Quote:You know I will always help people and switch toons for what is best for the team/league but what has really bugged me the last few weeks is the people that want something for nothing.Over the past few weeks, I have been noticing a general "clueless" air among the people who join in on the various league-size events that we have been doing. People do not seem to have a basic understanding of goals/objectives of an event/trial. And, I think a large part of it is that those of us who do know what to do are not taking the time to explain things before the chaos sets in (and people get mad because some people are not just falling in place).
So, I'd like to see us start doing what we can to make people aware of the general expectations of all these special events/raids/trials. Perhaps we can start scheduling some "tours" to simply allow people an opportunity to learn in a no-pressure setting.
The kinds of things that come to mind to start with would be: Hamidon Raids, Mothership Raids, and all 4 of the new Incarnate trials. We could, of course, expand it to include other aspects of the game (seeing as we are/will get an influx of new/returning players). I do see that a few people have already done (or are doing) casual learning runs and I'd like to see us do more of that.
Keep in mind that only a small minority of the community uses these forums. So, this will be aimed at reaching as many as we can. And, in the process, perhaps we can encourage them to make use of the forums to enhance their knowledge of the game.
The afkers, the people that hide in corners rather than helping in the warehouse on lams or helping in general, people that put me on follow and just use one attack in the next mob because they set that one power on auto-fire. The people that are waiting for the cutsceen in the lam and we only have 3 acids and 4 nades.
How can people be lazy in a video game? -
Yep something is wrong with KB protection, I was getting knocked all over the place last night. I slot a Steadfast KB protection IO in all my toons and I was checking all the time last night to make sure it was still there. lol
-
I checked last night and Arrow has all the stuff for this TF so im gonna switch to Scataloni Gun for this.
-
I heard the FW arc's were really well done!!! Weeeeeeeeee
You did check oro and make sure they are there right?
lol :P -
I'll be there,
Scataloni Arrow arch/elec blaster. -
Just ran it with Kotchie and Turg and a bunch of others and we were doing great on the badge run untill a bomb blew and we missed that one.
It was nice to finally complete this but the common drop at the end was like rubing salt in a wound, hour + trial and you get a common? lol
Risk vr's reward is way out of whack on this one. -

Anyone complete it? It is very long and when we got to the final AV we were confused so much that we couldn't even dent him.
I don't do Keyes because its a lesson in frustration, this one is 10 times worse. I don't think it will see much use unless its toned down at the end. Four or five people had clarion but it didn't last long enough to do much damage even stacking them end on end.
My SG and the regulars that I play with know I love a challenge, the harder the better but this one is just stupid hard. -

Use this post. if no one points you to a better one.
Thanks MR -
Quote:This is actually my husbands old account so im stuck with Duneman lol I don't remember which link in this section I used to fix mine maybe TJ or someone will help me point you in the right direction?First of all thanks alot for the fast replies people! Really appreciated!!
Ok so I said I had updated display adapter/ graphics drivers And it Does say I am up to date. But when I go to device manager, right clik on my graphs card go to properties and then driver, it says Driver Version: 8.850.0.0
Duneman I now ask your help on how I would manually update my driver version to 11.2, if you say you have no problems on tht version..?
Thanks again all!!
I had to go to ATI's website and find the CCC for the 11.2 drivers and then download them to my desktop before removing my other drivers. TJ and many other will advise you to use a driver sweeper to make sure you get everything removed from those nasty yucky drivers that are causing you so much pain but I didn't do that so shhhhhh don't tell them!!! lol
After you remove the old drivers reboot the machine and install the new CCC ( Catalyst control center ) that has your new 11.2 drivers in it. Reboot again and you should be good to go now if im missing something im sure someone will chime in lol
One more thing, the 11.2 may not work better than your current drivers, 11.3 or 11.4 or 11.5 might work best for you so you may become an expert on driver installs before you are done hehe
It may seem like alot of work but its really easy. Good Luck. -
What video driver version are you running? My windows 7 machine updated my drivers to the newest version without me knowing and I had all kinds of freezing problems untill I went back down to the 11.2 drivers.
The newest ATI drivers are not playing well with COH's. -
Quote:Im having the same issues, I can't even get into the forums unless I got to paragon wiki and click on official forums.I didn't see anywhere more appropriate to put this, so if it's in the wrong place I am sorry.
The main site is loading very oddly for me. The news and such is usually centered, but is now all bunched up on the left side of the screen, and the left side menu (News, Community, etc) isn't working. When I click an option the arrow shifts to point down like normal, but the sub menu never appears. (The Going Rogue option works, but then it's a link to another page no a sub menu.)
It was working fine last night. Any ideas on a setting or such that might have gotten changed in my browser to cause this? Or anyone else seeing the same thing? I've reloaded the site a couple of times, restarted the browser, and restarted the computer; none of those has helped. (I'm using IE 9 by the way.)
Thanks for any help! -
I will bring my blaster
Scataloni Arrow
I can switch to something else depending on team makeup though. -
Quote:Posted by Clockwork 01 in another thread...For the last few weeks this game has done almost everything possible to make me not want to play.
First problem: I crash on loading redside. ALL THE TIME. It actually started about two months ago, when I would try to load a zone, the bar would get to half and I would crash to the log-in screen. Usually it happened with St. Martial or Grandville. I updated my graphics drivers and though it was fixed, but a few weeks ago there was a patch and now it's worse. I've just tried about five times to load up a Blaster parked in Port Oakes. It hasn't happened blueside....yet.
Second problem: Network lag. Started a few weeks ago. Comes and goes. Buff icons come and go, powers aren't animating, enemies are jumping around, and my netgraph is a spiky red mess.
Third problem: The launcher. I can play fine all day, exit the game normally, no crashing, and the next time I try to launch it tells me I need to repair files. The beta client is even worse, I need up update and repair and update and repair over and over again before I can get in. I've also been intermittently unable to connect to the updater. Today it is especially horrible.
Fourth problem: The forums. I often get a "server not found" message when trying to access them, and today they are loading like molasses.
It looks like the network lag isn't just me, and someone forgot to feed the hamsters. But I haven't seen much about the crashes on loading and the launcher issues. What could be causing them?
The reason it can't be fully tested on beta is because populating the store with the millions of purchases previously made by our users takes several days and effectively renders the environment unusable while it is being updated. Because of this, some environments (like our beta environment) were not the places we wanted to spend this time, it was more prudent to utilize our time with those environments testing other features. The Live environment has been tested internally for this functionality specifically
So they can't populate millions of purchases previously made by the users on the beta server so they throw it on the live environment to test internally, what does that mean?
Wouldn't that cause major lag, rubberbanding, buff trays to act all screwy, huge red spikes on the netgraph, disconnects, powers not in sync with whats going on in game?
Thought I would throw that out there. -

