So, I'm here, playing the Dark/Earth dominator. And Smash is definitely the word of the day. But I'm curious, do they normally level rather slow. Or is there a way to speed this up. The nice cone fear is great. But if I up the difficulty to x2 or higher, by the time I kill 2 mobs the rest are out of the fear and proceed to have at me minus the lube. Granted I'm only level 13 right now. This may get better with time, I hope. But at the moment it's rather frustrating having to cruise around at basic starter difficulty. Tips are welcome, well, more like needed instead of welcome. Cant' wait until umbral beast so I can send him in to die for me while I can atleast smash some more.

Got one in Scrapper, got on in Stalker, not entirely sure what to think of them quite yet and it seems my issue is my combo finisher abilities don't crit at their full potential. So my first question is whether or not the damage bonuses on combo points for combo finishers increases with fury. Second, would gloom turn into part of the best single target series of attacks, don't have an issue if it is. Just want to be prepared to throw it in there when the time comes. Lastly, how does it perform on a brute over all. Plan on pairing it with willpower, because I'm lazy as hell and don't feel like clicking crap. So with that pairing, STJ/WP how will it turn out. Not looking for OMFG TOP END DAMAGE KILL EVERYTHING PWN MOAR! Just looking for entertainment, and some pretty decent potential at the end.

Thematically, I'm enjoying the set. I colored the dark to make it look like sand and I actually like it. Was originally going to be Dark/Dark but the damage seemed really low, so I went with /Earth. My big question is that will Earth Assault make up for the lack of damage of the Dark control set, and how will this end up performing in end game, Incarnate Trials, TF's, being a cocky Dom and trying to solo crap that I have no business soloing. Thoughts and Input very much needed.
-
Well, so far all I've managed to run Incarnate Trials with is my ill/cold troller. and after about the 20 runs I've done. I think I've pulled 1 very rare, 5 uncommons and the rest rares. Which is starting to make me think it's not based on contribution of team buffing because I generally refuse to shield people in a team that size. At most the only buff they get from me is Heat Loss, arctic fog and my AoE grant invis from the ill set.
-
You have any tips to make it through that rough patch until I pick up the second upgrade?
-
Ok, just curious about Necro/Dark is when does it start to bloom, I mean like... BLOOOOM! I've heard it's with Lich and Fluffy, but damn it does feel a little painful trying to get to that point.
-
Just got one question I'm curious about, does the Reactive Interface bonuses go towards your pet attacks as well as your own? So my pets would be able to apply the debuffs as well as myself?
-
How is that for solo leveling? I don't mean to derail the thread in any way, but I'm in the same boat. I seem to try and make AoE monsters so I'm thinking this right here could sell me on a single target beast.

So, my friend an I are bored as hell last night and get into an interesting discussion about the 2 secondaries when paired with a fire primary, and which would actually be able to clear mass groups and survive still pretty decently. My money was on the Fire/Fire thanks to the sheer amount of AOE's it had at it's disposal to just rip through mobs, thus the theory of you kill them before they kill you tactic. While he was more into the Drain Psyche to up your regen so you'd be able to live through the fight with ease.
So now here I am, rolling up a blaster and doubting my original theory on Fire/Fire being absolutely almighty over Fire/MM. So now the question is this, Are there more advantages/disadvantages to these that I'm not taking into account? Because from a fun standpoint, I don't care which one, I have my fire primary, thus I am happy. But I would like to have a secondary that will best complement my primary.
Not even gonna bother bringing up the epic/patron power pools. I don't even want to think of the options that are in those at the moment. -
Ok, and question number two! If I pick Mace Mastery does it make me pull out a different Mace to shoot the energy crap? Or could I seriously shoot it out of a baseball bat or something?
-
Alright, just a forewarning. When it comes to me building a tanker for Willpower I honestly don't have a damn clue with what I'm doing besides trying to get a good chunk of regen and high health. On that note, this is what I came up with after debating between making a Stone/Stone or a WP/WM tanker.

I'm liking him alot so far and he's only level 6. Named him Memphis Flash and styled him to look abit like Elvis. Currently taking him through Praetoria and really loving the hell out of it.
-
So, I've started a set of elementals, so far I have 2 of them in brute, then it'll either be a ice/cold corruptor or a ice/ice tanker, but for the question I was going for now, is how well does Elec/Elec/Mu run for a Brute? It looks like it has some pretty nice resists and also has a self heal. (Dunno when the hell elec armor got a self heal, but wow am I happy for it.) Just curious if it'd be decent for teaming and yet still be able to solo as well.
-
Just started this as well myself. So far it's pretty fun, figured cold would work alright while solo and help with some really nice debuffs when I do happen to group up. So far with it though, all I can say is how much I love infridgidate in the beginning, greatly helps keeping big mobs away from me while I pick off the minions.

