Quote:Cowards Rock is where the old Hami raids used to begin. It's a spot that is generally safe from Hami attack, but still fairly close to him.
Ah thanks...didn't know since the only hamidon raid I've been on was about 3+ years ago and it had already started by the time I got there/on a team (I think). -

Quote:I'll just throw out a quick thought here......
People can't flip unless there are buyers willing to pay what they're asking. If everyone refused to pay 2 million for that Pangean Soil, no one would be able to list them for that much. If people were smart about it, they'd place bids for 1.5 million, or even 1 million, and let them sit a few days. Unfortunately people are lazy or just impatient, see the last 5 bids, and assume that's what the going rate is (which is never a good idea unless those last 5 bids are spread out over a significant period of time). So, the simple truth is - if so many people actually took the time to place reasonable bids instead of blindly bidding along with the last 5 - the prices would be COMPLETELY different in our little market. And yes that means far far lower. Period....
I always see this type of argument, "if you don't want to pay for x salvage at y price, just put a bid in for z price and wait a few days/a week."
Well I've done that on quite a few items (even waiting up to 1-2 weeks or whenever I log the char. back in) and still don't get the item. Now this excludes recipes or salvage that I try to 'low-ball' to get a purple or what have you at a really cheap price.
Now luckily I've pretty much not needed to buy anything on the market (of if have it was stuff that was cheap) so can't say anything now but there are cases where it does seem where someone/people are 'controlling' the prices somehow. -
I'd be up for trying to help...although I guess I don't quite understand what happened last night.
Why did we run into a group (8 or more?) monsters? If we were trying to get EoEs, why not continue just beating them up like we were? Not trying to be rude/whatever but just curious.
And yes, thanks for trying to get it going Pariah. -
In case they read the forums...sorry to the following people:
High Prophet Malice
Adaptation X
Vicious Vi
LostDeath
Obsidian Caster
Projectile Hurler
I crashed (as you probably noticed) and just needed some sleep. Sorry about that, and it looked we were finally about to beat down Aeon too -

Quote:Oh I have Propel on my Grav/Thermal Controller. I do use it while solo...but on a team, I really don't even bother with it because, like you say, before the animation finishes the mob is dead 90% of the time. Really on a good team (especially on a really good team), the only thing I do is buff with shields, heal if needed and maybe toss out Melt Armor...and maybe my AoE hold; beyond that, nothing much :/ Which is both good and bad.Well, killing would be a LOT faster if you took and used either of the single target damage powers, Propel or Lift. Propel is great single target damage, but slow to animate. That means that it works great solo, but has a tendency to not be very effective on teams -- the foe is often dead before you can hit him with that Stone Gargoyle. If I plan to team most of the time, I would take Lift instead -- kinda weaker than it should be on damage, but it still works and has a secondary control effect of knockup....
As far as Lift goes, I did have it but then decided against it seeing that the ST immob power does more damage (granted over time but still)...so I took more damage than a knockup power which I don't really need.
Now if Dimension Shift was replaced with an AoE Lift power...I'd get that -
Quote:No more server segregation.
An AT system similar to VEATs. I think they hit the nail on the head with an AT that spoils you with more good powers that you can take, that allows players to take the AT into several different directions while still retaining the AT's flavour.
I'd really love to see a MMO with no servers to choose from. You just make a character and you in the same world as the thousands of others. That way, no "merge the servers" topics ever come up and there will always be people to play with. Forgoing that, then have the character selection screen come first so that you could say, for example, choose to play x character and then choose which server you want to play that character on. So, for me, I'd login and say, "I want to play Energizing Ion." and then the next screen shows the servers and then I select "Liberty" or any other server I'd want to play him on.
I'd also like to see some porting from CoH to CoH2 as well.
I'd like to see more powersets and the ability to mix and match more (instead of being 'stuck' in the powerset you chose). -
Quote:I'll agree here as well.Try not to be surprised when in the long run reside population actually declines and its market becomes beyond laughable. And PvP becomes even more homogeneous than it already is.
And yes, I will say "told you so".
I know I may have one or two heroes that may turn to the redside but overall I don't see redside becoming hugely popular.
