeze some more useful set bonuses or such.

  8. Hello, first this is my first Tanker though I have a brute, it's geared towards damage more than tanking (ELM/ELA).

    So far with this build I'm at 45.7% S/L Def, 42.9% F/C and 41,9% E/N Def.
    I'm not that stressed about the few percent on F/C/E/N defense, I'm just trying to squeeze the most out of the few slots I have to play around with, and with the level of defense I have I'm not sure where to go next, I've gone for recharge for Footstomping goodness.
    Also of concern is my last two power choices Laser Beam Eyes and my blank lvl 49 choice. I'm not really all that sold on Conserve Power either, though I'm feeling I really need Phys. Perf. and I'm not seeing any other real viable choices to keep my end up.

    I also haven't decided on my A Slot yet, trying to decide between Cardiac and Spiritual, although Nerve would Cap me to the other 2 pairs of damage.

    I'm open to any suggestions at all, although I'm not loaded so no purples or PvPs or multiple Kinetic Combats.

  9. Any ballpark figure on how expensive those sets would be?
    I have 600M stored up as I've been pretty indecisive with my characters up to now getting 4 or 5 to high 30s and low 40s. This is also the only 50 I have and probably will have for quite some time.

    I had 5 slots left over because I didn't know what to do with them same with lightning field.

    After playing around with the build some more and accepting the fact it would me too much to get the last 2 seconds off perma-energize, which when I thought about it isn't that big of a deal to me anyway, I came up with this.

    I managed to get my S/L defense to 32.8% while keeping hasten permanent and making some better slot uses I think.

    If anyone has any comments or critiques I'd really appreciate it as I have no idea what I'm doing.
    Also final concern with this newer build is that I hardly slot my pool powers (1 in FA 2 in Phys. Perf. and none in Superior Conditioning)
    I want/wanted that pool because I'm intending on taking Spiritual Alpha instead of Cardiac and with all the toggles I would run I'm using 2.41 end/sec while only recovering 3.29 end/sec which I know isn't as big of a deal as it would be if I didn't have power sink.
    If someone wants to sell me on another power pool, I'd be all ears.

  11. Hello, this is my first serious attempt at building a IO set build for one of my characters as I'm relatively new to the game.
    As the title says I'm trying to come up with a build for my Electric Melee\Electric Armour Brute.

    What I'm aiming for is Perma-Haste, as close to or Perma-Energize if possible and as high as possible Smashing and Lethal Defense.
    Currently I have Energy Mastery for my Ancillary Pool but I'm not completely set on it though need to be "sold" on another pool.

    Below is my current build, I've already got the Perma-Haste and I'm 1.8 seconds off perma-Energize and I think 7.5% off S/L softcap?
    I am planning on going with Spiritual Core Paragon in my A-Slot and am happy to deal with the gap until I get it.
    The main problems I've been having is at least in my attempts, is having to drop sets into my damage abilities that while giving either S/L defense or Recharge but giving no damage through the enhancement itself to the power. (Perfect Zinger in Thunderstrike for example).
