Surprisingly, they were all done with MS Paint. the BMP format in paint was a little bit higher than Photoshop's JPG format. (paint:87 ppi, PS CS2: 79 ppi) But I do find I convert better from BMP to JPG in Photoshop better. Paint just leaves color blocks all over the image. Also, I am using max resolution in the game of 1280x1024.
I can't help that as a professional IT person, I *HAVE* to have the near latest system. I've been accustomed to a 3 year replacement schedule..... -
ok, this is my attempt. I envisioned a dark outfit and tentrils as the aura. So in the spirit of Light-Speed I came up with this. Now to explain, I did the hair short because she's speeding around and doesn't need hair cutting her face as she running. The goggles are a high tech set with internal readouts, and high speed capturing and playback capabilities. They also come with acceleration adaptive motion sensors so that you are notified with little blips when moving objects could cross your path of travel.
Basically I tried to keep it simple and functional. with the goggles added. I hope it helps.... -
I understand. I have just spent 2 whole days getting screenshots twice and sometimes even four times of all my characters, cropping them, assembling them into new formats, and then uploading them painfully and slowly to DA with little backstories. But hey, they are my characters and to me, they are worth it.
So don't feel you need to apologize for using photobucket. It's alot faster than using DA for those times you have alot of pics to post. -
I enjoyed these so much I even put in a suggestion to call Dursagon stupid and let him drop through a trap door.
-
I so love 3, 5, and 6! I nearly died, I was laughing so hard.
-
ok, 24 hours total of work put in in two days and I'm finally able to post references of my 22 characters. If anyone says that taking over 50 screenshots and puting them together into something understandable is easy, they're lying!
I did this because I really do like them and I'd be more than happy to see people do their own artwork of them. I have gotten a few commissions of them done and a few freebies as well. I am open to anything, even parodies as long as I'm informed that an artist wants to do a parody. I can luagh with the best of them. I still chuckle over Alex's picture of DB12 being outplayed at go-fish with some other nefarious players.
So now on to the links!

Thanks for taking the time to view this. -
I don't blame CoX for trying something new. As someone who has played CoX for years now, I don't like it.
Why?
Because the quality of people at My Space is not the best. Casual_Player defined them best. They are overall not the type of people who will stick with a game until they get 1 toon to lvl 50. Most of the target audience at My Space is to young, too immature, and too impatient to play a game longer than a month.
I understand wanting more players, but do something to get the right players. Hit video game stores, ask us to promote (Which I do all the time), and do the comic conventions. Don't waste time on a website like Juvi Detention Central.
in the last 2 years I have seen CoX I have seen the shift from older players who use stratagy give way to a sub-group of players who try to do nothing more than PL in order to get more characters eligible for their PvP "Fight Club" style of playing. Not saying that every PvP'er is that way, but those who do, their numbers are growing. -

I agree with you Hertz, it's much better to get a few lowbie interviews mixed in with known people. Where I come from you don't the news interviewing famous people when a tornado strikes.
[/ QUOTE ]
In the real media you do get Jesse Jackson on the news saying that three white lacrosse players from Duke are obviously guilty, even though Jackson was not an eyewitness, is not a lawyer, and isn't even a resident of Durham. That's one extreme example of the "interview only famous people" doctrine.
On the other hand, just because a character such as lEVEl (for example) is only level 2, there's no way to know that it wasn't a famous player who happened to be running a lowbie that day.
I spent enough time interviewing that I think I got a good representative sample: people who used double XP weekend to hit 50, people who came back to COH after an absence, someone on a trial account, and a player running his first Kheldian which he earned over double XP. What would a famous 50 have said better?
[/ QUOTE ] not much. which is why I'm with you on this one. Much better to get the ol' lady in the trailer than to get Paris Hilton who is in L.A. (no where CLOSE to a tornado, mind you) to give info on what happened when the tornado hit.
Which to some is how Dbl XP weekend was like.
Personally, I went with the flow. I even saw fluxuations in the market at that time which made it easy to get a few badges. But that's another story.... -
Who is Teldon? I wanna hear from MaverickX!

I agree with you Hertz, it's much better to get a few lowbie interviews mixed in with known people. Where I come from you don't the news interviewing famous people when a tornado strikes. No, what you get is someone living in a dbl-wide with a moo-moo on and curlers in their hair and talking like this; "I be dang'd if'n it didn't take Johnny-Bob's place and flung it clear cross tha park! Musta been plum near 3 football fields out!"

I agree with TA. Artists and Artfans both have a story to tell. Like why comic collectors buy comics. For some it's the art, for others it's the story that grips them.
-
I understand. Still can only get so much res out of a scanner...
-
I like. I noticed though that it kinda looked like it was scanned. Was it scanned? and if so is there a way to get a better resolution? Some of the details looked fuzzy.
-
well, artist number 1096 on my watch list......
Very good work. I like the softness of the technique. So many artists, so little time and allowance. (Yes even us married old goats have allowances. It helps keep the peace and stops me from going overboard.) -
Well, I've done a new render of Flare. This time I tried to give her a more heroic look. Also, she's without mask because I've been thinking about removing the masks and going with a more micro-technological solution that will not be seen but allows the characters to breath in a toxic atmosphere.
the render is here.
Should my characters permantly remove their masks? Let me know. I'll try and get some screens posted. -
El D IS good! I like that one Gamma. and btw, hey!
-
I've added chapter 1 to my story you can read it here

Holy bat wings being plucked! I found Bokuman's piece really cool! I liked it ALOT! So much so, I watched the guy on DA and I'm raiding the piggy bank!
-
I have a new commish that I want to show everyone. This piece comes from Jessandpencil on DA. I think she did a great job.

I've created a historical background on my characters. In order to minimize space and not have to alot of cut and paste I'll list the link instead. The story can be found here.

Hey Gamma! Missed you alot! Don't take off and disappear again please. Nice to see you open your shop again. I still have my micro you made me. ttyl.
