level 40 AR/DEV here with a keen PvP interest and PvE passion.

You need beanbag earlier, get it ASAP because in the PVP zones you end up as level 25 (except warburg 38) and you NEED all the mez attacks you can get.

Targetting drone is a must, 3 slots right away ASAP

Auto turret has limited uses, its ok in PvE but in PvP it'll get you killed so fast, loads of endurace used up in it too I rarely use it in either vE or vP becasue it takes so long. mines are far more useful and tactical.

Personally I don't think fly works with AR/Dev, tried it and love it but it limits tactics. I'm a TP man, becasue TP foe give a wealth of options in both PvP and PvE.

Fitness pool.... weeeeeellll it has its uses but I wouldn't and hven't got it. IT affects slotting.

TD allows you NOT to slot accuracies in your attacks, so use 3 dam, 1 end red, 2 rec reds, should keep you going for ages, with taser and bean bag 3 disorientate durations, 1 end red and 2 rec red

Buckshot I have slotted for a knock back weapon as a space buyer.

Slot your webgrenades, caltrops and anything that can stop people getting to you. I can perma mez a +1 boss with taser and bean bag.

Ignite is the most under rated power in the set, when combined with webgrenade to hold foe in place it can do more damage than full auto with 3 dam, 1 rec red, it uses little endurance and comes back fast, very useful toy.

2 travel powers might be a bit indulgent... thats 2 offensive powers you could have there.

I slot burst to reduce defence, very handy when you need to hit a tougher opponent.

Good plan not going for M30, it sucks

Smoke grenade, great in PvE, not in PvP, sleep is to weak a hold.

AR DEV are slower damaging than other Blasters, use tactics and strategy rather than head to head blasting. We have no mez protection at all.

Using TP foe I can one hit anything that I can TP with mines, very very very useful.

The Rangers are all blasters, mainly those who keep at least one eye on the forum. This community is at the heart of the Precision Rangers.

We love a laugh, semi role play when we feel like it, without any formalising which can confuse the hell out of me but its fun, we team regularily with other SGs and have a wide mix of levels.

We have a slight code of conduct in that we do not tolerate abuse directed at other players unless it is done in a clearly light hearted manner.

We have a mix of PvP and PvE players.

Teleporter cost 15k to buy once you have manufactured it, but to use it into the hazard zones you need to either have found the SG badge relating to that zone OR spend 10k buying the flag that lets you travel there. I'm going all out to get this up and running for my SGs base as I think it is one of the most useful elements of the SG base concept as it means you can effectively go from Creys folly to Founders fall, to IP with a much shorter travelling time... expensive but worth it... when you think a big TV costs 5k, 15k really ain't that much. It took me a while (and some advice) before I realised that I had it in personal items.... so now I have 3 of the buggers ready to go wish they'd told me from the outset!

I tp foe happily, I don't care if it results in you taking a spanking, sorry, actually I'm not, TP Foe is there precisely to tp the foe away from their saftey and dump them in a hell of trouble. If you don't like it, then you go get it, any tp you can do I can do better

I got TP'd last night and whupped, after I'd done it to dozens of villains. I can't imagine taking my AR/DEV into pvp without it.

To whole heartedly agree with Syn, in PvP AR/DEVs versatility makes it an intimidating build. I have good blasts, a fast nuke, traps, mines, inherrant invisibility and accuracy buffs. I have mezzes that can be used up close or from range. The guerilla warfare exhibited by the punisher is why Doulos is AR/DEV and I love it. Don't moan about it, I'm not moaning about how uber forcefields now are, or the fact that you have 9 minions or something, or the fact that you can 1 hit me if I don't see you coming. You don't like my TP foe? Then when you see me coming run away, IF you can see me coming.

EDIT: Cheap tactic better than no tactic... no tactic get you killed, even a cheap tactic can keep you alive...

I think I've been spoilt. The only MMO, before this, that I've given a lot of time to was World of Warcraft, and I found levelling quite smooth and simple. I always knew, though, from the other MMO forums, that this was quite a rare experience in such games!

I tried CoH just before getting into WoW, and was a bit lost for stuff to do - at least when soloing. CoV seems to have loads more missions, and I love the newspaper system, but even so... Gimme more XP, dammit!

I never found any grind, in here, I thought it would be worse than it was, at 35 hit heroic and play through it all, I have plenty of missions still to go from contacts in the "grind levels" and have hit 40 pretty fast. 39 was a pain only cause I really wanted to be level 40.

There are many threads on this forum already dedicated to the Coalition Supergroups but I thought it might help people to get a grasp of how vast the coalition actually is. At the core of the coalition are the 5 1ATSGs.

Precision Rangers (Blasters)
Armoured Core (Tanks)
Team G.B.H. (Scrappers)
SNHS (Defenders)
Union Overlords (Controllers)

There are dozens of players involved in these groups but the coaltion is bigger than this as it involves many other SGs. Off the top of my head:

Darkwings
New Blood Rebellion
Scrapapocalypse
Paragon Allstars

and others

There are a huge amount of community based players (forumites) involved and a lot of gamers. There are toons of every level involved in the Coalition and many many people to talk to and ask advice from online.

If you want to get into any one of the 1ATSGs or anyother coalition SG then get in touch with us. Many people including myself, have found that this had made the game instantly more fun, more involving and more satisfying. There are spaces in every SG going, each will have their own criterea for entry, but if you are interested in getting in on this then please let us know, either on the relevant thread or on here. Let us know the name of the toon you want invited and the group you are interested in and we will do our best to contact you in game to sort out an invite.

The more players in the coalition, the more likely we are to get good regular teaming.

It was Aeronaut you allegedly ganked, I asked for it but TPing you too me without enough mines to kill you... Aero is not into PVP at all and was just going about his business before the lag hit him.

Do you guys have that as a bind? "Ranger over here, get 'im!" would explain why you always zero in on us so fast. Don't worry, we have you guys on the top of our list too.

I have picked many bones with you chives, as you left them all firmly planted through my chest several times as I recall... that's if that's what your spines are...
