  1. Well, after playing my Ninja/Time extensively, I think I would agree with most of this.

Increase their inherent defenses. Change the way they use their attacks.

I think Smoke Flash should either be made into a power that affects all of them in AoE fashion. Or, add Build Up as part of Smoke Flash. The Build Up effect would make 10 seconds of critical hits far more damaging and perhaps give Ninjas the distinction of being able to take out Bosses in fewer hits.
  2. I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree.

To me, the Damage and Regeneration buff on 2-3 of my pets from Temporal Selection makes them all more effective and useful to me. In fact, I tend to try and maintain buffs on all my pets so they are alive longer and doing more damage.

When I am on my Defenders or Controllers, I will make far more effort to buff the rest of my team. When I am on my Mastermind, I focus a little more on my pets knowing that without them I don't have much to offer. That doesn't mean that I won't throw Temp Selection on someone when the situation suggests that to be the better choice. It just isn't my priority to buff my teammates with it as much.

I make the team more effective by my pets being more effective. Improving my pets' damage, regeneration, and boosting the effects of my heals/buffs on them makes the team more effective because I am able to contribute in *all* of the areas that Masterminds can do.

Honestly, if the team wants buffs from me, I have Temporal Mending, Farsight, and Chronoshift not to mention my incarnate abilities. All of those are up 24/7 especially during the times that they matter.

Now, if I am the only form of buffs on the team, I might only perma Temporal Selection on (say) my T3 pet and someone on the team. But, I look at my job as to bridge the gap of Tanking, DPS, and Support. I can do that better by dropping Temporal Selection on my pets (so they are needing even less attention). I spam what stuff I got and then go about raining pure destruction on the mobs.

If consistent, focused buffs are wanted, then recruit a Defender, Corruptor, or Controller. Please don't ask me to pigeon hole my Mastermind into only a support role.
  4. Looked at the numbers and the damage boost from Temporal Selection is 18% which is actually less than a small red inspiration. But, combined with the Mastermind inherent and Assault, it does add up to a nice boost.

The point is that Temporal Selection is valuable to your pets. You should be able to keep it on at least 2 pets with an average amount of recharge buffs. If anything, I would try to keep it up on your Tier 2 or 3 pets.

I am going to have to take an exception to this statement. There are mechanics of Mastermind pets that make them the priority.

On my Mastermind, I have enough recharge to permanently keep Temporal Selection on 3 of my henchmen. That's 3 of them which have a permanent damage boost a little better than a small red inspiration. That's 3 of them having improved Regeneration/Healing which improves the effectiveness of Bodyguard.

And, thanks to special coding in our favor, Mastermind pets are pretty valuable on those incarnate trials since they are generally unaffected by all of those damage auras/patches.
  6. I am not sure about the haters. They exist in every game and tend to be more vocal than the majority who are not haters.

I enjoy my Staff/Willpower brute thoroughly. No, Staff is not a powerhouse set. But, the attack chain can put out a lot of damage and the quickness of the attack chain helps me maintain Fury very easily.
  7. Some great news! @Aceaer has volunteered to be our red-side Cathedral of Pain representative!

We will be working it into our schedule at a time slot that is beneficial to all. Stay tuned for that update!
  8. Hello to all my fellows and ladies!

As many of you may (or may not know), Freedom Hami Raids has become the premier global channel on the Freedom server for hosting a regular routine of events each weekend.

What all do we host? Well, for those who haven't followed all the latest developments, we now host the following events on a regular (or semi-regular) basis:

    - Hamidon Raids (duh!)
    - Cathedral of Pain
    - Mother Ship Raids

And we even host the occasional adventure into the P-V-P zones so that people can acquire those much-sought-after zone-related badges from those areas.

Currently, most of our events are Hero side. But, we have been adding in Villain side events.

As a refresher, our schedule is = Fridays @ 8 PM Eastern -- Saturdays @ 8 PM Eastern - Sundays @ 6 PM Eastern. Some additional events may be scheduled on a spontaneous nature as well.

    -----------

Now, with all that said... WE NEED MORE WILLING *HOSTS* AND OTHERS WILLING TO FILL LEADERSHIP POSITIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!

As the current primary leader (I guess?) of the top raiding-related channel for Freedom, I view it as that channel's role to help facilitate raid related events for the public's enjoyment. As such, it is my goal to branch out and support whatever events people want to do on a schedule that encourages the most people to attend.

Now, we have had great success and turn-out for the events we host. In fact, I believe we get enough interest in our events that we could probably run multiple events in the same day and it still wouldn't be enough!

With this success comes increased interest in seeing more events. I have had particular interest coming from our European friends and others living abroad to have events at times friendly to them. And, there is also more interest in having regular Villain side events. Basically, more events are wanted!!

And, to get those other events going, I need more leaders to assist me. People love our events for the fun of those large-group events. But, I cannot be available to host it all.

I am seeking a handful of people who would be willing to learn how to be Event Hosts. You will need to learn how to host the events we currently run. Then, with your help, we can have those additional events people have been asking for.

Likewise, if you already run other regular events (namely, CoP, Hami, MSR), it would be great if we could bring you under our umbrella. The goal would be to support your event(s). And, we would work together to establish your event at a regular time slot.

