Best bet would be to do this seperately. a Fire/fire tank (Unless godly IO'd out) would need a seperate tank or a lot of rad to tank recluse (and the final 4 to be exact).

Throw that in with a BS/regen (3 melee on a stf...ugh) and it makes for a not so good outcome.

Best bet would be to get the badge for one of you, then run it again.

Only if you throw out all those beatings we received From Velocity/JAL/VR/PX/AnyotherSG. Those don't count and you're a liar if you say they do.

  4. Holy [censored] I agree with TonyV

    Good post
  5. Twixt was/is bad at CoH PvP. Yes his tactics were legal, but he lacks the skill to use anything else. The fact that he prided himself on his kills is the main reason I think people disliked him so.

I found mildly amusing, I figured he was a 7 or 8 year old kid (My Guildmates youngest son has more skill than twixt). I find it very funny that this guy was an older man...it makes the story all the more sad

That was too much fun! Didn't think we would actually break 25 minutes, and with no timer set at the start, had no clue where we were.

After the 20 Min Khan TF we need to go back and shave 5 minutes off that STF time with a prepped run, rather than just a random balanced team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

only 5 minutes?! With a prepped team, it should be atleast 10.

I'm sorry but the PVP community of this game is not that large and the PVP aspect of this game is not that large and Nukes and Shivans are terribly useful in PVE. There is no good reason that these shouldn't be made available as a reward for other things like a difficult task force or trial.

If people are really going to argue that these rewards make or break PVP, then PVPers aren't all that dedicated to PVP. And if PVPers are that dedicated to PVP, then people getting these rewards in PVE shouldn't matter to them since it affects them not one bit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Accolades are imporant to PvP - yet I have to PvE to get them. I have to grind badges to get the ones that really help. If there was a PvPable way to get these accolades, I would welcome the idea of a PvE way to get nukes and shivans.

The reason nukes and shivans are in PvP zones is because, if people want them, they will go to these zones to try. They might encounter another player and they maybe, just maybe, might enjoy themselves.

If there was a way to get hero/villain accolades that involved PvP, I would be happy. I hate badging, its the biggest waste of time this game has to offer. But, I do it because I need those badges to get some of the really neat accolades.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Personally I love the badges and think that PvP was the worst thing they have ever added to the game. I'm just glad that I don't have to do something I hate to get what I want.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is why MMO's are so fun, because they can attract a very diverse group of people. The quoted poster and I would probably never play the same games I play if MMO's never existed.

I am glad that I don't PvP competatively anymore, because accolades don't mean much now-a-days. I never have to sit through another boring Illusionist farm or Farm Pretorian masks ever again!
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I hear you, Tripp. I haven't entered a PvP zone since Issue 6 went live. I'm not about to now. It just sucks that because I don't PvP, I'm also being kept from doing PvE content, like getting villain accolades and Lord Recluse Strike Forces.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Being kept from getting PvE content because you don't PvP is your choice.

People need to either embrace areas of the game they don't like inorder to get the things the want, or understand they may never have them.

My previous example was a little extreme. This is a PvE game after all with PvP in it, therefore being asked to PvE inorder to PvP isn't that big of a deal.

If there was a way to get hero/villain accolades that involved PvP, I would be happy. I hate badging, its the biggest waste of time this game has to offer. But, I do it because I need those badges to get some of the really neat accolades.

People shouldn't be able to bypass areas of the game just because you want the shiny that is offered by doing that portion of the game.
  10. Id do that, but I think we would be punishing the wrong people. Not everyone on freedom is bad. Since they have more people, the amount of [censored] is greater. I don't think their "Average [censored]" Rate is any higher than that of other servers.
  11. *The below text is the standard answer I would give before i13*

    Nope.

I wish they would invent a way for me to go 1 to 50 so I can skip the repetative content of PvE.

You hate PvP. Period. Then live with the fact that there are certain things that you won't have. I hate PvE, but I have to do it to play this game the way I want to play it (Which is PvP)

have an answer for the problem of pissed customers that can't or won't pay for special access. He ignores that point completely

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wouldn't want to leave you out, although I've addressed this already: you don't refuse to fly, or go to ball games, or concerts just because some people have better access to those events. The argument that a significant number of people will quit because others have better access is specious.

The argument to "play on another server" is just as weak: If you live in Boston and are an avid fan, and you could go watch a world series game between, say the Yankees and the Red Sox, but access was limited and you would have to pay more, would you go watch the Royals play the Indians in Kansas City instead? After all, its all baseball, right? Same game, there's really no difference, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're comparing apples to oranges. Baseball games and Flights are not a Monthly fee service.

When I fly, I fly first class. Not because I paid for the ticket, but because I have the miles to do so. If you choose to pay for the first class ticket, good for you - but it doesn't entitle you to any extra benefits.

