    My ED build

    Ok I've finally bit the bullet and sorted out a respec for my main character Triage, I'd like everyones opinion on his new look.

    I'm currently level 43 and I believe that my two most potent wepons are my RA and its turn around time, therefore both RA and Hasten are six slotted to squeeze every possible second from the recharge time, the rest of the build is fairly straight forward my main buffs are all six slotted as are my heals hopefuly the 4 attacks I have should cycle faster and be more effective in combat now.

    Any thoughts?

    Good Duos?

    So Masterminds make a good lynchpin for most AT's but a Corruptor with firepower and buffs seems to mesh particularly well, that's very useful to know as I was thinking of going back into my Fire / Kinetic from beta or maybe Fire / Thermal.

    Good Duos?

    I'm about to create a matched pair of characters for CoV and would like some advice, my partener in crime is going to make a Mastermind, and as I have very little experince teaming with them I was wondering what AT is a good match to pair up with one.

    Are the pets for Mastermminds good damage dealers? If so would a Corruptor or Dominator be useful or are the pets more useful as tanks and a damage dealer such as a Brute be a better pair?
  5. Tanks in general, and fire tanks in particular have had defence and offence reduced considerably since I4, Burn now has a greatly increased recharge time, fear effect and reduced damage, and the enhancment diversification has nerfed our defences to 3/4 of there previous levels.

    its not perfect the defence is not maxed one more slot in tough and Fire shield gives me just 1% more resistance and six slotted in each gives me just 1% more so the difference from three to six slots in S/L resistance is 2% not in my opinion worth it. This means that I'm relying on 'tertiary' powers more for defence such as healing flames.

    My Offence feels better I hit more and have a cleaner kill rate but it now takes me 2 or 3 hits with my AoE's to finish off a mob so shoehorning in 3 slotted hasten to increase the recharge rate may help or dropping in Burn may help but only as an end cycle blast.

    All in all I can still tank I still fell useful, but operating solo I still feeel like a tougher tanker and I desperatly need team support in larger groups.

Ok i'm in the throws of testing and re-speccing my Emp / Psy and I have noticed that not only do I spend more time healing at a lower rate but the tools that gave me control over a fight namely my buffs (RA, AB etc) have been seriously affected by ED I can no longer guarantee them being availiable when required leaving my team dangerously vulnerable.

    To make up some of this slack I have been looking at defender secondaries notably Psy to give some measure of control back to my toon, whereas nearly all the other secondaries have a focus to slot upon debuff for Rad, Cone holds and acc defuff for dark, psy seems to have no real focus.

    My old build had TK Blast, Psy Scream and Will Dom all 6 slotted, my damage output has always bee sub par hurting my ability to solo but now with ED my DPS is pathetic, I wouldn't actually mind if I could gain some measure of control with the secondary effects of my powers but this doesn't seem viable. I am putting serious consideration into the leadership pool and others at the expense of my attacks as they seem so ineffective.

    Does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonable method of control availaible for Psy or any other secondary Def set that could be used under ED?

    I also have seen a reduction in End usage even in the most intense fight, this however does not apply soloing something as simple as street sweeping greys for badges will see your end drop fast and I have found that I needed 3 slotted stamina and either RA or CP, I suppose that I could manage without Stamina but 41 levels is a long time to wait for CP to fill the gap.

    This idea does open up up some ideas for builds however as 3 power slots and 8 slots is a lot to play with.

    Fire/Empath

    I have a couple of low Fire / Kin controllers and I have to admit that they level fast to level 8 they after level 8 they rocket, the combinaton of Fire Cages and Hot Feet means that i can lock a mob then just watch them melt the occasional use of a heal and i'm laughing as the mobs die around me, this only becomes safer at level 12 when Flashfires is available.

    My advice is to 4 slot Fire cages 2 Acc 2 End red as the damage it gives is sub par and you want to be able to spam and hit with it regularly and 5 slot Hot feet 3 Dam 2 End Red, then slot up your heals appropriatly with the remaining.

    CC AT's will love you for all of the AoE goodness heals, holds, and damage that you can give. Slightly off topic I once raced a fire tank in Perez street sweeping using this method and beat him throughly and with far less damage.