So, if you are willing and able to become part of the overall leadership that hosts events, please contact me (@Dr Gemini).

    Thanks!
  9. I have had it slotted in my Shadow Field. It "procs" enough to turn that power into a power that does considerable damage.
  10. I just wanted to post here and emphasize something...

For several months now, we have had established a schedule of events for Saturdays. And, we really need to stick to it.

    Saturday's Schedule -

    - Cathedral of Pain @ 8 PM Eastern
    - Hamidon Raid @ 9 PM Eastern
    - Mothership Raid immediately after the Hamidon Raid

All I ask is that people respect the schedule we have established out of respect for the leaders who organize the events and for the people who take time to be there.
  11. I appreciate the suggestions. But, the main point of inquiring into what has been happening is to fix the problem (or devise a regular alternate solution).

The suggestions you are making fail to address the problem of (currently) having to make extra preparations when, in the past, that preparation has been done as part of the raid as a whole.

The way we have conducted the monster farming [essentially] at the start of the raid also serves to teach newcomers that it is something that is a crucial part of the raid. We need some EoE and we need to spawn Hamidon so we kill (x-number of) monsters to do that.
  12. The problem with this happening is that it forces the regular raiders to go out of their way to acquire what we need for every Hamidon Raid.

EoE is an item which is considered "necessary" by those Tankers (or Brutes) who show up to be part of the aggro management. Therefore, as part of the raid process, we have been able to kill enough monsters to "farm" the few inspirations we need before Hamidon spawns.

Now, I think that we (the regular Hami leaders and raiders) have made a good attempt to reach out to anyone else attempting raids. If, as I have heard, there are others who wish to host raids, we seek to reach out and include them in our "group" so that they might have a chance to learn from us so that their raids can be a success. In fact, I have encouraged anyone else willing to host to coordinate with the Freedom Hami Raids channel. That way other raid hosts can be well-supported by people who know what to do and can help them.

As far as reaching out goes, there has been no response. As far as we are concerned, whoever is causing Hamidon to spawn prior to our normal raid times is creating more problems than we need. We already have enough to worry about with teaching new people how to raid. I would prefer it if others did not add a pre-spawned Hamidon to our list of "worries." It forces us to have to go out of our way to be prepared when EoE could be easily gotten by spending a few minutes killing monsters prior to the raid.

Now, if Hamidon is spawning due to something beyond anyone's control (a bug or monsters wandering over to the drones), that also needs to be fixed. Again, it causes us to have to allocate extra time farming EoE.

However, if the administration genuinely believes there is no real fix for the problem, I'd like to know that too. If setting aside some extra "farming" in the short term is the only solution, then we will adapt and do that.

It is not acceptable for us to be asking people to spend 2 million (each) on something which is only needed for a short time and can be gotten FREE with a little effort.

Defenders (and others with support powers) are the kind of characters that bring what you might consider "force multipliers" to any setting that others don't have.

This "force multiplier" is brought to bear when that Defender uses their buffs, heals, etc to increase the efficiency of everyone else on the team.

As a result, everyone on the team is doing higher DPS than they could otherwise achieve on their own. You can have the highest DPS Scrapper or Blaster on the team. But, they can never achieve the level of performance that buffs, debuffs, etc from others can. IE, a Blaster with Fortitude, Adrenalin Boost, or any other kind of similar buff is much more effective than one without.

I believe that the Incarnate powers are probably being created with that concept in mind. Yes, Destiny and Interface are great on their own. But, when you have a full league/team of them, the force multipliers add a lot. And, I am of the opinion that while incarnate powers are great, they can never truly replace legitimate buffs, etc that a player can normally bring. Why do you think people still want Defenders, Controllers, Corruptors, and Masterminds for teams? In short, because they bring support abilities that can never really be replaced.

  15. The raid was a bit rough to start with but all went well in the end.
  16. Ok. Here is my Dark/Dark's build as it is currently. This is what I have solo'd a pylon with. Pylon time is probably a bit on the slow side (probably takes within 5 minutes?). I do not need to use Lore to solo a pylon either.

The build is certainly not perfect but it works!

The proc does both. It will trigger when first cast and then each time it "triggers" on any mobs still in the patch it will check the proc again. Really surprised me how much damage it actually does.

I will pull a build together and post it.

Based on my discussions with Blast Lord, I do believe that things will go well.

I did extend the welcome mat to anyone who wishes to be a part of our events. And, also to anyone who wishes to contribute as part of the leadership that helps organize and run the events.

I have been made aware of people's skepticism. I just ask people to bear with me that things will be OK!
  19. Just an FYI this is the time slot when FHR normally hosts raids. But, I will be glad for the night off to let someone else host for once!

I will post it in the MOTD.

For future reference, around 8 Eastern is when "Freedom Hami Raids" hosts Cathedral of Pain/Hami/MSR.

If you would like, we can coordinate to let you guys host the saturday Hamidon Raids on a regular basis which would certainly help take some of the "load" off of me and the other few leaders we have.

