  1. Oh, and GMan3, I'm not snootily avoiding this conversation or ignoring you, I just respectfully am not going to take part right now, hehe.
Between being on meds for a sinus infection and being okay with letting people have their own opinions, I'm not up for it.

And, from what I have read of some of the back and forth, DarkGob is posting pretty close to what I'd have to say.

But anyways, just having a good time. Hope everyone else does too

    Oh!
Sheesh... My brain really is not functioning properly today...
I got mine via PM on the forums. I was assuming that was how everyone was getting them, but I don't know, hehe.
    Sorry I missed that before!

Yeah... You know, I forgot about this!

Seriously, if I can just move objects in smaller increments to line them up better and stuff... I would be so very happy.

I hope we see this soon.

(Along with all those call pieces of furniture that exist all around the game, but not in our bases!)

Although... then I'll have a lot of editing to do on my villain's casino...

    My condolences to the lady.

She doesn't, by any chance, wink a lot... does she?

As for applying them, go to plaync.com, log in to your game account, enter the code, and apply it against your City account. If you are already logged into City you may need to log out and back in before the codes apply. Then, open your powers window and under one of the sections on the right (labeled temporary) you will have the costumes as toggle powers. You can then drag them into trays, etc. (Sorry if that's not what you were asking, that's how I interpreted your question..)
Nice! I wasn't even thinking along those lines when reading the question, hehe.
    Good job

    Hmm...

    Paragonwiki has 6 listed HERE.
    Freakshow Boss Costume
    Carnival Harlequin Costume
    PPD Hardsuit Costume
    Knives of Artemis Costume
    Ring Mistress Costume
    Praetorian Clockwork Costume

And then there's the latest ones, the Ghoul... And the Praetorien Police.

I actually haven't applied my codes yet... I'm a slacker!

You might be able to get the person who sent you the codes to tell you which is which, but they may be sending them out like that intentionally, to avoid real market sales and such (I have no idea, just speculating).

Just to be fair, I thought the "gimmie" was pretty much a giveaway, if nothing else, that this was being said in a non-serious tone. That and shouting War Witches name, hehe... I read it as being jokingly cutesy/demanding type stuff.

Regardless... Let's everyone get off of each other's backs, eh?
This is the thread for asking WW some questions!

I can honestly relate to the idea of hating to exemp. However, I also understand that, with the way things are setup, they're not going to make everything match up to higher levels for you to run through.

Still... Donna wants that and wants to ask WW about that. So be it!

Okay... I have to ask a question now...

WW, which McKenzie Brother do you like best and why?

  9. Eh, it's all good. It's not a matter of me investing/reading any emotions in anything though. I'm not going to quote all of your posts (In multiple threads), but the spill over of the party pack in the Meet & Greet thread (And all about the age limit... which may not even be the case) and now that they "screwed up" this contest, etc... It's just a lot of negativity and that's all.

As for constant lag... I don't experience it. Stating it as a simple universal problem isn't going to help you nor them to figure out why people may be experiencing that.
Negative feedback can be great when it is constructive. Not simply for the sake of being nice, but for getting the problems figured out and (hopefully) solved.

Then again... "Buggy releases that take weeks to fix? Quality. Issue releases messing up almost every aspect of the games, not just the stuff they are supposed to add?"
    ... Huh??
I'm not seeing that at all.
What was so buggy about the releases?
And... almost every aspect of the game has been messed up?

Hehe... I find some of what you say rational, but then I see these things and it seems rather hyperbolic.
I'm really not sure what aspects of the game have been so heavily hit by recent issues that is making you say this.
Maybe stuff that hasn't hit me and my machine (Nor anyone else I know and play with)?

And no... I actually am not playing on a fancy new system (As I know sometimes people with brand new systems talk about things like no one in the world should have anything lesser than what they have, hehe).

So it is obvious there was a screw up, it really doesn't appear to be Marketings fault, and it really does appear to be a case of "Oops, my mistake, I'll fix it when I get to it".
So you want to jump all over them for a delay and continue to refer to a supposed "trend" of screwing things up?

They gave stuff out for free.
It looks like it will take them less than two weeks to give every convention costume code to the winners.
The only delay is a perceived one, as no time table was set. The party pack code was given immediately (To me and anyone else I've seen talk about it).

I'm thinking they may have been matching the globals to the forum handles and I don't know what else may have been tying them up before they could send all the codes... they do other things at their job as well... Not just give out gifts).

