But as far as I can figure, Praetoria ended up in Whales.

Paragon City is in Rhode Island. We have jurisdiction here.

Ermmm.... half a day, my bad. 25 cents rather..... I guess that ain't as bad as my previous estimate.
-
I saw someone complain about having to pay for this. I agree. I want my 50 cents back!!!
-
Hey hey hey!!! You guys are supposed to be arguing, what's wrong with you. That's what threads like this are for.
-
err.. looking at the wrong arc. Yeah, division line looks like no defeat alls. Gaussian might be neck and neck. Do ouro arcs give you half merits just like task forces if you do them repeatedly? If so, it looks like a Gaussian followed by a division line might be your best bet.
-
45-50 Gaussian arc gives you 2 merits per mission, with no defeat alls, and 1 EB (no av's). Seems like it might be faster then the division line since that has 3 defeat alls.
-
Yeah, I sure do. One thing I was thinking in particular is nabbing hidden people, such as the whole mad drama of recent past.
-
Thank you baron, you reminded me of another point, in an indirect way. If you want to soak up XP, why are you opening your trap and looking a gift horse in the mouth? Whichever 50 has the star, please kick that stupid noob for complaining that you're not farming him fast enough and that you should quit confusing the mobs.
Confuse. All day. Often. And without remorse.
Thread complete. -
I have a mind emp (yes I'm probably necroing more threads. Whatever)
I find the mind powerset good for controllers who don't want to draw alot of aggro, like buffers. A good buffer should have (I think anyway, i'm not experienced that experienced with buffers) pretty high recharge to get those buffs going out to the team. The more recharge you get, the less defense you'll probably have, and yeah, I know that's subjective. My emp bases none of it's secondaries on hitting mobs, like a kin does. So no aggro there. Mass confuse, no aggro, mass hyp, no aggro. Mind/emp, very little aggro. It's kind of fun for a change, especially if you know me. I'm always in there, even if I shouldn't be. Kinda interesting for me to play a different way, even if I'm squirming in my seat while doing so because I wanna go run up and kick something (yes, I have kick four slotted for s/l defense and concept, because my mind/emp is a horse) NEIGH!!!! Ummm... I digress. Long recharge on mass confuse? Balance it out with what happens when you DO mass confuse something. Soft control, they're not hitting your team. They are all hitting each other. Hard, fast and repeated......err, I just reread that but I'll choose to leave it. Anyway, fun stuff, and very effective. It melts the mobs you're using it on with a quickness. Worth the long recharge I think
In my opinion, mind control for a troller complements secondaries. If you want a toon that rocks straight out of the box and all the way to 50 on the weight of its controls, and makes amazing use of aoe controlling goodness (that happens to only check against psi defense), I recommend rolling a mind dominator. AMAZING!! You'll love it, and it will be far more apparent where mind control really shines on its own. If it says anything, I have two level 50 mind doms. A mind/nrg slotted for recharge for more aoe holds that's good for mobs, and a mind/psi I plan to damage incarnate for amazing solo craziness. And yes, both rock solo. -
A: Yes, I am necro-posting
B: Yes, I started this thread
C: Yes, that gives me the right to necro my thread
D: Umm.... yeah the servers are down for like six hours, so yes, I'm trolling
Since posting this, I've learned alot about confuse, and my mind dom has become one of my number 1 50s (Yes, that makes sense, so whatever.)
I didn't read the names of posters, because I didn't want to read a name I liked and choose to go easy on them.
For those of you who think getting less total XP on one task is a bad thing (not to be confused with my referring to those of you who say that you do get less XP per task and are neutral on that matter):
That's dumb. If you have 3 hours to play this evening, and if you can cut the time it takes to get a task done in 3/4 while getting 7/8xp due to the mass confusing fortunada and mind dom you brought(just a figure for argument's sake) and you had planned to run 3 plow task forces at an hour apiece... well that means 3/4 of 3 hours is now 2 hours and 15 minutes..... at 45 minutes per task force. So guess what? You now have time to run one more task force at that same rate. So now you've done 4 task forces. at 7/8 XP apiece. 7/8=28/32. If you figure 32 represents the xp you'd have gotten if you'd gotten 100% of your xp from those TFs. You now get 28. 8/8 for 3 task forces would have been 24/24, instead of 28/32. Total, that's 28 units of XP compared to 24...... for the same amount of time..... yes, I'll say it again. For the same amount of time. Now, for arguments sake, let's say that task force gives you 35 merits. 35 merits will get you about 45-60 mil on the market selling recipes, give or take depending on your method and supply and demand. Now for another argument (and I'll point out here that without these extras, you still come out ahead as I already said) lets say on task force number 4, BAM!!! You get those purple letters scrolling across saying Recipe Found!!! Guess what, that was an armageddon 3stat, and you have now either saved 300mil because you can slot it for free, or you're dumb and decided to sell that gem. So on that fourth task force, you just
A: Got more fun from another TF.
B: Got more XP total.
C: Still met your 3 hour deadline of playing time (but lets face it, you're probably going to stay up till 2am with the bacon that fell of your pizza 2 hours ago buried in the crotch of your... oh wait, this is triumph, no pants)
D: Made at least 60mil off those merits if you're smart
E: Potentially made 360mil with your purple recipe drop+merits
F: Got schooled on basic mental math by a high school dropout who's smarter than you even with your college degree
Gratz on accomplishing letter F by the way
P.S. SOmeone please check my math, I did it in my head and could have made a mistake. Please retort if I did.
