That's sorta the whole point. I like to multitask with my rigs: listening to music, installing programs, downloading something, running a converter, and texting the girls at the same time. Turning off the speaker, because an installer won't stop playing a tune is a setback.
I know it's not the end of the world: but giving a means to kill it would be nice.
I'm pretty PC savy, so after I noticed it wasn't showing up in Taskmgr, I just used HighjackThis to locate the process and terminate it without ending the actual install. But not everyone is like that... and I know I can't be the only person who thinks it's bothersome.
I've played two other MMO aside from CoH -
Ragnarok Online and
Champions Online (beta) - neither of which play music during their install to the hard drive. Only after the program is started.
CoH should strive to be better than WoW - so this is one good step.

well CO would be an online download, bet there will be music when you can have a disc install, perhaps you dl'd the other as well?
