  1. *wanders in and begins pushing the tickle button on the machine*

Dammit, why isn't this thing making coffee? And when did I start drinking coffee?
  2. Due to this thread, I believe all my new characters will be catgirls.

:\ That doesn't sound good at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It isn't good at all. It's what I got fed in school in the few years I actually went to school.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Okay, we had a good run this week, even tho we were a bit caught up in the contact misery. Also, because of the interest shown from various Rookerizens™, I think maybe we need an Alpha team and a reserve team. We should list our roster and figure out who's on which squad.

    ALPHA
    Tabby Steele
    Channon Yarrow
    Iron Kitteh
    Nurse Delight
    Dr Arcanus
    (Wendy's toon I forget her name )
    (Emgro's toon I forgot his name )
    (open slot/rotating)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Genshiro. Genshiro Genshiro Genshiro. How could you forget.

*goes off in a corner and pouts before coming back three seconds later*

    Also, Wendy's character is Mal'Grsomethingorother.

*resumes pouting and mumbling about not debuffing for you people any more*
  5. Pogo, are you familiar with the abomination known as Turkey Ham? It's basically reconstituted turkey meat with ham flavor added.

    Truly disgusting.

Am I missing something, or is there no bonus power being added with this besides the "I can turn into a girl" ability?

    Blue Steel!

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm so annoyed that this pile of lame jokes got put in the official cannon. Am I the only one who would like to see Blue Steel be used as an actual character and not just as a punchline?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Canon only has one "N" in that context. I don't think there is an official cannon, but if there is, it had better be brass, because brass cannons are prettier. Also, it would be a subtle homage to Heinlein's "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress."

Pedantry aside, the two contexts for Blue Steel are not mutually exclusive. In the end, he is just a lowbie hero zone train with plot arcs that only involve lowbie villain groups. How much attention do Swan or Foresight (or is it Foreshadow?) get? Not every hero gets the Statesman treatment.
  8. You don't fight a war because you can win.

You fight a war because it is right and just.

And this war is just, and it is right. And we will fight it until our glorious battle is scorched so deep into the zeitgeist that even defeat will not dull the memories of future generations.

Wait, what were we talking about?
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    How awesome!

    One question though...

Where is the blankie option in the costume creator?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The blankie is there because she's still on Test. When she goes live, she'll have a proper costume, I'm sure.

Congratulations, and best of luck leveling her up. I'd avoid the PL farms, they don't lead to balanced growth.

    Blue Steel!

    I'll give it a try.

The shield is not there to protect Blue Steel from your attacks.
It is there to protect you from Blue Steel.

The threat levels of the enemies in the Hollows dropped because Blue Steel thought about going there.

When Blue Steel does the RWZ Challenge, he does all the pylons at once. From his pedestal in King's Row.

When Lord Recluse suggested Blue Steel visit the Abyss, Blue Steel said he was too old to visit a petting zoo.

If people would only stop killing them while they gather, the Hamidons would try and run Blue Steel raids.

In an alternate universe, Rularuus worship Blue Steel.

The reason Arachnos doesn't want Calystix to awaken Leviathan is because it would make Blue Steel come to the Etoile Isles in search of a decent enemy.

Blue Steel held up the globe of the Atlas Statue with one hand and slid the statue part underneath with the other.

All sorts of people are having babies...making me want another.

There goes ten dollars from my salt-and-soda budget.

Not complaining, just resigned to my fate.

It's too cool not to buy.

    Good Villain PvE

DM/Shield Brute is fun and pretty reliable.
  14. The ability to voluntary remove buffs has been a desired Quality of Life change as long as I can remember. Starting with those who find Speed Boost difficult to control due to lag or similar, it's something we probably should have gotten a while ago.

I can only foresee tinted buffs as raising the issue to a new level.
  15. The age group seems to affect only a single question, the calendar-meme question. Oddly, after doing it a number of times, since I can complete it in less than seven minutes, my scores as a male/female/other or <18, 18-24, or 24+ all seem fairly similar.

