  1. Bah. I had just started (the increasingly rare happening of) playing with my daughter and the 5 minute warning went off.

Dear lord, I have 3 codes......

Is there any luck with getting refunds due to this being a massive, known problem?

    [/ QUOTE ]
My three $9.99 refunds posted this morning to my account.

Is there anyone in particular we are supposed to contact if we are double charged?

I was charged twice but didnt get any code at all. Who should i speak to about that?

You can call support between 12pm - 5pm CST or use the online form. I called and Zach was most helpful. I barely had any wait time, too.
  4. Wow. I was finally able to purchase the magic booster. But I got charged twice. Again. However, Zach at support noticed this as he was handling the issue I had earlier in the day and automagically refunded the second purchase. NC Billing support (or at the very least, Zach) is awesome!
  5. I'll add my voice to the camp that's against the change. Not that it'll make any difference. It seems as though I'm disappointed with a lot of the changes lately.

  7. So tickets = Currency #4?! Joy.

OK, I don't have a hijackthis to post at this time, but is it at all meaningful that everytime I dc, the character who dc'ed comes up as offline for 49,710 days when I re-log?

The time on your machine is behind the time on the server. Therefore, the client thinks you last played that character in the future.
  9. I'd downloaded both hotfixes, and had been running fine until the beginning of the month. I downloaded the 182.xx NVidia drivers and started getting the white screen of doooooom a few days later. I rolled back to the 169.xx drivers and still had problems. I also started seeing artifacting in browser windows.

I tried swapping video cards (I was using an 8800GT and put in my old 8800GTS). but my mobo kept beeping at me to tell me that I had no video card installed. So I swapped motherboards.

Artifacting persisted, even during POST using the 8800GT, so I installed the 8800GTS. I'm back in business and running the latest drivers with no crashes.

So, if the hotfixes and SP2 don't resolve your issue, check your hardware.

Solution? Bring back the random rolls for all TFs/SFs and trials. Have merits be an OPTIONAL reward instead of the random.
That will make merits much more attractive for longer TFs, but the faster ones will now generate random rolls and help to supply the market.
Let story arcs continue to earn merits (although, please, give all teammates merits on arc completion).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would restore the flow of random recipes to the market while still allowing people to save for the stuff they want (if they choose) and not have to run TFs to do so.

Of course, this only works if you assume that the goal of the merit change is to have lots of recipes on the market.....

    [/ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]I think yall are missing the point. The devs have said some tf/sf/trials are not worth a full recipe because they dont take much time to complete. Putting the reward choice on all the other tfs that do give enough for a full recipe is some what pointless. There is no difference in doing that versus people going to the merit vendor. If people are that lazy to go to the merit vendor then there is no hope for them. People just need to get with the program, stuff like Katie, Cap, Hess, Eden and Treespecs will never give enough for a full recipe again so why keep asking for that?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Why? Because maybe if enough of the playerbase is dissatisfied with how things are implemented, they will change.

With the complete loss of Random Pool C's and D's, there will be almost NONE on the market on either side.. Few people, if any, will 'waste' their precious merits buying something just to sell it.

I see almost no upside to the new Merit system, and lots and lots of Downside.

If they at least kept the 'random' pool C, they would continue to hit the market now and then, and since Pool C drops are and will continue to be a MASSIVE Crapshoot (will that be censored,? It shouldn't be..) that no one will waste their Merits on, it will at least keep some of those recipes available.

I don't like this one bit. I won't get Merits for running other people's story arcs, there are no Random Merits, and any of the TF's that I CAN do in my limited playtime are relegeted to the minimum reward available.

This 'forces' me to actually do what I haven't in the past - run the same stupid TF over and over for the 'best' reward I can find, and 'forces' me to just do it with one character.

I don't like it, in any scenario I can imagine. I usually try to look for the 'best' in any situation. I'm having trouble seeing one here.

Thats the point mate, they are presenting you with a choice of playing your way and getting no merits or playing the way they want you to, and getting merits. Ain't it great?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it sure is. Who's got the KY Jelly?
  14. [ QUOTE ]
The main thrust of my point was that even if this hypothetical player never does TFs, he'll still get merits through the normal course of play.

    [/ QUOTE ]
How? My understanding is that you get merits for completing arcs THAT YOU OWN. Whenever I'm on, I almost always play with my buddies. They play more often than I do, and eventually it gets to a point (pretty early on) where they're a higher level than me. So I take a mentor/boss and we go and have fun. So I am almost always running someone else's story arcs. Often, we run radios. Either way, I don't get merits. In nearly four years, I've run ONE STF and ten or less KHTFs. How am I going to get Merits?
  15. I've been playing for over four years, and I've used precisely two respecs (both of them freespecs). Given that all (or nearly all) of my toons have a freespec and several vet respecs, I can't see myself needing to purchase a respec with real cash money.

However, I do recall reading a number of people asking for other ways to get a respec recipe after they've used their freespecs and gone through all of the respec trials.

I would hope that freespecs will continue to be given out with major issue changes, and that respec recipes continue to drop (however rarely that may be), but I don't really see any problem here. People are obviously willing to pay for a respec, so NC^2 is obliging.
  16. My thoughts:

51 Month Reward: Nice to see the CoV pre-order helmets show up. As has been pointed out already, people did not pay extra for any pre-order items, so there's no reason that they shouldn't be made available as a vet reward now (unlike the premiums included in the CE editions).

54 Month Reward: Meh. An extra power is an extra power, I suppose, but I would have been happier with the choice of one that was not previously offered.
  17. I've put together a new rig with the following hardware:

    C2D E6600 (oc'd to 2.8mHz)
    Abit FP-IN9 SLI mobo
    2gb (2x1024MB) Crucial Ballistix memory
EVGA 8800 GTS (320MB) OC (factory set at 576mHz)
    2x320gb Caviar SATA drives

This box screams when I play CoX in XP Pro at 1280x1024 with all the eye candy maxed. In the driver, I've enabled FSAAx16 and AF to x4. I've no complaints when I run in XP.

However, when I fire up Vista....I'm rather unhappy. I'm running the latest drivers (158.45 beta), and I get framerates of DOOM when I'm just hanging out in Wentworth's.
I have found that disabling Aero before I start CoX does tend to help, but it's still way short of the XP performance. I've even OC'ed the 8800 to 607/900mHz, which still doesn't get me XP performance. And at this point, I don't like overclocking the video card because it runs pretty hot. I need to get another fan in the case before I make any additional long-term overclocks.

Short of turning down some of the eye candy (which I don't want to do) does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do w/ Vista to make it play CoX better?