I think the apologies and such from Avatea were more along the lines of a nicety. You know, politeness... Then again, based on your posts about this stuff... Maybe you don't know.

Look... I'm right there with the feedback that the Party Pack was overpriced. Ever since that, I've seen some real vitriolic nitpicking from you and some others and it is a bit absurd.
I dare suggest, in the kindest way possible, that perhaps you might like to lighten up a bit.

"another screw up. A trend of screw ups"
    Over this?
    C'mon!

If you're that upset over the way the company has been, I honestly and sincerely suggest you take a step back and see if you feel the same way afterward (Not saying, leave or quit or anything. Just an honest, healthy reevaluation), because all you're really accomplishing is generating negativity on a message board. Whether you take issue with the fact that your negativity is not garnering results (They're not changing nor replying to specific things you wish for them to) or not... it's all you're accomplishing.

I've been a part of railing against a company to no avail. Best thing I ever did was step back and figure out if I still enjoyed the product regardless of anything else going on around it (Their mistakes, decisions I disagree with, current and future business plans). Once I realized that I was entirely capable of having fun within the bubble of the actual product, my feedback and forum presence was much happier (Even though it was equally critical).

Also... In a world of monsters, NCSoft, at worst, is a pretty cool, kind and friendly monster.

    Just my thoughts.

    Bubbles please

Arcana is just trying to thwart my attempts to have all Fire sets renamed to Super Mega Secret Time-Traveling Negative-Regeneration Power!™

    Well played Arcana... Well played...

I'll get you... And your little dog too!

So, instead -Regen would be a case of "Retcon: You DID NOT Heal That Beforehand Power".

Somehow it lacks the same pizazz.

    le sigh

Anyway... bubbles, bubbles... who's got the bubbles?
  12. Just wanted to say that I don't see any other power pool changes (Or even these inherent power options) coming along with (or because of) this change with the Fitness Pool.... because... I think making Fitness inherent is just a change for the sake of the Blue Bar and the extreme numbers on how often Stamina is taken and how much of an issue the majority of the playerbase has with endurance management pre-Stamina.

I could be wrong though. In some ways, if that is the entire reason for it, it could be seen as somewhat of a "lazy fix", since they're throwing the other four powers in as inherent powers as well.

Regardless if it were truly a "lazy fix", it is welcome one for the vast majority of players.
And probably worth it, rather than trying to adjust the blue bar game and figure out what to replace Stamina with (Or how to change it).

So, I just see this as entirely focused on the blue bar. And the affect it has on Power Pools is somewhat of a peripheral happenstance.

    If ya follow me.
  13. I don't see the "screw up"!

I got my codes from Ocho, delivered as promised!

    Muchas gracias!
  14. Hehe... Too much negativity in this thread...

    I'm looking forward to this.
Don't anyone be shy there. The last East Coast M&G, I was walking around shouting "LFG".
If you see me, please say hi or tell me you hate my avatar because it takes too long to load or whatever you want to say, hehe.
It'll be nice to put some faces to the pouty posts some of you make (KIDDING!!).

    Hehe, and thanks Phillygirl!
I have to admit, it would be nice to allow the kiddivinkies to attend some of these.
Then again, I can see it being a bit of a nightmare if you actually had... little kids running around. Hadn't really thought about that extreme of it before.

Oh... and someone brought up whether the team would be dodging questions.

Well, I saw plenty of War Witch (especially) taking on any and all comments and questions.
She (And all of them) were so very down to earth and personal.
I think people forget how much of a fan each one of them are, themselves, hehe.

But yeah... The way they were freely talking with people about PvP at the Boston M&G... I don't think they're going to be hiding from anything.

  16. I just really hope we'll get power pool customization... some time soon.
*I think any work on pools, readjusting pools, adding pools, swimming in pools... should all wait until after we get (at least) rudimentary power pool customization.

    * unless, of course, that work would not interfere and whatnot (I just know they need to figure out how to do a UI for players to customize power pools... along with then all the coding to make the power customizable... and then all the new animations and effects. So, it seems to take up many departments).

With the inherent Fitness concept coming soon... I have wondered about more choices for optional inherent abilities/powers at character's start.
Small inherent bonuses, buffs, powers, traits. More of flavor with some slight numbers/gameplay mechanics with them.
It could be a cool addition (But also could become a bit silly and make it a bit too easy to achieve certain numbers and stuff).

