  1. Paragon Paradox
    by Ian Watteau

There was a new villain loose in Paragon City. He wasn’t your everyday run-of-the
mill bad guy. He was different in that he didn’t fight for money or for power. He fought for ideals, and he was winning.
    Paradox was his name.
When I first studied his case file, I assumed like most others that he was a simple man with a twisted sense of humor. Turns out, he was more than that. He was an abnormal human being with a morbid outlook on life. He saw good and evil as being one and the same. I’m not talking about Yin and Yang here. I’m talking about the two terms as if they were one word, like Yiang, or whatever you’d like to call it.
Beyond that, Paradox was a bit of a mystery. What little he showed of himself was brief and fleeting. The fact he was a gifted Teleporter was the reason for this. If you blinked, you lost him. One second he was there. The next, he was gone–a true Paradox.
But, that’s not how he got his name.
“It’s over, Paradox!” my voice boomed down the expansive shaft of the bleach white hallway.
Paradox slowed to a stop and slowly turned around. He flashed me a crooked smile.
“I’m afraid it’s just the beginning for you and I,” he amusedly replied while stretching his arms into the air. In one hand, he held a small vile. In the other, he clutched a black box between his tense fingers.
The first Super Hero to experience the plight that was Paradox was a young female Blaster who went by the pseudonym Mercury. She was lured to an abandoned warehouse in King’s Row one evening under the pretense she was going to find and recover a small boy who had been abducted the night before by Paradox. The ransom letter Paradox left for the police gave specific directions to the warehouse. Its only demand was that a Super Hero should come and fetch the child at the stroke of midnight.
Mercury worked closely with the police. She offered her assistance to the PD whenever a case appeared to be beyond their capabilities. Adorned in her trademark slate-gray form-fitting outfit, she entered the shadow laden warehouse at the police’s request a few minutes before midnight. Mercury’s only ambition was that this would be a simple affair. She wanted to save the kid. She wanted a happy ending. But unfortunately for her, that was not the case.
Much to Mercury’s surprise, she noticed Paradox had a second victim with him. It was a small black boy. The child wore baggy pants that fell several inches past his boney hips. Kicking and screaming, the young man stared down at the pool of acid beneath him with a pained expression on his youthful caramel-colored face.
The boy Mercury had come for, Daniel Owens was his name, hung in the air above the pool of acid next to the small black boy. The two were about the same age, eleven or so, and they were both sobbing uncontrollably. Mercury furrowed her brow with concern and sympathy when her sharp green eyes fell upon their dangling forms. But when she heard Paradox’s voice call to her, her body stiffened noticeably with alarm.
“Easy now,” Paradox spoke from the shadows, “my demands are simple. You needn’t concern yourself with fighting me.”
“What are you up to?” Mercury asked in a bold voice. “Let Daniel and this other boy go!”
Paradox’s white teeth shined through the shadows as his lips cracked into a devious smile.
“I want to present you with a little paradox,” he said. “I want you to save one of these two boys, but only one. You can’t save them both. For you see, when you remove one of them from their restraints, the other will fall immediately into the pool of acid below. Now, as I speak, I know you are probably trying to think of a way to save them both. So I’ve taken the liberty of starting a timer that will hopefully hinder your ability to do just that. You have ten seconds then, to save one of these two boys before they drop together into the pool of acid below. Ten seconds then, starting... now!”
