  1. as far as the gov reaction...

key differences... Public reveal and Jim attacked a cop and would have then been swarmed by cops. The immediate reaction would have been based on those things.

A private reveal to a government agency dedicated to national security and secrecy gets a hugely different reaction.

As far as "the cure" not "curing" well... You have to consider exactly what happens... basically, the serum gives you what you most want and heals you to some degree, killing infections and fixing any physical problems. A broken leg would be healed much faster. a spinal injury would repair itself. A deadly infection would be killed off. How is this done? Probably rapid cell regeneration... Would this cure cancer? Maybe some cancers but not all it could be argued that Dr. King's cancer cells were rapidly regenerating and due to the rapid regen of both normal and cancer cells his telemeres were extremely short and the cancer was extremely rampant, but one set of cells could hold the other at bay as long as the regen was in effect, once the regen wasn't in effect, the cancer cells, which already rapidly regen normally, would have taken over and because of the short telemeres he would have died.

Of course I don't think that they have an explanation like that, but you can work an explanation with cancer due to how cancer works...

As far as th new powers... the powers work pretty much based on what you want or what you think would be cool... I'd expect that he gave himself multiple injections and was wanting those powers at that time, controlling it to a degree...and technically he only needed one new power so whatever.
  2. I liked the whole series...no idea why others haven't. Also the end of the season was awesome ^.^

Martian Mahunter is avatar of Earth...
The Hawks are the avatar of Wind...

These two(3) should be switched imo...

MM can fly, go through walls, comes from space, change shapes, etc that are more related to air

The Hawks, while they can fly, are from egypt, have their very stable love, and look quite a bit more earth tone-ish...

    Just my opinion.
  4. With you powers combined... I am Swamp thing!

    No.

Bruce Wayne is not "the" mask nor is The Batman. They are both masks. The true character is that person who he is when he isn't out patrolling and putting the fear of himself into criminals and when he's not out gallivanting as a playboy. He's the man that offers jobs to the criminals and gives them a chance to go straight, he's the guy that took in Dick, Jason, Tim, Bane, Damian, Jean-Paul, and a number of others, and was raised by Alfred. The one who makes hard decisions and puts on a hard face while trying to get the best for people. He's the one that realizes his way of life is crap and would love to not have to be The Batman, but knows he could never give it up, and pushes people away because he doesn't want them to go down the hard road he has.

    The Batman is a myth.
    Bruce Wayne is a tool.
    Matches Malone is a con.

The man is none of these, but his friends do call him Bruce, and it is the name his parents gave him, so I doubt he'd truly go by anything else so while he is not the Bruce Wayne that is the public face, he is still Bruce Wayne the private face.
  6. Question,

To be fair the JL would actually be Flash and Martian Manhunter is we were being 100% honest. None of the other characters bring anything extra to the table... Combined they have all the powers of the others if they were properly used.

Funny thing though, Flash doesn't think about tactics and even though MM could read everyone's minds and probably is pretty good with tactics and such, Batman is still better and could still help them more so than any other person in the JL.

So if we're looking at what people bring to the table.... Flash, MM, and Batman... the rest are redundant and useless.
  7. You guys do realize, comics back in the day were more of the Horror and Western genre....and many movies today, even a lot of non-fantasy ones, are based on comics, so it is likely that every actor has been in a comic based film or a film that is covered in comics... whether it is well know or not.

I respect anyone putting themselves out on the line to help others period. I've seen the ugly of the people who do nothing to help because they're afraid, or its not their job or not their problem. Yes, I've watched someone murdered in a crowded parking lot of 30+ people in the vicinity and hundreds in the area and no one but me attempted to help nor would tell the police anything about what happened, instead some took pictures of the dead body intending on posting it online or selling the pictures, or they complained about being detained, and those who took pictures were pissed when the police took their cameras. The police showed me, I was the first to call 911 even after a couple of minutes talking to and trying to help the guy who was shot before I made the call, and even several months later told me I'm the only person to come forward with information on the crime.

So if this percentage is what is normal in the world we live in, then I'm glad there are people out there breaking the status quo, because being normal sucks.
yeah I think Starphoenix, missed the whole point of the scene where KA stood his ground and fought off 3 muggers while protecting a cop. It's disgusting that we live in a culture where inaction is acceptable. Every time I think humans are civilized I see something like that which reminds me, we're not so far removed from our evolutionary cousins...we just have better toys.
  9. If they were doing a trilogy and planning on a Blackest Night thing they'd introduce Atrocitus and Black hand in this first movie, even if it is just a cameo.

As far as who that big thing is supposed to be... I think it is their version of...