Not anything I desperately want to see though.

All I really want is power pool (And Epic Pools [and Ancillary Pools]) customization.

I don't see the inherent Fitness announcement as indicating that we might see any new power pools any time soon though.
(Not that we won't, I just don't think so)
  17. Even with complete understanding of such an encounter...

    Mystery Origin?

Just to contribute to the slight hijack (Of potential epic hysteria):

The Marvel Universe had a bit of a different classification/definition of mutants than Cit Of.

Marvel has had the "Induced Mutant" for a long while which would most often be called "Science" origin by the more strict interpretation of CoH's definitions.

Still, the predisposed mutant genes thing is legitimate and I don't think it was just a cop-out to tie in the civil war stuff.

I just remember the old Marvel Table Top RPG rules and Hulk and Spidey were absolutely listed as mutants back then. Induced mutants, yes, but mutants nonetheless, hehe.
I always thought that the predisposition was just a further rationalization/inspection of the general idea (Kind of making it a little more special and possibly understandable/believable (So to speak)...
"Hey, not everyone who is bitten by a radioactive spider would get super powers from it, etc."

And yeah... I sometimes think that very few people use their inherent powers. In some conversations about enemies running away, I started to wonder how often people use their ranged inherent powers to try and snag the flee-ers.
A few will immob and even the bleed from knives will sometimes help.

    *shrugs*
Some of my characters never touch the inherents. Some do... some a bit frequently.

I will endeavor to procure a code that will work for the EU game.

    Mystery Origin?

I'm all for "forget what the emblem says... my character's real origin is..." instead of just having to stick to the in-game origin.

That being said... I usually match them up (Although, sometimes it can be difficult).

For a "mystery origin", it is an interesting decision. I've actually had a few cases of this myself.
The character's origin of power is different than what is claimed and thought by the FBSA.
So, since the origin is really just a listing/categorization by the FBSA, I'd usually be tempted to go with what they think it is. UNLESS... I fully intended to unveil the truth within a reasonable amount of time. Then I might go with the actual origin.

However... I have chosen an origin entirely based on the power it gets.

I've taken natural just because the character needed to throw knives (When, really, I thought of the character as a mutant).

Amazing Ape is a mutant, but uses tech to amplify his powers... And I wanted the taser, so I went with Tech origin.

I don't mind if other players want to go by an origin type other than they chose and I could see going either way when it comes to a mystery/secret/unknown origin.

Techno... You would get far much more usage of this code than I.
If you didn't begin a derailment in the costume thread... I'd give it to you!
(Haha, kidding... you've got one coming, once I get it)
  22. I will be there (Unless I'm apprehended, abducted, disintegrated or otherwise run amiss)!!

I'm looking forward to seeing the gang again, some familiar faces and hopefully some new ones of players and forumites!
  23. Well, see Lady_Cyrsei, that's the crux of it!
I've been part of a great group, The Paragon Universe, for a couple of years now.
We are pretty small and have definitely lost people over the years and our recruiting efforts generally result in people looking for bigger, more active groups and eventually disappearing (not all, of course!).
The biggest problem seems to be that people want that big, active SG to join... When, sure, that could be great, sometimes what you need to do is become part of it yourself.
If everyone who wanted that wonderfully active, IC, RP, mature, OOC drama-free SG would join together... we'd have it.

So... I will kindly suggest that you (And anyone else) check out Paragon Universe. You'll see a lack of activity, I'm sure. However, that being said... We have weekly events on multiple nights and often end up having too many for one team.

We're a SG based around the concept of one base (A pocket dimensional base discovered by a few heroes) that is used by multiple teams of heroes and other independent heroes interested in making use of those facilities.

It's mainly a home for smaller SGs/Super Teams to all share and obtain the benefits of being a bigger SG (Always people on [crossovers], big fully functional base).

We had (And still have a couple) small subteams with their own themes and such. The name Paragon Universe is actually an OOC name which represents the basis of the group... Like the Marvel or DC Universes... It is the umbrella over the different comicbook titles/super teams (Fantastic Four, Avengers, X-Men, and solo artists and lots of cross overs and teamups!).

It's a great idea and has worked well when we've had the people.
We're far from dead though... But I don't wish to pretend that we're super active and busy... only to have people come by and be disappointed.

