I know I'm a day (or five) late, but thanks Mid! I've found your tool indispensable from day one. I'm sorry to see you go.

Just thought I'd post a solution/workaround for the flickering/tearing screen in CoH that worked for me. I tried turning on Triple Buffering and forcing Vertical Sync on at the driver and it didn't work *until* I also turned 2x Antialiasing at the driver (and no, I don't have a clue why it worked). Now all seems well, even though it doesn't actually turn Antialiasing on in the game until I change the in-game settings.
This is on a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop with an NVidia 7900GS card in it and Win7 64 bit 1.0 drivers. Actually found the fix when I downgraded to Vista 169.09 64 bit drivers. -
Thanks for the tips Gyffes. I'll take your advice about moving slots from Health to TG (makes sense thinking about it). It's true about Dark Consumption's recharge rate being too long, and the only thing I like about it is it's the same recharge as Atomic Blast.
And things aren't so slow anymore with the AVs in Faultline. Darkest Night just loves AVs.
Thanks again! -
Great guide Gyffes! It just so happens I decided on these power sets in December. I'm up to 27 and truckin' along. I picked Radiation because of the large amount of AoEs, even to the point of skipping X-ray eyes. The idea was to get in point blank after laying down tar patch, fearsome stare and possibly an Electron Haze (in which case I center the tar patch slightly behind the baddies to compensate for kb), then move in point blank for as much Irradiate as possible. In between Irradiates is Cosmic Burst, Sand of Mu and Neutrino Bolts, and at higher levels, Neutron Bomb.
As for the epics (and this is just conjecture at this point), the Dark pool seems to fit well. Dark Consumption should be handy just after the Atomic Blast nuke, at least if I pop a blue pill to power the minuscule cost of Dark Consumption (assuming anything is left to hit). Also, triple stacked disorients from Oppressive Gloom, Howling Twilight (you can use it even if no one needs rezzed), and Cosmic Burst should be enough to get a boss and everyone else in the spawn, although I'm not sure about magnitudes here.
EDIT: Added Cosmic Burst above
Anyway, here's my build. I welcome any advice that comes my way:

Hey, thanks Colette. I've always been interested in RP, and you've given me a good place to start.

I had a few lockups on info screens when trying fastwrites off a couple of months ago and went back to fastwrites on. I recently installed Omega's 6.2 and went for the fastwrites off option. Had another info screen lockup and switched back again. Best I can remember I never had an info screen lockup with fastwrites on.
ATI 9600 mobility 128 mb on a Dell 8500/8600 with Centrino 1.5.
Hope that helps Bill. -
That's about what we were talking about in the posts above yours.

Anisotropic Filtering - Modifies the crispness of world textures, making it easier to distinguish fine lines. Doesn't affect framerate, and turning it on automatically changes "Texture Crispness" to Smooth.

Just a general disagreement here. Anistropic Filtering impacts my framerate (at least on my laptop with ATI 9600 128mb). I haven't checked the impact on my desktop pc. My fps can go from 15 to 25 just by turning it off. I turn textures to 'crisp' in an attempt to compensate for all the blurriness. -
I think the 'Grazed' idea is beautiful, conceptually, Ravenbane. Of course, I know nothing of the implementation side, not being an mmo coder.
You could even make it a single calculation based on a multiplier of the defense. The closer it was to a miss, the less damage taken. The closer to the multiplier, the more the damage taken until normal damage is reached. -
FYI: I tried downloading the files (all 3) with the default Windows downloader and they came up corrupt. Turns out they were only partially dling. I had to use my dl manager to get the complete files.

Don't know if you are using the exact typing from your bind, but it would be 'C:\' not '/' (ignore the quotes of course).

Hey, while we're at it, I thought I saw a 'jagged' chat bubble (as in an exclamation). Was I mistaken or has anyone else seen it? Or better yet, does anyone know how to reproduce it?

Just began researching this myself...
You can use hex values for colors. The only format difference is <color #xxxxxx>. Notice the number sign preceding the 6 digit color value.
What are some values, you ask? I found a color chart at http://www.lynda.com/hexpalette/images/nhue2.gif
There are other places I'm sure.
Happy color chatting all!