And that’s how Paradox got his name. That’s the type of game he played. He was a villain because he destroyed Super Heros by presenting them with dilemmas that would forever haunt them. Mercury, for instance, never returned to crime fighting after she saved the kidnaped child she had been sent to retrieve. The memory of the little black boy burning in the pool of acid forever marred her dreams. She retired from the Super Hero business guilt-stricken and defeated. The rest of her days were spent in miserable solitude.
“I won’t hesitate to kill you, Paradox!” I shouted down the hallway, my right hand catching fire as I prepared to attack.
“You needn’t worry about killing me,” Paradox retorted. “I have already taken the liberty of killing myself. In my right hand, inside the small vile you see here, is an engineered plague that has been under development for quite sometime now. I happened to catch it at just the right time, for you see, the scientists working on this little fella here hadn’t quite perfected its communicable properties. Now, I know you might think that means it doesn’t transmit very well. But the opposite is the case, in fact. You see, it spreads too quickly. And because of that, it is not containable. And therefore, it is not applicable at this stage in its development for warfare.”
Though I wasn’t aware of it, I grimaced deeply at what Paradox had just told me.
“Yes, that’s right,” Paradox continued. “The virus is too wild in it’s current state. It’s too chaotic. It has the potential to destroy the entire world.”
“Bull,” I hastily replied, “you’re bluffing.”
Paradox shrugged his broad shoulders and smiled coyly.
“In my other hand,” he went on to say, “is a uniquely designed detonation device. If it drops and hits the floor the nuclear reactor that resides on the Southern tip of Paragon City will explode and suffer a radiation leak the likes of which the world hasn’t seen since Chernobyl. And wouldn’t you know it, the direction the wind is blowing today would push the radiation from such a catastrophe right into the heart of Paragon City. It would kill thousands people and make the city uninhabitable for generations to come.”
My mouth dropped open in amazement at the idea. I wanted to tell Paradox he was full of crap. But somehow, I knew he was telling the truth. He might be lying about one of the two scenarios, but certainly not both of them. It wasn’t in his nature.
Paradox chuckled with delight when he saw my reaction.
“This is the paradox I present to you, young one” he gloated. “Destroy the vile in my left hand with your fire and the virus will be erased from existence, but Paragon City will be destroyed. Destroy the detonation device in my right hand and Paragon City will still die, but so will the rest of the world.”
Staring at Paradox, I clenched my fists in anger. I felt like I had no options. He was standing under a vent in the ceiling. Even if I did set the whole hallway on fire the virus would still get away and disappear into the city. I needed one concise attack to destroy the vile and the wretched hand that held it. Focusing my energies on the path before me, I cursed Paradox’s name and shot a ball of fire at the villain’s outstretched hand. The vile erupted. Paradox’s hand exploded. The blast sent him flying sideways into the adjacent wall. The detonation device fell freely from his other hand. Turning end over end through the air, it hit the floor, bounced once, and settled to a stop.
Paradox cried out in pain. Half of his arm was gone–as was half of his body. He kicked and thrashed across the floor like a rabid animal. His flesh smoldered and sent a pungent odor into the air. I wrinkled my nose, but was content with watching him suffer.
My satisfaction did not last long. Regardless of what I had done, I still lost. The sound of defeat came loud and clear when I heard the ominous rumble of a distant explosion. The hallway I stood in shuddered. The lights flickered. Several car alarms went off outside. I prayed Paradox had been bluffing. Surely, he hadn’t really destroyed a nuclear facility. Not even a Super Villain could pull off such a feat. And yet, Paradox was no ordinary villain.
Raising my hands into the air, I pointed them at Paradox’s charred body and put him out of his misery. After that, I fell against the wall and cried.

