  1. I find it funny how I've received anonymous comments for my post, detailing how Mystic Fortune is different than other powers, calling me a "whiner" and telling me to "cry more".

See... I'm not the one complaining here. I'm happy and thanked the developers for the change. That means no crying... and no whining.
I just was responding with logic about how a 20 minute power is different than a 2-4 minute one. Among other differences.

If you want to point out anything to contradict what I've said, reply. Send me a PM if you feel the need.
Anonymous attempts at rather misguided insults are quite a sad way to handle your own issues with changes that the developers are making to the game.

    Heehee...

Hey there. Julian Drake. Mastermind, loosely defined.

You and I, Protea, we have a history, don't we? All I wanted to do was have a joy ride of a time and slaughter my clones for the lulz.

And what do you do? You BREAK IT!

Now, I'm a pretty unreasonable guy. I want everything, and I want it all. And here's my bright shiney. Just give me my clones and the ability to watch populate the Golden Giza and attend a magic act where I kill me brutally for my own amusement. I would been quiet. One mass slaughter. That's it. We had reached a compromise, the universe and me.

But you couldn't have that, could you?

Look, I don't know what universe you're from and looking at you confuses me. Makes my eyes hurt. But I hate you. I hate about as much as I hate anyone that looks at me cross eyed, which is a whole damn lotta hate.

Now, if I see you? Again? In my neighborhood. I'm g'un kill ya. Kill ya bad. And kill ya brutally. Unless Jersey Shore is on.

You better pray Jersey Shore is on.

    *storms out*

Yo, Julia Drake... *hands Julian a DVR*
Record that noise and let's kick his butt regardless!!

  4. It does look gorgeous and nice job with the video!

I have to admit, I'm curious if we'll be able to get any official word on the glow glove effects (possible combat auras or something? Just intrigued here, is all) and whether that effect on that jumping character (While Ghost Falcon is mentioning Power Customization) is an effect in the game or a post processing effect done in video editing.
    Again, just curious

Power Pool customization is a long process, as it needs to include some brand new UI designs and figuring out, along with the power effect work, so that bit stands out to some of us, hehe.

    Nice job on the video.

(Now, where's the next part??? )
  5. Woooo, those are some excellent winners there!
    Great job!

I liked all of them, but I really have to say that the "Perfection/Unity" one really is beautifully sleek work. I love it.

Hehe, yeah, that is the brave that is often used in place of the word stupid.

And adding mouths to that advert is not really the same, as GG mentioned well enough for me not to have to repeat.

Look, we know Power Pool Customization is coming. We just have been told it'll be after Going Rogue. And, honestly, that is still what I am expecting. Even if they have been able to work on it and show a sneak of it in this video... or even if they haven't been able to work on it and that was just some little trick they had ready... The voice and the images are not an accident at that moment. So, they might have an earlier than expected sample of it, they might not. Either way, it's just a matter of time. And since I don't really believe time exists... I've been enjoying it since the day I died.

    New GR video! :D

Yeah... I don't notice any difference. I thought maybe there was something they wanted to edit out.
I wonder what the big deal was about holding it off. I mean, there could be a ton of legitimate reasons, so I am not flaming them for it.
I just be curious, is all.

Before they released it today, I was wondering if that jumping effect while they mentioned Power Customization was an unintentional misleading edit or something (I kept trying to think if there was some other power that would cause that effect or something).
Anyways... I am glad that this was not the case, heehee...

(Of course, that effect could be something from Kinetic Melee [or some other new thing from GoRo] for all we know [not that I think that is the case... just saying])
  8. Hmm, yeah, is that possibly one of the new "stance emotes" on display with the female holding her bow with arrow?
  9. I am indeed curious about the effect on that jumping while talking about power customization.

And I am also curious about those glowy effects on the hands and stuff, as we had previously seen in screenshots. Power effects? Combat Auras? Inquiring minds want to know!!

  11. A lot of people refer to the fact that this change/addition to purchasing options makes it so that they didn't have all of the information when they made their choice to Pre-Purchase...

And, this is true... Except for the fact that everyone knew there was still more information to come. Namely with the price for the Complete Edition Bonus Pack.

Most assumed they'd charge $10. It could have been more. It's actually for less ($6.99).

So, any one of us who pre-purchased took the early access, gave up the 1 month game time and committed to having to buy the Bonus Pack should they want its contents and liked the price.

Basically... Things were known to be unknown at that time.