Don't take me wrong I love redside content (mainly cause all of the missions from a contact are usually in the same zone as the contact plus you get to call the contact after 1 or 2 missions!) but...I can see some (most?) redside toons going blue because that's where the pile of money is to IO the toons out.
Me on the other and, the toon with the most money is on redside -
Yep, it's in open beta (or so it seems)...
Hooray!
As a teammate said once regarding the DP set (I said it in the open beta forums too but):
"An orgy of excess" -
Well thanks
I "finished" badging with EI last Thursday
No more badges that I can get until i17 and/or GR.
I think difoj is at 699 because he got the Power Liberator badge when you could get it back in the day....so he is the #1 badger toon on Liberty (I think).
But I'm good with #2
And milk weasel/Cross Dresser said he should be finished with his last day job badge/accolade(s) by next week and should be at 698 as well. -
I have a Grav/Thermal controller who is now lvl 43 (almost 44)...he's....very slow at solo'ing. I kill mobs with veteran reward powers and/or by DoT (use hold, aoe immob, st immob, hold, st immob, rinse and repeat until mob is dead).
I will say that the Singularity is a great pet. Quite tank-ish (especially with shields on it) and perfect for clogging up a hallway so that you can run away if needed (since mobs will just get repelled when they run into Singy).
If you team a lot then yeah Grav/Thermal can work. I will say that I usually feel totally useless on teams except for my secondary (for the most part). Grav has no real good control since Wormhole takes long to activate and usually if you're on a really good team, it's not necessary (since you steamroll through things)...and the only 'good' AoE control you get recharges every 4-6 minutes (AoE hold).
It's definitely unique...try it out if I haven't dismayed you from trying it by now -
Quote:Speak for yourself. For me, food always tastes a lot better when someone else made it!
Except for eggs over medium. No one ever gets that right! They're either too runny or too solid. I swear, learn to cook, people!
Okay last post but I'll agree with Coyote on this...I always like food better when it's free and made by someone else (usually a friend/family member). -
I'll just post another suggestion...
Along with having an NPC store that sells salvage, it should sell recipes too (even purples *not PvP IOs though*) (or have reward merits be able to buy purples).
That way if people want to save up for purples/other recipes they can do so either with influence (or in this case, merits)...or if they want to 'play the market' they can do that too. -

Whether or not you view it as an exploit is irrelevant. It has existed since issue 8 and has never been changed. That seems to imply that the devs are leaving it in place for a reason (see my aforementioned banking syetem point)
You are right in one way, in that if I (or whoever) thinks that something is an exploit it may not be and the devs may be fine with it. However, that's the devs decision. Just because something has been in the game a long time doesn't mean it's okay to do it. How long did it take to fix other exploits (obviously some were worse than others)? Like the Phased, but can still attack/debuff Hamidon, or other exploits they've fixed (can't think of another one right now...tired).
And if in real life, we could only "earn" 2 billion dollars...I'm sure the government/whoever would be able to stop me from earning more than that if they wanted to.
I do agree with one of the people previously that said, there is nothing to spend the influence on in the game...beyond the market/purples/etc...nothing a 'casual' player does. SOs/enhancements before IOs were the 'money sink'...they expired after 3/5 lvls and therefore you HAD to get new ones (okay you didn't HAVE to but)....bam, money sink. Now with common IOs, once you get lvl 25s or 30s, you really don't need anything after that (unless you want purples/sets/etc). What else would you spend money on?
Inspirations (100 infl. at most for an awaken, rest are 50 a piece).
Costume items/pieces/costumes themselves? Sure they do cost a pretty penny but...only a percentage go all out on their costumes (on all 4-5 slots).
Maybe temp powers, like the flight pack or other Arena temps...I guess but...again only 10k a pop. -
I'd just like to see the addition of an NPC/something that sells salvage (common, uncommon and rares). I mean, why wouldn't an NPC have some Silver laying around, or Alchemical Silver, or what have ya....they have enhancements and inspirations....so why not salvage? Yes make it 'expensive' so-to-speak.