  10. Superman = Punch the villain
Wonder Woman = Distract the villain with cleavage then punch them
Flash = Punch the villain before they realize he's there
Aquaman = Tells a whal to punch the villain
Green Lantern = Concentrates real hard to punch the villain
Martian Manhunter = Punches the villain in the brain
Batman = Tells everyone else to punch the villain in the right place.
  11. I dislike the way batman is portrayed in the movies... not so much with what they show, but with what they don't show... Where he gives crooks a chance to stop and walk away... and even give them a job opportunity and such
  12. The problem, LastJustice, with what you said, is that Bruce does incorporate most of the high tech into his suit and such. Granted he doesn't use the BEST technology at his disposal in his suit, but he uses a lot of it. One of the reasons for this is actually that pushing the limits too far beyond what a private citizen is allowed to do would go against his unspoken agreement with Gordon and Gotham City... and pretty much all the Super community. Further, using that technology would make him sloppy and waste resources unnecessarily. I mean, sure, the speed force suit with Batman in it could probably stop the entire world's major criminal populace in a few nights, but I'm pretty sure it takes an awful lot of resources to keep using AND having that sort of power leaves one planning to get you when your not in the suit and you get comfy with all that power and forget that you aren't in it AND not to mention there is a level of danger about having stuff like that that isn't part of the innate make up of a person. You trust superman with his powers because superman has shown he's not a...ok bad example to a degree, but imagine if, say, Slade somehow knocked Bats out with him in the suit... don't you think he'd strip him of the suit and wear it? that's not something you want to happen and thats why he doesn't use it unless he has to or for a very specific reason.

I never thought of the Doctor's companion is to the Doctor as a Bond girl is to Bond.

As Amy pointed out last season, she likes winding the Doctor up when she flirts with him since he gets all flustered. Heck, she's just flirty, even with herself. If anything Rory is someone the Doctor can throw at Amy when he doesn't want to deal with her, like in the Red Nose Special Time and Space.

What I would love to see is an episode where Rory gets some attention and see Amy get jealous.
Because it never happened, usually. There was a ban on that type of stuff from the execs for a long time that was sometimes lifted in some areas, but it was largely disallowed to a very high degree.
  14. I agree with the decision to a degree... mainly because while Nolan Batman is good... it's not Batman >.>

So far there are 2 volumes. DC trades are generally 6 issues and for some reason refuse to do more than a few volumes so some really good series have not been fully collected...*coughNMLcough*

Brightest day is rapping up pretty quickly it seems and the various GL titles and stories seem to be leading to another major event that "could" change the DCU. I don't like the story that I am predicting which is being clued to within the pages of Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, and Brightest Day... I haven't read Generation Lost, but it looked like a good title, I just didn't want to add it to my list of stuff to read.

Scientology doesn't make more sense that the expanding earth hypothesis. It was a legitimate stance to have at one time... Scientology, however, has never been.

Also... I saw some of the previews for this series and laughed at how bad it looked, not visually, but in actually capturing th character that is Batman.
  17. Only one plot hole in the thing...

When Amy comes out the first time it is a few minutes in the past from future Amy's perspective. And when Amy/Rory comes out it is also, but slightly less time in the past from their perspective... while almost all other times it is instantly and no time in the past...

It would have been better if they timed it so people like me wouldn't notice that the past/future is out of sync, but I guess one could explain it way 2 or 3 different ways so whatever ^.^
  18. One word sums up my thoughts on that costume and the person in it the way it looks in that picture...

    AT&T data caps

The problem, Qui-jon, the bill was paid... the work has not been done.

To use your road analogy... What they did was essentially get paid to replace every road in the country... and instead they just did a few minor patch jobs and then made you pay to allow you to travel faster... and now they are putting up toll booths a every corner.... and they still haven't done what they were paid to do.

If my math is right. That's $0.18 per GB... or an 1800% mark up.

What, do you think that bandwidth is "free"? It's not. They are already paying their fair share, same as the people who are requesting the data. They may not be paying one specific ISP that's ******** about Google and the like "using their pipes for free", but the fact is that they are paying. Same as you or I that aren't paying every ISP, but rather the one specific gatekeeper.
Actually they are getting paid twice for the same usage. They are being paid by the sender AND receiver. It's like going to a little football meet and greet and having a fan pay an advertiser to have a NFL football legend pass them the ball... and then the advertiser charging the Legend the same amount to pass the ball. That makes no sense.

#1. The US government paid to have broadband free for everyone years ago... the phone companies took it and didn't build it

#2. You pay for higher speeds with the intent of the contract of getting more and/or faster. One can sue over these data caps because the intent is not being honored. Theoretically there is already a data cap and one could view that data cap as what they are paying for and not the actual speed.

    12Mbps x 60x60x24x30 = 3,796.875 GB/month should be my bandwidth cap.
949.2187 GB/month should be the cap of the 3Mbps people.

Imagine if an MMO said $15 a month...but only for the first 45 hours and for every 5 hours after that wer'e going to charge you another dollar. Is that fair? No. Well you shouldn't be playing for more than 45 hours anyways... And you're abusing the system if you are....and you're clogging the system for others.

Sorry no. I am paying for 30 days of access. Not 45 hours. It doesn't matter if the average time spent online is 10 hours a month and it doesn't matter that other people can't get on because I'm playing so much. It is the company's fault for not having more servers or having crappy servers. Granted, the system is built around the average user and that the average number of people on at time will be x and the outliers make that not necessarily so, but that is not the outliers fault. They paid for it and as such the company is contractually obligated to provide or return the money. If their facilities can't handle those outliers then they need to upgrade, or stop offering that service.