Let me know. Would be happy to help make it a success!
  20. Soul Absorption (IMHO) follows in the footprints of what Fulcrum Shift does. The more mobs you can hit with it the better it does. You don't need more than 1-2 Recharge in it. You might slot it more for End Mod than anything because the Regen is a little redundant with your own healing but the Regen can actually be pretty good at mending whatever wounds you took from the alphas.

I would agree with the sentiment that it is one of those powers good enough to not need much slotting.
  21. Hello everyone! Hope you are having a great day!

As many people are becoming aware, the Freedom Hami Raids (FHR) global channel is responsible for hosting several "raid" related events on the weekends. Once again, I'd like to stress that the channel is public to join. We welcome anyone who would like to be a part of a great group of players who enjoy the "raiding" that the game offers.

First, I want to update everyone on what events we host and when they happen so that everyone can plan for them.

FHR is now the host of a variety of events! We host Hamidon Raids (of course). We also host Cathedral of Pain trials and Mothership Raids. Additionally, we do also host some occassional PvP zone raids. Events are conducted mostly for hero side, but we do have some events for villains as well. Check our schedule for details.

    -Fridays @ 8 PM Eastern-
Hero side Cathedral of Pain runs hosted by the Prophets of Supremacy SG.

    -Fridays @ 9 PM Eastern-
Hamidon Raid and Mothership Raid. The Hamidon raid is held in "The Hive" on hero side. 45+ is the level range. We host a Mothership Raid after the Hamidon Raid. The total event happens over the course of 2 hours.

-Saturdays beginning @ 8 PM Eastern-
CoP/Hami/MSR triple event. The CoP is hosted by Damage Inc for blue side. Meet in Founders Falls by the SG Portal if you want to participate in the Cathedral runs. After the CoP runs we go raid Hami and then the MSR.

    -Sundays @ 6 PM Eastern-
On Sundays, we turn over the day's events to be hosted by @STAR INCARNATE and the Starkindred Alliance. Events for Sundays may include PvP Raids, Costume Contests, Cathedral runs, Hamidon Raids, Mothership Raids. Events for this day tend to be a mix of both hero and villain sides. The exact events are always "To Be Announced" so best just to be prepared for anything!

    -------------------------------
Well, as you can see, the weekends are full of events for people to participate in. We do get a lot of good turnout for all of our events. So, if you want to get a "spot" on the league, you'd best plan to be there early!

Also, please note that most of our events are not always announced beyond FHR and a few other select channels. So, if you want to make sure you know about the events, feel free to join "Freedom Hami Raids". Again, it's public and free to join as long as the channel has space!

Thank you for indulging me in this update! Please feel free to spread the word to all of your friends so they may join us as well.

It should be noted that Cathedral of Pain only accepts 24 people. Thus, we usually do two (2) runs so everyone has a chance to get in with at least one character. For all intents and purposes, CoP should be considered a level 50 event.

Granted, I do have pretty high, perhaps unfair, standards..given that a lot of people play for fun. Maybe it comes about from experience pvp (pre i13 pvp moreso) and seeing how ONE well played emp can just make a few good players utterly awesome.

In about 4 years of play, I have seen..less than 5, emps who I would call great. Less than FIVE. And 4 of them came from pvp. I think that says alot. Of course, the way I judge a great emp (healer) wont be the same as others do, or what they are after.

Regardless of how an emp is players..the Primary IS healing and buffs..so when I see one happily spamming attacks, while their entire team goes unforted or uncm'd..And to those who say CM is a reaction buff, to be given AFTER a person is mezzed..*stab*

To illustrate my point, their is a certain emp on Freedom (yes I know, freedumb) who sits in PD bragging about having ALL 84 T4 incarnate powers..and then rocks the aura all mission. In fact, on a recent DD trial, just as we go to the final AV..'it' said..afk, lunch and proceeded to go afk, auto healing. Now, the BEST thing about it was..you actually could spot spot a difference in that persons playstyle.

I dont think healers and emps are dead..just 99% brain dead.
The way I see it. If you are a truly good ____ (enter AT here), there is no need to advertise yourself. You will literally have no trouble at all with having people ask you to grab your character when they need it.

And, I think I've come across this person you describe as well. Seems to be thought of very highly in certain crowds but I do think that the majority are starting to realize that that Emp's only real incarnate power is T4 BS.
  24. I actually think SBEs are good for this game. It takes away the power of the "black market" by giving people a way to legally buy things. And, it puts more of that money in the pocket of the game developers rather than going to a bunch of people who are really doing it illegally.

Also, keep in mind that the store-bought enhancements are "attuned" and are account bound. It isn't like you can go spend your points on them and turn around and make a profit on them.
  25. True story. I have met a variety of people in the game and I can tell you hands down that the people who are always bragging about how "expensive" their character is are the worst people to play with. Oddly enough, with all of the "prices" being so low lately, I bet those people who spent 30 Billion on enhancements are crying because everyone else can now afford to buy those formerly expensive things.

I find it sad that the whole concept of "experience" needs to even be stressed. But, I suppose it comes with the territory of having a long-running game like this. New people want to be able to come right in and rumble with the big dogs. Then they find out the hard way they need to go back to school.