Although I can now beat the mathstroids game before running out of time. It's fun.
  16. The scale is relatively basic. The weights at the ends of the arms are worth double those closer to the fulcrum, since they are twice the distance from it. So if its something like 2:1:Fulcrum:X:0, you need to put 5 in at the X.
  17. Hello all.

It's a bad week to be on a boat near Bangladesh.
  18. Actually, the last thing I got from Flux was Frostfire, though that may not be true of everyone. So at least one of us has the mission.

NO ONE ON THE TEAM DIED TONIGHT!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's because I'm playing a wimpy Ill/Rad Troller who gets less attention from enemies than Mark Twain gets from American literature classes.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Or has it become a pretty much a dead artform?

    Im just curious.

I mean, consistent, plotted RP with activities and such, and not just Pocket D lounging, or forum Rookery silliness.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Never really got into "plotted" RP. Usually disintegrates into playing out the imagined plotline of someone who couldn't write their way out of a paper bag. All the RP I want from CoX is the random PuG RP and Pocket D lounging for the most part, and I get all I need.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Why did it get so quiet all of a sudden? *peeks behind screen* Fey! How did you manage to do that without making her scream?!?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can fix anything with duct tape. Anything at all. Though I prefer masking tape for this sort of work, peels off without damaging the finish. You're going to want the finish in good shape later, so it's worth being careful.

    *mumbles off about innuendo*

Solve the equation in the asteriods and hitting that number key broke the asteroid into smaller ones As for the tile thing, its a visual icon test, it presents you with subtly different versions of a popular icon, like Facebook or RSS feed and you have to pick the correct one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

...Now I feel dumb (though it looked like a Facebook tile, which would explain why I got it wrong).

Though, most of the stuff I miss is because I tend to either overcomplicate it or I'm just not familiar with the information enough to make a proper judgement. So it's al good.

...the asteroid one, though, is gonna make me a saaad foxy. It's so obvious now. D:

    [/ QUOTE ]
Asteroid one was awesome, except for it not always wanting to register what you put in. While I'm usually willing to admit the potential for error, single-digit subtraction problems fall within the realm of my mathematical talents.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, sure dark one. Tanks aren't already the pet archetype! Make them more powerful.

Tankers get the Gauntlet inherent because many players deny the fact that Tanks were meant to Taunt. Taunt is a very important power in the pool for archetypal reasons. Since many Tanks decided that they did not need this key power, the DEVs were forced to make Tanks do their job as part of a team.
One of them was the punch-provoke. The other is Gauntlet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Couple of things wrong with this post.

Punchvoke = Gauntlet. Saying those are two things is like saying brawl is the best power twice over because you can punch with either hand.

If big T Taunt-as-a-power was so damned important from the dev's perspective, why don't Tankers just get it free as an inherent? Other games have tank-types reliant on a highly arbitrary taunt mechanic, but this one doesn't.

We don't deny the need for a way to hold aggro, we just prefer to open our minds to ways of holding aggro that don't involve spamming a bizarrely random power that explains how both the humblest Hellion and a Giant McHuge Deathbot Mk 4 can be influenced by the same silly gesture and grunt.

Nobody expects tankers to out-DPS scrappers. They would just like to kill bosses in less than three minutes.
  24. Round 1 as 18-22: 118

    Round 2 as 24+: 135

I shared my anecdotal story about half-naked horsemanship among the Amish, not much else I can add.

Although after having a horse fall on me, I pretty much gave up on the creatures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh my. What happened?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Horse, woods, me. Horse jumped over something it didn't need to (it was less than a foot high, and the horse was going slowly), and it sort of stumbled and fell. Sideways.

I fell off at the same time, also sideways. It landed on me, sat there a bit, got up, and wandered off.

And given some time, so did I. Didn't break anything, but cut myself up something awful. Horse was fine, apparently I make good padding.