So, we cover all your points very well except for the always SG chatter/superly active.
However, so long as those who join are similarly mature and reasonable people, like we've enjoyed throughout our existence, we'd have that level of activity.
And, we all know how it works... It just takes a few people being active to inspire the others, and so on and so forth.

Sorry for the big long rambling reply, but I know that we have a great thing over here that could very much use more solid role-players and people looking not only to take part... but be a part of the big time fun we can all have.

And yeah, the definitions of "Heavy" or "Medium" role-playing has become a pretty confusing thing.
I generally refer to myself as a heavy RPer, but by some definitions, I am likely NOT.

I and the PU are always IC and anything OOC is in brackets. We do everything IC. From just simple teaming to TFs to whatever we're up to.

We have an OOC global channel for coordinating and keeping in touch while doing other things and whatnot. It is open to join "Paragon Universe" for people to contact us and work out an IC meeting and/or to get to know us (Or just spy on us) a little.

    1. We seem to be "heavy RP" as you suggest... IC all the time and not necessarily dramatic stuff, just always IC and in the world, etc.

2: Activity is a weird one as we could definitely be MORE active, but then again, we generally get more than 8 people for our regularly scheduled team nights and such (Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and any other thing we add as needed/wanted.

3: Events - We like to have each subteam leader run at least a weekly night. While these things are usually AE mission arcs created specifically for that night... It can just be RP in the base (or anywhere), TFs, any sort of missions or Giant Monster or whatever. So, we have those regular mini events multiple nights a week (All of our current ongoing teams have an open invite to any member). The more subteams we have, the more events that take place (Sometimes we've had multiple ones on the same night).
In other words, we like events!

4: The PU overall has zero IC rules, other than having to be a hero (Or at least convince the existing members that the character is trustworthy enough to have permission and residency within the base, "the Citadel"). Different Subteams CAN have any such rules, if they wish, such as uniforms or whatever. However, none of our current subteams have any uniform rules. S.T.O.R.M., sort of a super-hero spec ops type of group (Though the current leadership is very relaxed) has some uniform options, but no mandates.

5: No prestige farming, that's for sure. Great, mature, standup individuals make up our membership and our founding members. The main thing is... We consider ourselves leaderless, but more accurately... we are all the leaders. We will vote on any issues that someone wants to raise. We mostly work things out through intelligent discussion and handle things responsibly. It's worked well for us for the 2+ years we've been together. We want people to dive in with us, with respect and be a leader themselves. Plus, all the subteams have their own leader for that particular group.

6: "NO DRAMA!" This is why I don't think I could ever leave this SG, hehe (Or one reason, anyway). I look around... and feel pretty happy about how things have always been rather cool here. I'm happy to be a part of that, myself.

Yeah, I need to post in the recruitment thread and I should try and spread the word a bit more than I have. Honestly, times have been busy and people's insistence on only joining a highly active SG has made recruiting less fun and, with that little time, many of us have just focused on having fun when we do have the time to play!

(Not sure if this long ramble is ready for posting, but here goes!)

Join the "Paragon Universe" OOC channel and/or check out our guildportal site and forums and think about it.
We would love and welcome individual players, existing groups, or new Group/Team concepts ready to be put into action who may be willing to come under the Paragon Universe umbrella and enjoy our base and great, mature, friendly and awesome role-players for the big time fun that is CoH RP!
  24. Actually, I didn't grab Stamina or any of Fitness on my Bots/FF.

I also only use standard IOs in my build and all I have to say is... It is amazing!

You might want to slot the Protector Bots with 1 Acc 2 Damage 2 Defense and 1 End Mod (As they can run out of endurance in fights. I had read about doing that, but opted not to... and then changed my mind after seeing them run out in person).

When I was starting up my character, I found the Bots/FF guides in the Mastermind Guides to be have some very helpful advice for power selection and usage, as well as for general slotting.
However, if you're just looking for an IO build and whatnot, I can't help you there.

If you stick with it... you're in for a real treat!

As I was moving through the levels, I just couldn't imagine it could get better (As people had told me it would)... but level 38 proved me so wrong, haha.
  25. Good grief... SHUSH!
We're getting some free stuff. They didn't say it would come immediately, haha.

THink of it as coming in the mail

Sheesh! A little patience can do you some good.
This isn't a huge foul up, good grief, haha. Oh noes... me has to wait weeks to get my costume codes... Lemme go crawl into my bed. Or perhaps I should call the better business bureau!!

    DON'T PANIC