Gnarly I found a way to break your binds. When you hold down the forward key while running and zone, the binds mess up when you reappear. Is there anyway to fix this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, either keep pressing on the forward key while you're zoning, or stop pressing it before you zone Otherwise, no. I can't reprogram the game to accept commands while you're zoning.

But a quick Ctrl-R Ctrl-R will fix it if you get messed up, and usually you zone with a metro or a swat guard, so you can stop moving before zoning.

Comparative analysis would require a thorough evaluation of the subject matter. To my knowledge, short of exploits, no one has played all the blaster combinations to a SO level.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Irrelevant. No one player needs to play all blasters to SO levels do conduct a comparative test. The reason this is possible is because unlike yourself, who believes everyone should "try stuff out on their own to learn... like [you] had to.", others are willing to share information.

So given relavent data on a power such as damage against even con, non-resistant/non-vulnerable minions at a given level, slotting information, etc. the base damage, duration, defense, etc. of a power can be determined. This combined with knowledge of endurance cost, activation and recycle times, range, cone angle, area of effect, etc. allows players to conduct an informative analsyis of comparative powers.

I think it is the entire concept of the sharing of information that eludes you.

    [ QUOTE ]
Until that time, anyone posting a guide that speaks to each blaster's abilities is going to have some misunderstandings and misconceptions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If we lived in an isolated world where no one communicated with eachother than you may be right. However, you may be surprised to find that, unlike yourself, a lot of people are willing to share information, strategies, findings, etc. with others to ensure that this doesn't happen.

Players are even willing to work with others to conduct extensive testing that may be difficult or impossible for 1 player to do alone. Visit the tanker boards to see examples of this. Most of it is on base defense values though, which Geko has recently posted the values on, nevertheless it is great info done by players for players.

    [ QUOTE ]
Meanwhile, your post is just a faint echo of the entire peanut gallery. Feel free to stand with them... if you can find a seat. Watch out though, most are on fire or are carrying guns.

Was there a point to this childish remark?
  5. You can still get the bow and arrow animation by using the fancybow emote while any weapon is visible.

Question: In the quick menu, under combat, is an entry titled Come Get Some! It features a taunt that continues after the initial critter beckoning with your character punching his/her fist into his/her palm.

I tried taunt, taunt1, and taunt2, and none of them feature the fist into palm animation.

It sounds like taunt1 used to, but apparently it was changed...Does anyone know the new emote to get this animation playing?
  6. Man, i feel sorry for Robinson, having to deal with all these nutjobs who just don't understand the the concept of using compairitive analysis and logical reasoning.

Please guys, stop taking this thread so personaly.

Just because you have an electricity blaster and you are upset about the fact that endurace drain isn't as good as stun doesn't mean you have to flame Robinson.

Just because you have an ice blaster and your AOE capability isn't as good as an AR or fire blaster doesn't mean you have to flame Robinson.

Please, just check your emotions. It's just a game.

Robinson is trying to talk about things it intellegently with power in mind. Nothing more, nothing less. If you don't like that, fine. But please take your gipes to a thread that suits them better.

Thanks Robinson, this thread is great and you've prooven yourself to be a very smart guy who knows what he's talking about. You should turn this stuff into a full fledged guide and post it on gamefaqs or something.
  7. Thanks, this is great info. I just want to point out that sleep doesn't break on a hit, but rather it breaks on attack. That is, the instant you start an attack, the sleep breaks, whether you actually hit or miss. This is very different than some of the others games out there, so people should be careful, especially around Mind Controllers.
  8. Shockwave walks in the thread smiling...

  9. Dr. Voodoo knelt on a rooftop overlooking the alley. He stared at the new comer, trying to read his aura. He found it more difficult than normal.

    "Hmm. How odd."

He peered down at Kinse. He pulled a small pouch out of his belt and rubbed it between his fingers.

"Good. Kinse will be ok." He put the charm he had attuned to Kinse's aura back in his belt and went back to scrutinizing the new comer.

I've been using it on my AR/Fire character, and I decided that tactically, it'd be wise to not have it automatically cue an attack.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oops, I forgot that there were Ranged Weapons also! Most blasters just use their hands, not a physical drawn weapon. Ok, you're absolutely right, of course, you don't want to automatically attack anything you have targeted whenever you stop moving, so this doesn't work with range. With Melee, if you're close enough to attack, then you probably WANT to attack, or you wouldn't have gotten that close. With ranged, you may just be scouting.

Now you're right, I don't really NEED to use unqueue (which is what puts away your weapon) when canceling sprint. The unqueue is just in case you accidentally got out of whack and sprint is OFF when you're moving, that it doesn't get turned ON when you stop. So the "Fix" for you is to just get rid of the unqueue completely, and not replace it with an attack power.

To do this with the current binds version, just enter an "X" for the powername, instead of Slug or whatever. That will replace the Unqueue, which is what makes you put away your gun, and since you don't actually HAVE a power called "X", nothing else will be done either. It's just a null, essentially.

