Because, you know, a bunch of grown men and women playing dressing up digital dolls is serious internet business.Really, is there *that* much harm in giving themes an honest-to-goodness effort? "Picture This" is a short game that exercises and challenges the imagination. What's the worst that could happen? A re-imagined character that looks sucky? 'Cause I gotta say, there are plenty of not so rockin' concepts running around in CoH. I don't think creating more is going to hurt anyone.
If you want to see how interesting a theme could make things, check out Marvel's limited series, 1602. The Marvel Universe shifted into the 17th century. Really, I don't see how a theme "limits" things. The only thing in a game like this that's really stopping you is your own imagination. Step out of the box a little and see what you can really do. A theme is a challenge that would only help you be a better writer/designer in the long run.

I agree. -
i got 2 50's both heroes and spend more time an blue side,
Electagonist is my signature character and is a elec/elec brute he's a bit of a fallen hero, with split personalities. so sometimes he's heroic but for the most part he's not. -
I did this to an existing character, that I couldnt find a look that was just right for before.
Shock Exchange
I love the way she looks now, and the face is exactly what I was looking for -

i always use the Google translator for all my foreign language needs and it seldom lets me down.... OK sometimes it does, but as i am in the blissful ignorance of not knowing i get to run around with a character with a cool foreign sounding name!
I find myself with the same degree of altitis
Green weasel the original and my main hero.
Grim weasel the Evil or praetorian version
There is also Wire Weasel but i havent got screenshots of him and he's the robot version.
War weasel who is.... well i guess he's just the scrapper version of the weasel
and rest assured. as soon as i finish commenting in here and city of heroes loads there will be a soviet or nazi weasel aswell -

Once upon a Positron there was a bug. It's purple Mankey liked saving walruses deaths. Until a green shoe fell off a pretty cloud of root beer fluff cleaving off seven little toes while chewing Bubblegum. After seeing the drunk Pinnacle-ite puke chunky bits of magnets, it stumbled into a garbage carafe. Feeling pretty depressed, it died a Lonely death.
Elsewhere, there were some hungry hippos dancing on me for every time one slurps from the fountain of Wayne. In the early dawn, sirens wailed under a pale little moon made of nothing. People thought they saw Ghost Widow munching on Doritos with Valerie. But it wasn't Doritos, it was a magical corncob that sexy Jay designed with care.
This time, she wanted 12 umpa-loompas and 5 slimy Pterodactyls with Listerine. Suddenly the wizard Spanksalot grumbled with great big annoyance. Dirty scoundrels sacked small vermin left by evil midgets wearing pink Fedoras and speedos. However, Elvis wasn't having cheesecake; he stopped to adjust Stacy's corset that had melted rubber down its frog but sadly, he died.
Cheney shot the lawyer in the buttocks with spitballs made of recycled garbage with asparagus. After blowing the mayor, he loaded up 12 hundred bucks obtained illegally so he licked garbage which Statesman tossed overseas. I then drank sour kiwi Rum. Drunken Avenger then sang Imagine. Afterward, Lily Tomlin beheaded the Tele-tubby while it sat eating pickled beets.
Next, Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockheart, Vincent Valentine and Yuffie Kisaragi took Aeris Gainsborough out cold.
Considering everything that transpired, little foot sat on his behind waiting for apples. Eskimo kisses tickled my tootsies unmercifully. Eventually, they screamed bloody Sunday until one benevolent little prince started rubbing knobs fiercely.
More midgets climbed Numina and pruned quietly. Taking advantage of nimble and skilled gastrointestinal parasites wasn't such a hard chore, except flying ones drove crazy trains.
Then, He-man decided to lick post-its and stuff because chimichangas just weren't enough. Orko screaming meemies blubered aimlessly South. The dog chewed Positron. He farmed ancient Rikti chimichangas. Then, Captain Swatkowski dribbled on his bib. This caused Swatkowski to run slower; the ice cream chimichanga tripped. Sensing imminent disaster, Pablo summoned blue fire buttfungus, unleashing unspeakable horrors. After the Furby stimulated mister Chimichanga, he stole -
this one has been on my to do list for a while. Voila!
really happy with how this turned out. comments and critique is welcome! -
My Pick. a relatively short biography is in the Artist's comments of the screen shots. Im going to allow the background story to do most of the persuasion.
I think that a fight between Bayani and Mao would be terribly interesting, as they both have Martial art's backgrounds but have polar opposite personalities and powers, as fire is traditionally used to provide light, Mao has mastery over the darkness. Bayani lost he's father, Mao killed he's own father to further he's own status.
I believe that There is the right mix of similarities and Differences to make this an awesome fight, and would make for a great picture. appearance wise there are enough similarities one could almost argue that Mao is somewhat of a Praetorian Bayani (ofcourse he's not but yeah) anyway. I think it would be an awesome choice. the ball's in your court buddy -

I think it was an interesting point of view. The main thing that I disagree with is with the "us vs them" (traditional=hard and character building vs digital=easy and servile) reasoning. From my perspective it is counter-productive and unneeded. Art is not the chosen medium, it is the message.
[/ QUOTE ]
I find a computer easier for art. that's just my feelings on the matter based on my experiences. I'm perfectly willing to admit that depending on the person my point of view may appear misconceived.
As for instructors against erasers, I think that's a very Fine art sort of approach to drawing, we are talking comic book art and all the pro comic book artist ive seen drawing in video clips use erasers, often even as a part of the process not just for mistakes.
at the end of the day it's just my feelings on the matter, im sure some will disagree and in some cases I'm downright wrong (depending on the person), but as it effects me, I think Doing things traditionally is the best way to start. -
More digi-paint today Drunken Avenger ( and I don't mean tony stark
), Been working on alot of bigger projects, like overdue commissions etc
I'm so glad to be on holidays! I can finally get some work done!
(I realize the Oxymoron in that statement)