Im in
Scataloni Volt - EM/INV Scrapper -
Im a SS/FA Brute so no I can't tank lol

You can auto add me since I have done none of these red side. I have done the STF so many times I have lost count but have never done a LRSF lol So I can't wait untill you get to those higher lvl ones.
However the closer we get to winter hubby and I will be out playing in the desert alot with our sand family and Dune addiction but wednesdays are usually not a problem.
YAY! I get to do red side stuff!!Yes this is my Husbands old account so im stuck with the name Duneman! lol

Quote:I was running the /netgraph 1 yesterday and noticed that every time I zoned or entered and exited a mission I would get atlest a 1 inch wide red spike in the netgraph with a sometimes boot to the login screen.Exact same problem here. At first I was sure it was something on my end, maybe something eating up memory or bandwidth, but I couldn't pinpoint a culprit. At least now I know I'm not the only one and I can stop hunting.
The most frustrating bit for me is that if I die while soloing, clicking the Go to Hospital button is like Russian roulette. Could go to hospital, could go to login screen and have to start the mission over.
Also - and I suspect this is related somehow - it seems this bug happens to me 100% of the time when trying to join a Lambda. I have been completely unable to get past the loading screen for the Lambda trial, and every time I get back in and try to rejoin using the LFG tool it just crashes me to login again.
My SG yesterday was wondering wth was up with me crashing, they were saying that if im crashing coh's has some serious problems lol
I agree -
Quote:I keep saying in all my posts the problems I have all started with the launcher update on monday and I know im sounding like a broken record but your work to trace what the launcher was doing actually proves my point.Okay, bear with me a moment here; the tl;dr is I am reasonably sure that a login server was changed a couple of nights ago.
I knew the servers were up, I knew I had friends logged in. I knew that there were a small number of people having issues but most could get in. So I thought I'd double check some things and make sure it wasn't an ISP issue or something like that. As it was on two machines, I was certain that it wasn't a client issue on my end. I was reasonably sure that as I could access the Beta server it wasn't going to turn out to be an ISP issue.
On both machines, using the NCSoft Laucher, the CoH client was FULLY up to date and I was able to verify/repair the install on each machine no problem.
So I did some traces and watched the client as it tried to login. There was no response from the login server. So I grabbed the details, that I could, of the login server and found that I wasn't able to ping it at all. I jumped into my ISP's IRC chat and asked them to check. They had no joy at all but were reasonably confidently able to confirm that there were no issues on their end and they suspected a server issues.
As Support here had not answered yet, I figured I'd do a reinstall because what could it hurt? I didn't want to do a full download again but I wanted to make sure that the networking/connection files were reinstalled. So I copied the coh.exe and only that file to a new dir. I pointed the Launcher at it and asked it to repair. It started the whole patch process. I *cancelled* this process once it had built the directory structure and copied across the pigg directory meaning that the reinstall had to download less then 700 mb.
This went fine and I was really quite surprised that the new install logged in straight away. So I watched the login process again and this install was pointing/connection to a DIFFERENT login server.
So I have two installs on one machine - launcher says both are fully up to date and good to go... however each install is pointing at a different login server and only one works. I have the other machine next to me with the install that worked fine until Thursday and that won't connect at all. That's pointing at the non working sever.
Support have, conveniently, ignored any of the actual information I've given them and have done nothing but insist I run the Game Advisor. I have just done that - there's no info in there that I can see relating to the install/login server that the local CoH uses but we'll see what they come back with. When my ISP cannot ping the login server my client is pointed to, I can totally understand why my firewall or AV details are important
My tentative conclusion at the moment is that I, and perhaps others, do not have a fully up to date CoH client despite what the NCSoft Launcher says. I suspect strongly there was a server change during the hardware upgrade the other night and for whatever reason my installs did not receive the prep work for this in the earlier patches. I shall update if Support erm.. support.
Playing the game it feels like it is NOT in sync with the server and its causing crashing, rubberbanding and the huge red spikes on the netgraph.
I would like to thank you for the trouble you went through to find this problem, sadly though its easier for tech support and the dev's to blame the players computers and to insist everything is beautiful on there end.
Thank you so much