What is the downside? The binds will just get confused a bit more, and stopping won't clear the problem, because if Sprint is off while running, stopping will now turn it on. STARTING to move again WILL clear the problem, so you probably won't even notice. If it happens, no need to even press your run key to reset, just stop and then start moving again.

Like I said, it worked for my scrapper. He did not put away his sword, and he did not attack, and if he had a power queued, it did not clear when he stopped. But it DID clear when he started again, of course, so this doesn't really help for queueing a ranged power and then moving into range to fire it. You still need to start running, THEN queue the power, and it'll fire when you get into range. Anyway, try that, and see if it works for your AR blaster, and let us know?

Oh, and replace all references to Sprint with Super Speed, in your case Works the same.

    Gnarly

PS. If the results are good and the binds don't break very often without the unqueue, then I may get rid of this confusing option altogether. I added the unqueue for added robustness, and self-correction of the binds, but if it's more trouble then it's worth, it's history. I'll be trying it out this way myself, but everybody let me know if you guys have any problem without using unqueue (those of you who try it) because it may act differently in different situations, connection speeds, etc.

Although only going further to prove my point of by picking on numbers (and the use of ice instead of frost), I will admit that your numbers seem fine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually you'd be further *disproving* your point by continuing posting on the numbers. Also the reason my numbers seem fine is because they are. Again, if you want to use numbers, why not use the correct ones?

    [ QUOTE ]
If I was off by a couple seconds, whatever... you obviously are ignoring the more important parts and picking on whatever fine points you can.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually when considering killing speeds, every second does matter. The difference between 6 seconds for fire versus 16.7 seconds for ice is a factor of nearly 2.8. In other words, ice has about 36% the killing speed (or XP generation rate) of fire. In practice the time to find foes, sell enhancements, breaks, etc. all bring them closer in line - but from a purely powergaming point of view, ice is not in fires league imo.

Further, the faster the foes die, the less attacks they can get off. Surviving 1 volley of attacks is easier than 2+. I'll concede that with SG this isn't much of a factor against yellows and below though.

    [ QUOTE ]
Actually, the original poster started it when he posted theories on blasters he hasn't experienced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you want to get into what the original poster posted, you may want to go back and re-read his original post. He clearly states his playing experience and the premise on which he based his opinions. Anyone can test his claims because he has backed them up stating the build, powers, slots, foes to be fought, etc. that he considered optimal.

Again, anyone can test his claims to either verify or refute his assertations. He didn't simply throw out numbers that are unsubstatiated and unable to be verified because he was using some 'secret' strategy against 'secret' foes. That would go against the entire premise of this thread and is the point you continue to miss.

    [ QUOTE ]
I simply have picked on points about one of those blasters he hasn't played all the way up, and obviously not built for anything but single target damage/killing... since that is what he recommends.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I should point out that you haven't played an ice blaster all the way up either. However, you do have a point in that RSRobinson may not have built his ice blaster around AoE. However, it isn't very difficult to prove conclusively that an ice blaster is never going to be able to compete with fire (or higher level assault) in AoE.

    [ QUOTE ]
I guess my previous posts, saying I think his guide was helpful and only had grievences with some of his ice comments, were never read.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually they were read. However, you keep missing the point of this thread. Please re-read the original post. Then read the bolded sentences that I wrote to you but that you failed to address (and quoted around in your response to me):

    [ QUOTE ]
This is a thread to help others with quickly leveling a blaster. RSRobinson has created a helpful guide to help players. It gives insight into primary / secondaries considerations, powers to select / avoid, advise on how to slot them, where to hunt, etc. Simply put, it is a resource.

If you don't want to take part in that, then don't, but please stop derailing this thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you still truly feel that ice can level "almost as quickly as fire" as you claimed, then prove it. The numbers don't back it up. My experiences don't back it up. In fact, I think you are the only poster I have ever read to make such a claim. Why make such a claim and then refuse to prove its veracity?