I am not trying to flame anyone nor even make a case against anyone feeling a bit perturbed. That's everyone's right.
I just honestly wonder how many people who pre-purchased, truly would have not gone for the early access in favor of the GameStop pre-order.

I'm sure there may be some. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that most of the people jumping at early access would not have held out for this minimal enhancement bonus.

I'm not making universal claims though.

Anyway... It just seems a bit dishonest on the customer side to be stressing how unfair it was for things to turn out this way... when there were already unknown factors back when the pre-purchase was made available.

And I agree with Zombie Man. If you are a completionist, always be prepared to spend more.

Hope it all works out for everyone though

The system really is stupid. Unless, it is just a trap for trolls and jerks. They send anonymous rude/offensive/rule-breaking comments, thinking they can get away with it... and, whamo, they get sent to Siberia!! Maybe?

I just find it odd. Reply to people on the boards. Have some taste and respect and... Oh, never mind. I expect too much from humanity... never mind people hiding behind the anonymity of the internet.

I call it like I see it. Never shy from saying what I want. I do it with respect. Often times with an attempt at humor. To my surprise, the rep thing has been steady and positive. Still... You make some posts in certain topics and you get hit with some BS comments. I found it funny though... Two negative comments (simple and rude ones, at that) and they only knocked 4 points off of my total, hehehe. Hey, idgits... You need bigger friends.

Haha... (yes, quoting myself) Who sent me Neg Rep with the comment "lol" to this? Haha... You should have at least signed it!

I've been thinking this same thing. People who resort to such a thing really shouldn't feel like they can get away with it. It's not healthy for the community overall. Unfortunately... I get the feeling it won't be healthy for our moderators either, haha. Still... It just seems wrong to let people toss anonymous insults at will without any repercussions. Reporting even the stupidest (Yet, obviously personal attack) ones seems the right thing to do.

Both positive and negative comments on public display would be healthier for the community.

I really don't get the rep comment business, hehe, but ah well, I've already said that.

Oh... and I really don't get the hostility shown towards Alti.
Clearly there is some history between you two.
Frankly, I found the reply to Alti uncalled for and not really making the points I think you were trying to make.
I don't know who has done wrong to whom in the past, but it seems like that history poisoned the exchange there.

  15. Re: warden_de_dios It's a shame that such stupidity tends to be so pervasive. It becomes inescapable, it seems. At least it was in mockery, I suppose (And imagine/hope).
Hehe, I have to admit that I only thought it was some joking reference to a strong presence of French on the Freedom Server or something that I didn't know about. Ah well... *throws rotten tomatoes at Warden*

Anyway, thank you for putting these together and cross posting about it in here!
I am, indeed, curious to check this out.
  16. Fire and/or Mental may be more efficient, I am not a numbers guy... But I have mention that Electrical manipulation is a damn fine blapping secondary.
I only have experience with it as an Elec/Elec. And the symmetry between those two sets may be the difference, but I do know that the melee attacks in Electric are super on their own. Charged Brawl, Havoc Punch and Thunder Strike are quite enjoyable and efficient. Shocking Grasp is a nice damage plus hold at 35.
I'm used to having the Electric Primary's Short Circuit to combine with Power Sink... and Tesla Cage as further aiding my blap-trolling...
But yeah, I'm pretty sure people beyond us Elec/Elec fan boys think of the Electrical Secondary as a great blapping power set.

I don't think you can go wrong with any three of those choices though.

I'm always a concept sort of creator though. So, my main suggestion is going with which one you can picture

Oh, and yes... Blasters can fire the first two attacks in their Primary while held, so it can be a very good thing to have both. Short of that benefit and if you really only want to choose one, again, I'd say go with concept/coolness-factor. Do you want them to shoot from their eyes or hands? The recharge/damage/end ratio is basically the same (I think). So, go with what style suits you. Again, though, both is a very good answer!

    Best of luck!

Basically, Tyrant was giving an address from his perch above the masses of Praetoreans... But he forgot to wear his pants. And the Moderators had to take the video down due to the graphic nature of the images.

Just so you know, the prompt was removed in order to counter an exploit that some players were apparently abusing.

I think it was in the beta forums where Castle replied about this issue (Unhappiness about the auto accept) and explained that he had tried to fix it without removing the prompt, but was unsuccessful.

Seems as though he or someone else may have come up with a way to do it. So, here it is.

    I feel the same way!
Never mind "highly ethical" though... Hey, I pretty much despise all things marketing gimmick, optional exclusive special bonus content, paid for add-ons, blah blah blah... (I'm not saying that I'm right for having these opinions, I'm just making this clear of what my opinions are on such things)... But I would vote in favor of this, no question.

