This penalty for standard custom mobs is what disappointed me a lot too. I playtested my one and only decent arc several times with groups and realized I had to downgrade my custom mobs so that most had at least 1 standard powerset, to turn the arc into a decent but most of all enjoyable challenge.
I have been out of the game for several months, so I was wondering if there has been any new information about this xp penalty? Is something going to be done to compensate for this loss of xp vs difficulty balance?
What I didn't understand from some recent patch notes is that extreme gives more xp than hard, but I only saw mentioning of 100% xp for both extreme and hard in another patch note. So if I make a custom mob with standard/extreme would it get close to 100% xp? -
Now I might finally be able to create the story that I had been preparing already before beta release of architect :-D This is really great news!

Well... It's sad to say, but I lost my interest in the game due to the architect farming (coupled with the 100kb size limit).
I am a bit tired of the usual content so architect was THE solution to draw me back to the game as I love to see new mobs and experience the unexpected.
Last time I was going down one by one the list of architect missions (starting with most popular), about 7 out of 10 were farm missions with bubble allies. I filed complaints to the devs about each of them
I just don't like to make or look for architect teams when people are likely to ask for a farm mission.
Farming always existed in the game and doing Frostfire multiple times never bothered most people I think. But at least there was a level limit to that mission. Not so with architect farming. You can level up from 1 to 50 with always the same mission.
First of all they need to remove the force field ally exploit. And then I thought of this suggestion: diminish xp for every time you play the same mission in architect. EDIT: You could then of course remove your farm arc and publish it with a new ID to gain full xp again, but at least it will make you lose your top spot at the list
EDIT2: Maybe putting a level limit range on architect missions could be a good idea? For example you need to choose a range of 5 levels: from 1-5, 22-26, 43-47 etc. And/or abandon the automatic level adjustment feature (except when you are in test mode)? Farm teaming is so easy now because you can play at level 45+ without being sidekicked. -
Yes I am familiar with cityofguides.com (look at my signature, which I forgot to add in first post hehehe) and the existence of great non-farm arcs. Well Atlas Park is maybe the worst place to be then. Is there some AE building, hero side, for non farmers? I would like somehow to be able to easily form group with people for doing non farm architect missions.
In any case, I think they should fix the ally bubble exploit? To encourage people to play more than a couple of (farm) arcs, I was thinking about a cumulative 10% xp/ticket penalty for every time you play the mission again (each time you quit group or finish mission counts as one)? -
After being absent from the game for a few weeks, I decided to get back to playing/making architect missions and build a toon from scratch. My idea was to (almost) only play architect missions with my new character. I wanted to try out a lot of missions but every architect team I encountered is focused almost completely on doing FARM missions. I gathered a team once myself to do my own mission (no farm) but when I asked what mission they wanted to do next, they suggested a farm mission
Those missions always seem to use a bunch of allies with sonic resonance/force field group bubbles. Then they start beating on groups containing only bosses or lieutenants ad infinitum.
I think this ally exploit should somehow be dealt with, right?
EDIT: My experience is from French server, but the 'exploit' could happen anywhere of course, don't know if there's as much architect farming on other servers -

I nominate
Ee-Ai-Ee-Ai-Oh! (3662)
By Judgement Dave
i played most of it but my machine crashed out, waiting for the antique to finish faffing so I can finish it. and KS says it should be nominated to.

I second this. From the Arcs I played (I have been away from the game for a month to cool down from the architect hypeand try Aion on chinese server) Ee-Ai-Ee-Ai-Oh! was my clear favorite. It's very fun and gameplay is balanced as well. The story idea is great, characters are well done with nice descriptions.

A trick I started to use is to add an ally level 51 (for example Miss Liberty) which only appears after mission completion. People tend to gather groups for MA ignoring levels of players, so to have autolevelling can be very useful. Unfortunately it leaves out a bunch of mob groups with low level ranges. I wish they would make all mob groups go up to 54.

Oh, and one other thing: will it be possible at some point to view/sort arcs by rating in the overview screen? In that case, I hope 0 gets treated as "no rating" instead of just "abysmally bad", because when I add a comment (as I just did), I obviously wouldn't wan't to rate my own arc, but I wouldn't want to bring down my average either by not doing so
[/ QUOTE ]
ooooo-ooo a bug, you aren't supposed to be able to comment on your own arcs. Although the sort idea is not a bad idea. I like to shy away from ratings though as they are very easy to corrupt.

(Sorting on) Ratings in the global overview could be an exciting feature, IF ratings would be fair and balanced. I am afraid that is very hard to achieve and that's why I advised against this feature in the beginning. -

No FAQ suggestions?

I think the FAQ is sufficient. The site is not extremely complicated. I agree with the edit comments option. -
I was thinking about how they could make the in game search browser more useful for filtering out poorly made arcs. So far I can only think of adding sorting on amount of text in the arc (clues, character dialogues, souvenir, contact introductions etc). To not put shorter arcs at disadvantage, the total amount of text should be divided by the number of missions in the arc.

Can I suggest to turn this to sticky?
I am copying my post from the 'new thread' I started, because I hadn't noticed this one
A short tutorial:
Click on register in left part of screen to create an account. After creating an account you can click on login to add arcs and reviews for arcs to the site.
Above the list of arcs, there's a button: user page, where you can add your arc, edit all information about your arcs (like author comment, arc ID etc) or remove them from the site.
In the list of arcs, you can read the comment from the author and people who have played it, by clicking somewhere in the line of the arc. At the bottom of the comments you can click to add your own comment.
Below the list of arcs, you can choose to sort the list on various fields. One interesting sorting option is 'last comment' + 'ascending' which puts all arcs without comments (other than from the author) on top, followed by those with the oldest comments.
Note: the field 'extreme' refers to an arc which has a difficulty high above the ordinary, suitable for players who are looking for an extreme challenge. -
Ah ok didn't see it. Thanks for mentioning!

This thread is EDIT: not needed, because there was already one

I don't know if this has been said before, but I noticed a difference between a custom elite boss and a standard elite boss. The custom elite boss appears as lieutenant on heroic, but a standard elite boss (i used blade prince) still appears as elite boss on heroic. I also don't understand why the devs don't lower an elite boss to a boss, since it would follow the logic AV-EB, Boss-Lt (one category lower).