    Oh that's right you claim:
    [ QUOTE ]
While you may enjoy making a guide and outlining this, I prefer not to see cookie cutter builds and would like people to try stuff out on their own to learn... like I had to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

First, no one forced you to try stuff out on your own to learn even if you claim you "had to". You were always able to use these boards (or the beta ones) or other players in the game as a resource.

Second, if you truly feel that way then why are you posting on this thread again?
  12. [ QUOTE ]

    What post did you read?
I think I understand why people start cursing on forums now. No one reads. It appears unless you are telling someone how cool their build is, only every 18th word is read.

    [/ QUOTE ]

...and apparently, no one replies, either. Man, in a decade on the Net, nothing has EVER changed. Trolls are still using the "respond to every question with an unrelated question, followed by a nebulous claim that they've previously answered the original query, but nobody was smart enough to understand it" ploy.

I guess it's always good to go with the classics.
  13. I'd go with Vega, but its already taken along with Visceral.
  14. I like Visceral a lot, thanks for the name.
  15. What is the point of choosing ice? If you want AE, choose fire. If you want single targets, choose energy. If you want both, choose assault. Sorry but ice is not that good, nor is it effective for AE. You get one good AE attack - ice breath. It has a long recharge (even with hasten) and takes more than 1 use just to kill a group of whites. Ice storm sucks, and you could get FSC I guess.... at the cost of not having the great devices powers. If you want to AE you go Fire/Devices though, trying to do it with ice is just gimping yourself for no reason.
  16. Lightning_fast:

Why did it take about 5 pages and a week before you'd finally admit you were AoE killing by using 2 frost breaths?

That's nothing magical and there's no Uber Brilliant build going on there. What's fancy about using a single cone attack twice? Nothing.

RSRobinson already made the point earlier that if you were relying on frost breath twice, the same logic would make energy an even better AoE blaster since energy torrent does a better job and has a faster recharge than frost breath.

You seem to be having fun acting high and mighty and turning your nose down at anyone who tries to analyze things. Then the truth finally came out that you were doing exactly what everyone thought you were doing from the first time you posted.
  17. I'd love to have a Secret Identity.
I'm happy to be able to have a casual outfit, when I'm not running around in my tights.

  18. I can never seem to think up great names for my heroes. I've made a Spine Scrapper tonight and all I can think of are rejects. Here's the backstory I've written:

He was once Paul Vega, a member of the worlds leading bionic research team at Biokinetics Inc, his world fell apart when he learned that it was not mankind that was benefiting from his research, but instead it was being sold on the black market. Dr. Vega's research fell into the hands of many notorious gangs and villains, ranging from The Lost to Crey Industries.

When Vega's superiors at Biokinetics learned he planned to resign from the team and go public, they kidnapped his colleagues including Jody Fuller, Paul's life long love. With the threat of execution, Paul made a drastic and life altering decision, he infused his body with one of his prototype experiments.

In the epic battle that ensued, Biokinetics Inc was ultimately defeated but Vega failed to save Jody or the other kidnapees during the destruction. With his life shattered, he now seeks an answer to how it all went wrong. Armed with the uncanny abblity to control spines from his body and unsurpassed healing abilities, he vowes to keep Paragon safe.
  19. Cowman : The woman tormenting Slate was a high-ranking 5th Column captain. She was a sadist and utterly devoid of empathy for fellow human beings. Little did she know, however, there was a spy inside the 5th Column's secret facility and only one agency had managed to pull it off. Seated outside the facility's compound in the back of an unmarked van, TK listened to the various bugs in place in the facility with intrigue. Something chaotic was going down tonight, and the event showed no signs of slowing down. TK's only concern was that one of the bugs had been found by a random sweep of the facility. Now the 5th Column was hellbent on searching the prison until they were sure they had located every listening device. TK prayed she was able to find out what was going on before the devices were found.

