The question is though.... Is TA a hair-metal glam rocker of today (Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Rapsody) or.... is he a Classic Rock wanna-be....???

Cause sometimes I definately thing he should be on a stage with fireworks...



but then other times, I see him with shaggy hair, mutton chops and round glasses playing an old fender faux-acoustic with Sass in bangs in the background bobbing her head in time with the tamborine ;P

Well... for the revenge guy (or it could be a sister, who wants revenge for the sister and neice that were murdered)... Try going with a more modern, "dressed down" look.... as he/she's a villain already, so looking all spandexy isnt really in the cards.


for the dark dark... a demon summoned by the CoT is a pretty played storyline.... and doesnt leave you with ANY costume options (basically the supernatural and animal body parts.. maybe some strappy leather)
if you could put beast heads under hoods, then I'd say go for it (cause that would look awsome) but otherwise...


Think about what dark "Does".... causes fear, steals life/end, uses negative energy to hurt people...
hides in a veil of shadows....

black is an obvious choice..... but in my experence, what actually looks best under dark armor...

are all the colors in the third column from the right... the "Whitest" colors...
the blue/purple/black of dark armor shifts and ebbs across white-toned colors magnificantly (particularly the last blue)...

mixing one of those white-tones with just the slightest accents of one of the black-tones (furthest column to the left) will give your outfit an almost radiant, nebulous look... as it will highlight the smoky qualities of your armors, and the black-tones will break up your profile, making you seem... disjointed (more chaos=more evil)


think of it.. sort of like a bright full moon on a dark night, with high, dark clouds encasing it.

what colors do you like also.... and... male or female?

Is a month too long to run this contest? I was thinking the month of june would be a good time (itsa mah birthday on da 7th )

but I know absolutely nothing about art... and how long it takes to get something quality produced...

Im glad to hear that any sort of prize would be enjoyed, but I still want it to be...well... useful :-/

it isnt so much about "fair compensation".... so much as "Would you still feel like you got a "prize" (consolation, runner up, second, and first) if you got *X*....

Ok... I think Im going to have to limit entrants, though...

I feel..kinda bad not having "consolation" stuff less than 15 or 20 bucks.....
but if I have too many consolations, it'll put me in the poor house ;P




how many dedicated "semi-amature" artists are there around our little corner of the community? (thats the old use of the word....i.e. community members that do hero/villain art mostly because they love it.... not because it pays the bills :-/. because as much as Id love to have a bunch of professional artist get involved... I feel like the "prize" would be a little less than their time is worth :-/ so the first place is more of a perk to someone who doesnt fire off commish regularly.)



I dont know.... would 10 bucks seem like a waste of time amount for a consolation? that would let in significantly more participants (heck, I could pay off 20 entrants, with a little forethought... not including the 3 "Ranked" winners...)

well, I really want there to be some solid prizes.... and if this works, I'd love to sponsor further contests of a similar style... I have plenty of dear characters that could use some community lovin...


....and I'd love to hunt down those frequenters here who dont have much up for their characters, and get them into the limelight, at some point (though that would be for the bigger future.)
I mean.. the Bucky's and Scarf's and even Spino's get a lot of face time.... but theres many more in the community who dont have the means or the clout (whasnames like myself) who dont.

This was just an idea I had... but before I went forward with it, I wanted to know if there would be any interest (and also wanted opinions on whether posting about it here would be bad form)


the basic idea was to have an art contest to draw one of my characters based on information provided (theres a site in my sig thats easily updated)...


and then offering up cash prizes to winners/runners up/etc...


basically, I was thinking of having top prize be around a middle ranged commission (300 ish) with a prize for second, third, and consolation...


so basically, everyone who participates (within reason, Im not THAT rich :-P) would get something monitary, with the winners basically getting comission price'd prizes.
I'd offer up other non-cash stuff.. but, well... I dont have anything.



but in general.... does the contest sound like something "fun".... or should I just go buy comissions and leave it at that?

there are plenty of small animals that are in limited supply...

also, its the time of Gemini, so twins (and bipolar people) are all hippy and groovie for a whole month...