For example if I can sell salvage, let's say, a Silver, to an NPC contact/store, for 1k, I should be able to buy a Silver from an NPC/store for like 3-5k. Maybe make it cost 10x more than what it gives if you sell it, I don't know....
Oh and I would agree with getting rid of the lvl 53 bids/recipes. Maybe cap what you can bid on any item on the market...something. *shrugs* -
If your Scrapper can take out EBs, you might try out the "Horror of War" arc (lvls 45-50). Going rate is about 30 minutes for 18 merits.
There is also an arc by Timothy Raymond (I think it's him) in the 40-45 range called "Division: Line" and there are 13 missions in the arc and 12 can be stealthed (just glowies and/or defeat boss/minions around boss)...there is one mission where it's an actual "rescue" but the map is small/short so taking the captive back to the door is actually not bad at all.
I can do the Division: Line arc in about 1 hour and 10 mins or so...maybe cut it down to an hour...lots of traveling here though (example of the one time I wrote where the missions were: Tram, PI, Brickstown, Dark Astoria, Steel Canyon, Atlas, Crey's Folly, FF, Steel Canyon, Brickstown, Perez, PI and finally FF). So if you really want to speed through it, make sure you have the mission tp power from the booster pack, an SG base with all the teleporter pads, pocket d porter and Ouro portal. Oh and this arc gives you 33 merits. Almost double the merits of the Horror of War arc for a bit more than double the time.
I tried doing some of the other lower content story arcs (the ones that shipped with the original game...nothing like faultline/croatoa/etc) and wow...so much travel (just like the Division: Line arc except worse because sometimes you don't have a travel power!)....just not worth it to me. -
I wouldn't mind something like that; however, it may not be the best option for unlocking HEATs atm (or VEATs).
Maybe when the Coralax EAT or another EAT comes out, that's how they'll do it but...for now...I guess it's just based off of lvl. -
Just as a side thought Mornediel, if there are tons of people that agree with you, why don't you have them voice their opinions on the forums like you are? They have a right to say they don't like it either.
I would suggest, however, that they try to be civil about the whole thing. -
Just a quick note...
The devs mentioned a long time ago that having the epics unlock at lvl 50 was a 'mistake' (not sure of the exact words but paraphrasing). They carried it over to the villain side/for the VEATs just to make things the same. So lowering it was just their way of 'fixing' it.
I don't see how it's a 'blow' to the vets and as for
Quote:Uh...the first sentence kind of makes me giggle a little bit. Now maybe the VERY first time I saw a Peacebringer/Warshade I was like, "oooh, nice!" but after that? It's 'easy' to get a 50 (for the most part). It just takes time...there's nothing 'hard'...just takes time.Simply walking across the street on your Warshade or Peacebringer demanded authority. Anyone who saw you knew what it took for you to get where you are.
I'm glad they are lowering the lvl req....to 20? well whatever I'm fine with it.
If you want to talk about a 'slap in the face' type of action....there are quite a few that I'm sure others could elaborate more eloquently than I; however, how about when Positron said that there would be NO other way to earn the Isolator badge except to earn it through killing a random Contaminated that spawned once an hour in Recluse's Victory....and then months/a year later, when Ouroboros comes out, you can flashback and now earn the badge with ease. It took my badger a long time to get that badge. Am I upset? No not now...now it's easier for those who missed it. Did I want a 'newer' badge to say I got the badge at/through RV? At first yes, I won't lieBut now? meh...
-
Hooray, my only real badger (EI Kin/Rad Def.) now has 698 badges! All day jobs done and he is now 'done'....only missing the three badges no one can get (realistically at least); Passport, Power Liberator and Bug Hunter.

Quote:The "EATs at 20" thing seems to be getting the most attention - but what about the other listed features?
Any ideas on what they might be, like what UI changes could they make that'd make it better?
And what sort of additions to the MA might they be going to give us?
Also, beautiful new shiney badges
Well the only UI improvement that was brought up at HeroCon (supposedly I wasn't there), was the whole "mobs/glowies/etc will show up on the map after 90% of mobs are defeated" thing.
Beyond that, I'm looking forward to more improvements! -
Hooray!
And I'm done with my tax return....now...just need to figure out what to do/where to get a job to finalize getting a new PC
