I read what you wrote above. It's the same tortured logic that the anti-healer forces have been using for 5 years. Empathy is a set focused on restoring life, i.e. healing. That doesn't mean that that is all it can do, it's just what it's focused on.

But that doesn't work in the anti-healer playbook so we take ridiculous logical leaps to avoid calling something that heals a heal.

Actually, the devs have ALWAYS maintained that you get your key power early on, and your more specialized ones later. Your early powers are the ones you're expected to use early and often.

As to the main topic...sigh.

Healing is powerful and useful, but not strictly necessary because characters can have extensive regeneration/heals on their own in CoH. It's not that healing isn't important, it's that everyone has/can have it to a reasonable degree.

Buffs are important too. I think anyone who ignores either buffs or heals is a noob. I expect rads to take and use their heal. I expect empaths to take and use their buffs. The sets are balanced around the whole. The anti-healer forces want to minimize the role of healing, to the detriment of their teams, in my opinion. They are no different that the folks who do the opposite and think heals are the end all of mitigation.

I've managed to get a Freebird +Stealth and a Devastation Chance for hold. I think I've gotten some others, but in crap sets so I'm not sure if they are Pool A, B or C.

I've always been fair. What I was pointing out was that search is flighty at best. Using your instructions, you come up with nothing. Using "in subject and body" requires you to spend some time sifting through older posts, which you can't necro anyway and not run afoul of the rules.

And the funny thing is I bet almost no one would object if BAB were to post that he's found a way to do vehicles and they're coming soon. Wait... someone would object, because people object to everything on these boards!

Just out of curiosity, I did this, added the additional search terms "car", "cycle", "jet" and looked for all posts within a year. Found nothing. Certainly not enough for anyone to post to the thread and not be accused of necro-posting.

Posters: Please ignore the advice to search first. Just check the most recent 200 or so topics. Search on this terrible forum software is too funky and the anti-suggestion forces will just tell you you're beating a dead horse anyway.

I'm all for an Acrobatics pool, but I think it needs to be cooler visually whatever the mechanics are. Sabertooth in XMO: Wolverine being a good start for what it should look like. I fear that technically it's too difficult, but I don't see this as worth doing unless it's done right.

Mechanics aside, in this case Fitness makes the most thematic sense. Fighting is OK, but it's supposed to represent training in fighting. Fitness though works with both the team of a character enhanced by superdine.

And besides. If she's been dragging around a big honking sword for 40 levels, she's probably pretty fit.

I'm rocking CoH at unprecedented levels of performance (by my standards, anyway) on a generic Dell I picked up for 300 bucks during a Christmas sale. Slapped in the video card from my old computer, an ATI card that was top of the line about 4 years ago that would set you back maybe $50 bucks if you bought it now and I was good to go.

Plays CoH smooth at high detail, does great with CoD 4 and BF2142, kicks behind running DoW, and that's all I need it to do.

I mean it'd be great to have some kind of $3,000 bleeding edge rig, but you can play pretty much everything just fine with the computer version of frankenslotted IOs.

I just both a $50 ATI cheapo card, because my previous card died and wanted to take the rest of my PC with it. I just bought the card until I had the time to investigate a new card. I was shocked how well it ran CoH and the couple of other games I play. So I've just stuck with it and been very happy.