Xaphan : The interrogator nodded his head. An odd smile rested on his lips. "You lie, sir," he spoke plainly. "A nanobot can hardly hold the amount of memory it would require to give you your powers and also destroy the chemical that is the source of your powers. It is either one or the other." The man pressed his finger firmly into the red button and held it for several seconds. The clamp crushed down on Piyerus' fingers with a horrific amount of pressure. It was maddening how much pain it caused. And yet, as quickly as it came it was gone. The interrogator straightened his posture and signaled for the guards to come join him. "Take this man to the Lab. He contains a chemical inside him that must be found, cultured, and synthesized."

Philbe : Lt. Ovilo stayed by the commander's side as he prepared to inspect the facility. She assumed the man would tire of her presence as he did with most everyone, so she tactfully decided to bring up another issue besides the issue of the nanobots. "Sir," she said, "we found a listening device inside the facility today. We believe we have a spy within our ranks. I don't mean to present you with problems, sir. So, I think I have an answer to the source of the dilemma." Lt. Ovilo cleared her throat before speaking again. "For quite sometime now motion detectors have been going off within the facility in deserted hallways. Survelliance footage shows nothing on the screen. So, I had a thermal camera installed at several locations. The image of a man could clearly be seen. Apparently, this unknown individual has a cloaking device of some sort and he enters the compound every other day at 7pm to retrieve and collect data. Somone in the 5th Column is letting him into our facility. If this unknown man maintains his schedule, he will return to the prison in exactly 30minutes. This is perfect timing considering the fact you're now heading to the compound, sir."

ItheAwittN1 : The sound of footsteps echoed past Helsing's cell, but no one was there. The sound of breathing and fabric rubbing against fabric could be heard as well, but still... no one was there. No doubt, Helsing might think he was hearing things, but when a voice asked him, "what is your name and how long have you been here?" Helsing knew for sure there was someone standing in front of his cell. The man, however, could not be seen.

    [ QUOTE ]
Heck, i'll even use exact numbers, since that seems to be more important than reality.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would have been better to use *correct* numbers instead of exact but incorrect numbers.

TV - 10 packs of lts, -1 level.
Full Time Haste (6 slotted rech)
    Caltrops/smoke
Ice Breath (5 slotted dmg, 1 rech)
    Ice Breath (same)

Since it's all about the numbers and not real game time... total battle time, including animations 13-14 seconds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Activation time for *frost breath* (not sure what ice breath is - my ice/ice blaster sure doesn't have it) is 3 seconds with a 16 second recharge. Activation time for SG is 2 seconds and 1 second for caltrops. Assuming you used the powers in the exact order you listed, SG + caltrops + frost breath + 2nd frost breath would take a total time of 16.7 seconds with hasten. Further, this is assuming you are using a +3 level recharge SO in frost breath. If you use caltrops after your first frost breath you'd save 1 second.

In either case, you are *not* at 13-14 seconds unless your hypothetical ice breath (in whatever game you are playing) has a faster activation/recharge time than frost breath in CoH.

For comparison, a Fire / Dev blaster could use the SG + fire breath + fire ball combo in 6 seconds. About 2.8 times faster.

    [ QUOTE ]
Based on XP needed per level and xp/mob, you would have to kill about 170 groups at lvl 28 (or close). Taking a rather leisurely group/minute number of 2 (I like to stroll, maybe kill a missed mob or 2), it would take a grand total of 86 minutes to level. Say what? How can that be?

    [/ QUOTE ]

How can that be? Easy. We are playing the theory game, remember? You should as you were the one that started it.

    [ QUOTE ]
Damnit, fire must be faster! By math, it is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, it is. Assuming the fire / dev blaster did 4 groups / minute (24 seconds of combat / minute versus 33.4 seconds / minute for your ice / dev blaster) he would level in 42.5 minutes. This is assuming 170 groups / level. That's twice as fast even assuming that the fire blaster spends less time in combat and more time roaming (which is reasonable since he needs to find more groups to slaughter).

I have 3 blasters. My highest is a 30s energy/dev but I also have an ice/ice and a fire/dev blaster in their 20s. I can state from experience that both in theory and in practice that a fire blaster will significantly outlevel an ice blaster.

