    Uber veterans

63+ month vet here as well.

1 - Energyman was the first toon I created and I still constantly pull him out and play with him. He's not ubered out or anything, I have altitis, but he was around pre I1.

2 - Enerygman was the first, Psi-Vox was my second toon and I only recently got him 50.

3 - I used to want to try a little of everything and refused to do powers/ATs I had tried before. However I've since gone back on that because of my love for the Electric power sets. I recently started up my Elec/Kin Corruptor pre I16 and of course post I16 I have an Elec/Elec tank. What can I say I think Elec is underrated and the drain is a great tool if used right especially on teams.
  2. I'll second Bots/Storm. As mentioned when solo knockback isn't a problem. With your slows and debuffs running you'll do plenty of damage with the bots and you'll get AoE with all the upgrades. I was able to take down a couple of the non-signature AVs without much hassel like Silver Mantis with just basic IO slotting.

You'll have a lot of surivability with the bots and yourself especially in bodyguard mode. The build is good for teaming as well. Sure you'll have to watch the knockback and may have to limit the use of things like hurricane but you'll have plenty of other tools the team will love. It really is a good choice that synergizes well.
  3. I'd like to see a Grandville map around the giant statue of Lord Recluse and perhaps a ruined version of it as well. The Atlas Park equivilents exist and a Grandville version would have been cool for my Arc.

    Elec/Elec/Elec

Lightning field isn't good for initially flooring mobs, but once you've floored them with SC and PS if you stay in LF range and have a couple endmods slotted into it they should stay pretty well floored. Another power that is underrated for putting an endmod or two into is ball lightning. It also have a -Recovery aspect to it and since you're already standing there doing AoE with SC and LF to drain adding a little to BL only helps in that regard. All that combined you can keep mobs drained and keep the AoE damage ticking.
  5. I don't know if it's been said enough, but I think CoX has the best devs of any game I've played. How often do you find games where the fans dictate the direction of the game as much as here? Power Customization is just another piece in a long list of pieces the devs have gone above and beyond to give us the players what we want in a game instead of just what their vision of a game should be. What's even more amazing is they are doing it depite what they originally thought were system limitations. They found a way to give this to us and I for one just want ot say thank you to the CoX Dev teams for everything they've done for us over the years.
  6. Elec/Elec is a good set but it blooms a little later than the others in my opinion. The real jewels of the set come in when you get short circuit and power sink if you want to be able to sapp mobs. Sapping is a bit of a topic around here as it's an all or nothing soft control method, you either take all their endurance with short circuit and power sink used together, or you don't take enough endurance to stop them from attacking.

If you go the sapper route it's good to watch the mobs just sit there with no endurance and unable to do much while you waste them away. The ability to sapp makes up for any lower damage or slower recharge times elec/elec will see over other blaster builds. While I don't play much with the melee powers from /elec it's widely recognized they are some of the best in blaster sets as well. If you wind up going elec/elec/elec then you'll find yourself with 3 hold total, 2 of which are at range, which helps even further to control the mobs and lock down a boss to a non-threat. I love my elec/elec/elec blaster and would recommend one any day.
  7. Now that you say that is makes total sense. Thinking back on it the team was comprised of me at 23, a 30 I sk'd up to, a 31, and a 34. We were running the 31's missions as they were the same as my 30 mentors so they got them completed together. The 34 dinged early in the first mission or so which would have made him 35 as you mentioned and my mentor didn't ding until later in the night when I noticed the XP. So even though we weren't running the 35s missions his lvl affected my XP generation? Mystery solved I guess. Thanks. I totally need to pay more attention to stuff like lvls and XP generation instead of just having fun.
  8. I ran into this bug last night on Champion. I meant to /bug it before I logged but completely forgot to so I thought I'd mention it here.

I was on my 23 Emp/Psi Def last night and decided to team up with some friends of mine all of whom are in the 30-32 range. I was sk'd up with a lvl 30 Dark/Shield Scrapper giving me a lvl 29 combat level. We were running missions in Croatoa, the mobs were looking purple and red to me coming in around lvl 32 range. I was having fun not really paying attention for a couple of hours when I realzed I was not gaining any XP except the mission complete XP in the combat log. Two members of the team had already levelled. I un'sk'd a couple of time and re-sk'd to the same mentor and still received no XP. Once my mentor lvl'd though and hit 31 I started to get XP again and eventually myself lvl'd to 24. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until late in the mission runs and didn't try sk'ing to one of the other members to see if it was just between the original mentor or. Any one else seen this or heard of it?
  9. You'll want to keep stamina even as a sapper build. The endurance that gets returned to you isn't really noticeable so until you get Power Sink you won't regen much endurance. Sapping doesn't really happen until that point anyway as you can't completely drain a mob until you have Short Circuit and Power Sink. Sapping builds are a good build though if you plan your attacks right and don't just rush in. PvE you'll find that even drained the mobs will get that one little tick of endurance back to still hit you so don't just blindly rush in.

In all honesty I wouldn't doubt if the ability to be a widow/fortuna and crab/wolf wasn't something the devs intended when they created the dual build system. For the most part they were probably thinking primarily a PvE and PvP build. The ability to go both branches was just a side effect they didn't really consider or care about. Because of that though we get the issues where now a second costume would be nice or the crab spider backback stuck on any soldier builds. Although I agree it would be nice to have a second costume.