Curious if anyone has built one and got it to atleast 32 for granite armor, if so I just have one big question about it. Does the granite armor cause clipping issues with the kinetic melee animations. I've been glaring at my character creation screen for awhile now debating on whether or not I want to put these 2 together. But I don't want to end up at level 32 and suddenly look retarded with my arms bashing into eachother every time I decide to build up abit of energy before I face palm someone.
-
This might not actually be a question of great importance or anything. But why does the thought of some giant mass of rock in Granite Armor waving his arms around for the animations of Kinetic Melee just sound hilarious. And if anyone has actually seen this. Please tell me if there is just stupid amounts of clipping issues with your hands smacking into each other with all the waving.

Ok, New Issues. I can't fit fireball into my build on Mids. Am I being too concerned about trying to get Stamina and Quick Recovery? Or is Quick Recovery enough to keep Spines running a decent chain for farming?
-
Wow, ok, so lately I seem to just be flooding these forums with questions. Now, due to my extremely short attention span I have to make a new character everyday it seems. I did finally find one that caught my attention and I'm going with it. Downside is that it's in a leveling pact with someone and they never seem to log on so I need something else to have some fun with on the days my partner isn't around. I've tried doing a few searches on Spines/WP and instead all I find is tons of stuff on Spines/Invuln, so I sat, and debated with myself over the pro's and cons of either one, until I decided that I didn't want to have to worry about end problems to much and that I wanted a good AOE in my epic/patron pool, (I like having both Quick Recovery and Stamina). So the one question I can't answer for myself is do I go BLAZE! for fireball, or is there a good AOE in one of the patron pools that I should stop and take a serious look at. Yes, this char is going through praetoria, yes it's going straight to villain side when I get out of there so running a patron mission isn't too big of a deal.
Oh, one other thing. Does Spines/WP really just chainsaw through minions and lt's as fast as everyone says it does? Cause I don't know why but on my server I have never seen one in action. -
Well thanks for that, that was just about one of the answers I was looking for, as my biggest worries are how it plays straight outta the box. With maybe even DO's as a minimum (Damn that grind from 10-20 is the absolute worst no matter what I play it seems.) I know with SO's Willpower is a force to be reckoned with. I also know that until you get quick recovery, running 3 toggles and a 3 attack chain gets very straining on the endurance which was about the only reason why I was seriously considering Regen was for gaining Quick Recovery at that early of a level. (With 3 toggles I meant the Mind over body, Indomitable Will and RttC) But now that I know that the -dam is going on all the time it does seem like a pretty good idea with the type of resists going for it.
Next question is that since I've never IO'd out a Willpower character (Poor 50 tanker, sitting there in SO's still) Do you aim for defense, resists, or a ton of health and regen? (Somehow I swear I've asked these questions before in other posts I have strewn about on the Scrapper forums. I need to start writing down the answers I get so I just have a giant reference book to all of it.) -
Well, back to my original asking. Given what I have said in my OP, would regen be best for me from what opinions you can put together of what I had stated.
-
Quote:Uh? Cause like I said in my original post. Scrappers don't get SS!Did I ever mention Soul Drain? No? .. Okay then? lets begin again...
PS on paper, seems like a VERY poor power, thats what Im saying.. and hands down, I am comparing the entire sets with each other, and I see no reason to pick KM over SS as SS still have Rage, and basically the same powers as KM just named differently (To be rough when saying so)
Next time you reply to someone, be sure to read the post -
My only question I would have no is. Is the -dmg on KM abilities just going all the time? Or only when you have power siphon active?
-
So, for some reason, I got a serious hard on for Kinetic Melee, to me it looks like a less powerful more graceful version of SS, but scrappers get it. So I'm in love with it just because scrappers have access to it. So far I have 3 scrappers made with it and one more on the way with it. And I really need to narrow down my playing field to focus on just one of em. They are all at about level 14 and for secondaries I have Regen, Willpower, and Fire with thoughts of making shield as well. I think all of them are just incredibly fun to play but honestly. Leveling 4 scrappers all with the same primary can probably get pretty damn ridiculous. So, I'm just throwing this out to everyone as to ask what would, honestly make a more reasonable build. I think out of all of them Fire is the one that I wouldn't be used to the most just because I'm not used to popping a heal or popping an AOE for end gain, with regen following up after that was having the least amount of experience with. Willpower and Shield I have on something at 50 (they are both tankers though so they are abit more buffed up.) Just someone please help me with this dilemma I'm having of all this.
-
Honestly, I don't care what I'm trying to do with the thing. Love the hell out of both sets of animations and I have idea's for either one, and no matter what I pick, it'll be /Willpower. So I'm just stuck with trying to decide between the two, and dammit I do not have a quarter next to me to flip.