Does this mean my ice blaster is gimp? No. He's just not as good at powerleveling as my fire blaster.

This is a thread to help others with quickly leveling a blaster. RSRobinson has created a helpful guide to help players. It gives insight into primary / secondaries considerations, powers to select / avoid, advise on how to slot them, where to hunt, etc. Simply put, it is a resource.

    Fellow aliens and friend humans,

Greetings and blessings to the inhabitants of Earth. I am K’ora Vtal, Matriarch and leader of the Ky’r’ri people. Like some of you, I am not from this planet, but from a planet known as T’rakus, far from this part of the known galaxy. Also like many of you, my people have been attacked and subjugated by the vile Rikti. I and a few hundred of my people survived the holocaust, and by a strange stroke of T’raka’s blessing, I alone came to Earth to live in an unwanted exile.

While on this planet, I have seen your planet’s protectors, the ‘heroes’, fight against the Rikti and defeat them in a way other races could not. I have also seen the dual nature of your people towards others not born on this planet. Many of your billboards and signs around your city speaks of ‘humans for earth’ and foster xenophobic tendencies for those of alien origin.

I make this statement in the hopes that my words will correct some of the fallacies of these declarations by members of the organization known as the Vanguard. Not all aliens are out to destroy your planet. Quite the contrary, many of the non-earth residents on this planet have come to join forces with the earth heroes in fending off the attack on Earth by the Rikti. We have seen the power of the Earth heroes first hand, and realize that these people could very well be the last best hope for the cosmos. We are not here to subvert your race, or do anything to harm you, only to fight alongside you so that Earth can remain free for humans to live upon.

Therefore, I offer this declaration to all alien refugees to stand united with our new friends of Earth: to aid them in their struggle, and fight back against the genocidal power of the Rikti invaders. I also make this declaration to the people of Earth. Consider us simply as those that wish to partake in the freedoms and liberties that we no longer can call our own on our own worlds. We are visitors, some even immigrants to this world, hoping that one day the evil of those that seek destruction of all life are thwarted, and we can unite together in peace and unity.

    May T’raka bless you all.

Sadly. Too much misinformation and too many confused kids.

    Yes!

I have given 2 examples up to now. I know many people don't read and probably never saw them. Another Ice blaster (33) gave a possible solution. I'll give even one last one, a specific example based on everyone's desire for me to use 2 frost breaths. Heck, i'll even use exact numbers, since that seems to be more important than reality.

If your findings do not coincide with RSRobinson's orginal statements, then you MUST be wrong. As a matter of fact, if when he makes his level 5 Ice blaster, and does not find it posisble to solo efficiently using frost breath.... Well then, your WRONG and you probably DONT even play COH!

Damnit, fire must be faster! By math, it is. RSR states that he could get AR down to that speed, even lower, but no way ice could get close. In fact, my original statement of 120 minutes of in-game time was obviously embellished according to RSR, despite it being almost 50% more time that my relaxed example above.

The few times i decided to get xps for my ice toon, I went from 21-27 in 5 hours in dark astoria (Ice/Eng) <--- Maybe I should have checked with the poster of this thread first??.... Then ofcourse back to the top of the brickstown tram station for me!!!

So what now? Obviously if everyone isn't leveling this fast or faster, it must be human error. Bad clicks, bad cone aim (happens to fire too... fire breath and all), grab a coke, hit the restroom, etc.

Hmmmmm...... Your probably just wrong or something, I mean I didn't see that anywhere in the guide *opens first page *

all you did was provide your opinion based on your own research.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Isn't that what RSRobinson was basing HIS experiences off? His OWN research?!

Which only happens to be with a few of the combinations possible concerning blaster classes?

And then coming to certain conclusions which couldn't be further from the truth??? WOW

It had a lot of good information and helped see a few mistakes I was about to make with my AR/Dev blaster

The ENTIRE reason ppl 'fight' in the FIRST place is over the creditability of these statements.......
ACCORDING TO WHOM were the choices you were making a mistake???