In my opinion, Paragon Studios showed their awesomeness and great care about us in that they managed to come up with a special exclusive bonus that *shouldn't ruffle any feathers.
    * shouldn't being the operative word, of course (And just my opinion, of course).

  22. Seriously, as much as I tend to dislike differing options for exclusive items... this one is such a well done one, as it really shouldn't be craved by all of us.

I mean... one could look at this (I hate to say this) as poor marketing on the side of the exclusive bonus items are not good enough!

To me, it's like a bunch of adults feeling left out because their pre-order didn't include those arm flotation devices to help young children float in water.

We don't need them... and it is good for the game and for new players.

I understand that you didn't have all the options presented to you when you made your decisions... Come on... All possibilities can never be known. Make a leap. Live with it. Be happy.

    Score for the pragmatists?
  23. I think this is a cool and reasonable bonus.
It is figuratively nothing, but not literally.

Hehe, when marketing goes and puts super cool bonuses in different packages for the same products, I find that disappointing, cheap, lame, blah blah blah (My personal opinion).

And, honestly, when I first saw this announcement, I though, "Oh no...".

Then I read the original information... and said, "Oh. That's cool. I don't feel the need for that, but it'll help people who do get it when they're 1-20".

It's like a bit of edible candies. Here ya go... enjoy these... try and make 'em last.

I don't mind not getting some candies while others are.

If it were awesome looking costume parts, ninja-run-like powers, or whatever... I'd be all Boohoo and and stuff.

This, however, is a nice level of bonus and balance. Not something worth any rage or envy.

Seriously, that is a tricky balance and I thank the Devs for making something that is a bonus, but not something that really stinks to not have. The Procs are a nice touch to push them above what we can obtain relatively normally.

I only hope that this is it and further things aren't laid out that counter what I've just said, hehe.

Then again... that's part of trust and all. I honestly think this Team has shown how cool they are. And I am using that as a basis for thinking that they won't parade a multitude of different options that will leave a reasonable person upset for not buying three or more copies of the expansion.

Thank you and good job, Paragon Studios
  24. Until and unless something more is done, the prompt is the happy middle ground between the two camps. I really don't think they're going to be putting work into that right now (I could be wrong, of course.. they're just busy and asking for and/or expecting more development time when the solution/compromise is already existent seems like it could be a bit much).

No one really wants a prompt, but many want the choice. The prompt is the way this is currently possible, therefore it is our only choice. If/when they add auto accept/decline then that's another story.

I could honestly say, "I fail to see the severe negative nature of the prompt... a tiny window, 'Yes or No?'", but that would be equivalent to those who say, "I fail to see the negative side of the buff, visuals or sounds".
The thing is... without the prompt, those on the one side are completely at a loss, while those who don't care about the visuals or audio or any other thing people may not like about them are completely in the win.

This debate isn't Prompt vs Opinion. It is Opinion vs Opinion and then one side of that is ignoring the other side and not even wanting the prompt.

In this case, the opposite of no prompt would be no power.

Anyways, the point is... Think beyond yourself and accept/understand that Mystic Fortune lasts for 20 minutes, has always had a visual that remains the entire time and now also has a sound effect and some people also don't want the buffs nor the potential debuffs.

PS: Hiya, DQ! I was planning to post this before I saw your reply! While I would be happier with no visual and audio, some people apparently play a somewhat hardcore soloist game where they don't like any outside buffs. *shrugs* The problem really is the 20 minute duration. Everything else lasts 2-4 minutes and that can go by pretty quickly, really.
All I know is, no option completely derails some people's fun. And none of us want that! As much as some people don't like the prompt... does it really derail anyone's fun? A momentary window (Even at every 20 minutes) compared to being forced to play with something that annoys you for a duration of 20 minutes. And remember... the opposite side also has to deal with the prompt. So, that's not exclusively one side's deal.

(bah, this went on too long... just wanted to say that the prompt is the middle ground compromise for now. Let's all get along and have fun, eh?)

    New GR video! :D

If I jumped out of my seat, would that mean that I was figuratively shocked?

And Tokyo... while a bit clunky... that highlighted part of the sentence is indicating water mains and water pipes. The second and is housing both the mains and pipes to water.
Correct? I think it might be.
Clunky? Yeah, I'd say it's not entirely smooth.

However... Haha, could you provide some more examples? That is literally and literarily a very weak attack against their entire campaign if you're claiming it is riddled with poor grammar, spelling and overall editing!
