There is an option. Don't enter the zone. There is nothing in the zone that REQUIRES you to go there. You don't need the badges to keep playing the game. You don't need the nukes to keep playing the game.
You ask for an option to turn off PvP in a zone that was designed for that specific purpose. When that happens, I expect an option to turn on PvP in Steel Canyon or IP.

The only time I ever actually beat ya was when I was paired with a certain Ice/Emp troller and you got paired with someone else with a lackluster powerset. Even back then, Blaster+Emp = killer.

We had some good matches though and they were always a blast.

I think I saw screenshots from that match but I know I also saw a match with Alloric against the Bots on the Steel Canyon map.
I remember being impressed that a couple Energy primary blasters were doing so well against an Ice/EM and his partner.

Like I said before, I used to spend alot of time on test server watching matches.

To me Kyle's best match was Kyle (solo) vs. the Airmen SG.

Then Impy and I fought the Bots. Christ, what a match. This was before any of you even thought of builds beyond 1v1. There were still people practicing against AVs (KillerShadow, I'm looking at you). My Energy/Ice/Fly [censored] flew as fast as I knew how to, yet I couldn't make up for the disparity between SS and Fly. The Bots won the 2v2 Blaster match and, honestly, I've never been so proud to have lost a match since. We were damn well out-played.

Welcome back Positronbot!

This thread is really bringing back the memories.

My first match was the day I4 hit test and was against Positronbot. He kicked my butt someting like 11-4.
After that I was hooked and would log on to duel other blasters mostly. SnipeFu, Positronbot, Polarbot, Citizen Zero and sooo many others.

I remember fighting Foo En/EM vs En/EM on Liberty. There used to be a time I could keep up with the guy. (It didn't last long)

I remember fighting Duff.Chick and losing by 1 kill at the last couple seconds. That stands out as one of the best matches I ever played.

I liked that many players didn't realize Power Boost would affect To-Hit buffs like Aim.

Back then Tankers were all but unkillable. The only thing I found that worked was throwing Char then joust them with Brawl. If I got lucky I'd get the Toggle drop, if not...well, it was over with quick either way.

In the second attempt at a Test League (Arena Battle League if I recall correctly) I tried a No Empath, No Blaster team. It was successful then but I highly doubt it would make it in the heavy traffic that is Test PvP today.

I was never that good a PvPer but I'd log into test and spend hours watching matches.

How about the times when Tanks and Scrappers were the kings of the Arena.
The introduction of Toggle Droppers on Blasters and the massive rebalancing of pvp that occured afterwards.

The first few attempts at Test Leagues complete with Drafts.

The first SGs that met on test to battle.

Tribute, HVND, Sitting Ducks, Freaks of Legend, etc...

The Server vs. Server Battles (Lag-Fest).

Lots of good stories about the "Good Ole' Days".