20 minutes of high speed internet: .30 cents
Wear and tear on my processor: .068 cents
The cost of my schooling: 0 cents
The satisfaction of successfully necroing a threat I'd forgotten about for a few months: Priceless -
Hmm... well, thanks for the answers anyway. It takes time to remember all these commands, and it's a pain to look up the answers every time you space out on one of them. So I could at least bind/macro it and use it for reference, or a beginchat command like you said. Either way, your answers were helpful thanks.
And yeah, it's one of those cases of poor resources available, they all have different and wildly crazy ways of denoting quotes and such. I've seen all the ways I showed, and even intermixed. Stupid, but whatever, it's been answered here. -
A: Can't confuse the nictus. Even 8 mind doms with recharge as high as mine couldn't do it. 500 mez resist. That's resist, which is on top of the standard AV protection. Impossible.
B: Healer targets the enemies and transfers heals to itself and its allies. So it doesn't sit there and spam heals like a Longbow Warden Emp. All you have to do there is stay out of its range and you're fine. Basically, it's a dark defender. If you've ever played one of those, you know what I mean. Or.... kinda like a kin, but not really.
C: If we'd wanted to, I could have confused romulus, and he'd have killed the nictus for us. But Pine was confident in his tanking, so we just pulled it up to the spot you see in my 2nd pic. I perma-confused romulus so we wouldn't have his DPS endangering Pine, he kilt 1 nictus, 2, 3, then Rommie himself melted like butter.
D: Sleet never hurts on a dominator. And ice armor makes smashing lethal cap a breeze, and you don't have to sacrifice recharge if you know how to build it. -
All good thoughts. I've got a few corruptors, and I can say aiming for s/l cap is great, and would work on this one for sure. I'm just bored of playing the same way and want to try something new, even if it's not min/maxing. I'll probably slot the powers I put purples in on my mids build with and sets I can find with recharge, or possibly just regular IOs for testing purposes. I adjusted my build a bit with some of your comments in mind, but I think I want to at least take it on a few missions with all 3 stuns in it, just for kicks and to test it. And yeah, it's a bit of overkill, but I think it could be really handy for really aggro capped teams. Baracuda ambushes, ITF (although with i19 ITF is a joke sadly), things like that. From the adjusted build I'm looking at, I'd be able to immediately hit dark pit and thunder clap and have pretty much everything locked down with 4 mags of stun. From there, once I'm in the middle of it, OG will add another 2 mags to random enemies when it hits them. On this build, thunder clap has a recharge of 11 seconds. So if ambushes come in, this will be recharged before the initial round of stuns lets them recover. Hit the over aggro mobs with it, and you've got a mob hit with a mag 4, extras hit with another 2, and then whatever OG picks up as far as stragglers. I can even take the hit and charge in straight after the tank. I've heard jokes from blasters about rise of the phoenix being an important part of their attack chain. In this case it would be something like, Clap-Pit-dead-SoulTrans-(OG throughout)-Summon, summon, DarkConsume-Repeat repeat repeat attacking whenever you can manage it, and throwing down freezing rain as often as I feel they're safely locked down so I can do so. That would be handy on baracudas I think, and just whenever I felt like playing around with a self rez attack chain for laughs. Other times, I'd be using my hurricane to herd mobs, like in offices. When I'm on one of those teams that has no real need at all for strong controls because they're so solid, I fall back on my debuffs, herd control, Occasional 02 boost if a squishy needs it, or to buff some mez resists, and attacks (which aren't so great, but I'm a corr, so there's always scurge FTW)
Are there better ways? Yes, I'm sure there are. Are there safer builds with more defense? Oh god yeah. But would this be a fun toon to play around with when I'm bored of my other 14x 50s? Sure. Thanks everyone for all your suggestions, I've tweaked my build a bit based on your thoughts. Appreciate the input, and I'll be testing this in a few more levels when he snags that 50 DING!!! -
Gotta post the results of course
Highlights: Taryn got taken with the first bid from sayaki at 600mil.
Same with me at 550 from SmexyNana
Tam was trying to bid on the other bag of PVP's. Lol, tryin to trade, you sneaker. -
Wouldn't be the first time I sold myself.
-
Just a friendly suggestion for whoever wants to bid on me (and a sleazy attempt to make myself more valuable) I've got a dominator that can make easy work of Master Lord Recluse, for anyone who needs that badge. I've already got the badge, and practice using it for that purpose, so I'll pull your badgers through that.
But whateva, I'm yours for the day. Most likely during the week/weekend next week. I've got a 24 hour duty tomorrow, bed early tonight.
-
Cool. THanks for the suggestions. All I need now is to test it, and respecs will do the rest.
-
And no, that was just me logging my alt in to get some extra merits. If you doubt it:
-
Pine Proved that you don't need a tank for anything. And as for myself, squishy doesn't mean you have to just lay on the floor half the time.
-
Good ideas. THanks. Storm's one of those that looks kinda weird if you haven't played one. I'll figure it out for myself from here, but it'd be nice to have a decent idea for my first build, so I don't need more then my vet/trial respecs to fix whatever I think isn't working.