We both pay for City of heroes service. Double xp weekend is like first class service for everyone. Wether you pay more than me is irrelevent, we both pay for service.

You can't compare servers to locations on an airplane. Freedom is not first class and Triumph is not coach. Its all the same bud. Sometimes, on airplanes you get bumped because they over booked. Just because you bought your first class ticket doesn;t mean you can't get bumped.

You have a choice: You can choose to fly (Play on another server, or hope to get logged into the one you want) Or, you can choose to stay at home. Throwing money around won't change anything.

Again, its not a 'pure business' decision. Its discrimination and no reputable service provider would ever consider what you are offering.
  13. Has anyone considered with the whole rightous character deletions from MA farming that this double xp weekend my yield more?

If someone gets powerleveled from 1 to 50 in a day - will their character get deleted? Getting 1-50 in 14 hours is very doable in past double xp weekends
  14. The OP is an idiot.

He keeps talking about airline seats. First class seating is not really there to be bought (Although it can be, for outragously inflated pricing). The true purpose of first class seating is to reward people who are loyal to the airline and fly alot. about 95% of the people in first class are upgraded - h aving paid no extra for their premium seat. The other 5% are people with to much money that they are willing to pay anything.

If the flight cancels, first class and coach alike are in the same boat - the both have a ticket and will get the same service. Anything other than that and its discrimination and the airline can be sued.

And this thread just proves how many of you hate Freedom server. Many of you admit it openly. If you were in favor of what is good for the game and its owners, you would want them to make as much money as possible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I dislike that it's crowded.

I dislike the attitude shown there - which is also, honestly, shown by you with the "Screw everyone else, me me me, don't give me other suggestions just serve me!" shown here.

I have rarely had a "good" team, either in play, competence, or enjoyability there, unless I knew the people from elsewhere. My characters there are among my least played.

I am, actually, in favor of what's good for the game and its owners, and want them to make as much money as possible - preferrably with as much long term benefit as possible. Wasting money on more server hardware for *one* shard for one or two weekends a month is not on that list. Neither is implementing plans that would do nothing but irritate even more people by kicking them off for a few others.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I don't dislike the freedom crowd, I dislike their own personal sense of entitlement.

I also agree with Bill on I would like NCsoft as a business to grow, but adding a preimum ticket would not do that. I think you would piss enough people off who would cancel due to the discrimination involved with such a setup.
  16. First, let my start by saying "lol" To the OP.

In response to the OP, no reprutable business would ever discontinue service to a client just because someone else comes in with more money.

The great thing about a MMO its spirit is pure equality. Sure, some AT's might need fixed, or certain areas are underperforming, but the player behind the keyboard is just as equal as any other.

Its great that you have money to throw around, but if NCsoft decides to insert Preimum service to its MMO's without spelling it out well before the game has launched, then its opening itself up to big drama.

Let me put it this way: I know of very few people who play this game who couldn't afford a 'preimum service' ticket; depending on the cost. If everyone has this ticket, then who do you kick off the servers?

  18. /no for the new pool power

But you do bring up some interesting points. Stamina has the stigma of being 'required.' Can you play without it? Sure! But your play style must fit that.

I know this isn't possible, nor would this ever get into the game, but I would like to see a clickable abilities added to these auto powers.

For example: If you click swift, you get a 5 second 100% recharge (Like the proc from the knockback set). Give it a moderate recharge - maybe 1 minute? Also, allow it to not be enhanced by recharge powers or recharge enhancers (Similar to the tier 9 of Willpower)

Hurdle: Thematically, I can't think of anything creative to put here. Perhaps a 10 second jumpjet with a long recharge. This could allow for more SuperSpeed only builds without the stress of hopping over larger hills

Heath: I would just make clicking health be like clicking a green Insp - Give it a recharge of 2 minutes

Stamina: Same as health, but a blue insp would be used instead. Give it the same recharge time, but make it a tier 2 blue because its the higher level power.

Anyways, would I ever want development time spent on this? Not really, I just thought it would be a fun idea.

Since changing you colors will be -20% damage how many of the non-carebears will actually do this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That 20% is a maximum value. Remember, it scales depending on how far you deviate from the correct color.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You are misleading them with this statement, you forgot to tell them the correct color is NOT the base one all start with and they have to guess what the correct color is. Imagine my surprise while playing mega-closed-beta and find that the "correct color" for dark melee was bright pink.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually the correct color was dark red, but diminishing returns reduced it to pink.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those diminishing returns are rather severe. Do you think if I counter with a Deep Crimson colored Forcefield that it would offset the DR? Or will support colors continue to dimish?

(On a semi-serious note - has anyone thought about what happens when someone gets to cast black iceshields or bubbles?)
