Heck, the Fantastic Four has to pay rent on the Baxter Building.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, the Baxter Building was destroyed years ago. To be fair, though, they were evicted from Four Freedoms Plaza only a short time ago.

Going from CoH to L2 is a promotion?

[/ QUOTE ]Perhaps you don't want to hear this, but the numbers for L2 dwarf the numbers for CoH. CoH had 15 servers in March 2005, L2 had 112. CoH had a total monthly access of 140k, L2 had a total of 2.1m. The CoH US servers had a highest concurrent user count of 18k, exceded by L2 separately in the US, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Korea. Daily access to L2 exceeds that of US daily access to CoH in every region except the US. Yes, this is a promotion.

Congratulations, Vyvyanne. We're sorry to see you go, but we'll be glad to see you arrive.

What I'm concerned about when it comes to the upgraded graphics is the hardware side of it. Are they going to be upgraded in such a way that some players may be forced to upgrade their video cards to compensate? Or will they upgrade them in such a way that the engine simply won't try to display the new "spit and polish" if the card can't handle it?

[/ QUOTE ]And please keep in mind that it is impossible for some players to upgrade the video cards in their systems, because they are notebook systems.

How exactly would heroes be able to raid villains' bases if they were completely separate games? This is an established feature and I've seen nothing to suggest that you could create heroes in CoV. Maybe you can, I dunno.

[/ QUOTE ]There will be some linkages on the server side, where both CoH and CoV will be talking to the same server, but the clients will be distinct. While in those linked missions both sides will be able to see the same things, the exact graphics used will be better on the CoV side.

Since there are only so many business hours in the day, you can't really speed things up much even when turning an 8-hour workday into a 10-hour, as that's only a 25% increase. Then you start having to worry even more about employee burnout, too, which will just slow you down again.

[/ QUOTE ]Heh. That reminds me of an occurrence (or it could be a local UL) here in Austin during the dot.com boom, when a programmer who had been a member of the "century club" (100+ hour work week) continuiously for over a year, was found running around the company's parking lot...nude. Yes, burnout can be an ugly thing.

Does this mean that City of Heroes will get a face lift

    [/ QUOTE ]No.

Minx's Secondary set is actually Regeneration.

Red kryptonite doesn't take his powers. Gold kryptonite did.

Comprehend and reserve a modicum of the comic book knowledge I have.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, there have been two post-Crisis versions of red kryptonite. The first, created by Mxyzptlk, did remove Superman's powers. The second, developed by Batman and used by Ras al Gul, turned Superman's skin transparent, amping his powers beyond control.

Since the 100 pounds of kryptonite currently in the posession of the Red Hood came from the newest Supergirl's arrival, and that was multi-colored, we really don't know what it could do. Superman was quarantined at the Watchtower while JSA and the rest of the JLA collected it.

Second, Teleport. Everyone complains about what an endurance hog it is (I've used it myself and have to agree) and its just not worth that much endurance to travel 100 or so yards per tp in line-of-sight.

[/ QUOTE ]Well, not everyone. I haven't had any real endurance issues with it since I took Stamina and six-slotted it - which also is a huge benefit in combat, so it isn't like I did that just to make Teleport usable. My main complaint is the lag sometimes between when you select a target and when you start porting. More annoyingly is what happens if you select another target because you thought the first selection didn't 'take' - you wind up turning in some arbitrary direction, usually where you can't see where you need to get to. Either teleport should not accept multiple stacked targets (it would clear the stack when you port), or the target point should be the furthest surface in that line, and you port your 100 yards toward it with each click - not wind up with a group of port locations 100 yards from your original spot.

Well, technically, Wonder Girl as a sidekick was a continuity error... the original Wonder Girl wasn't Wonder Woman's sidekick but Wonder Woman's adventures as a girl but someone got mixed up and thought she was a separate character and thus she teamed up with the Titans.

...or at least, so John Byrne claimed in justifying all the muck he did to the character.

[/ QUOTE ]Well, the muck started well before Byrne, with Donna Troy having multiple irreconcilable origins. "Who is Wonder Girl?" was almost an annual [[New] Teen] Titans storyline.

If a player is more than 300 ft. away (an increase of 100 ft.) from the mob when it’s defeated and did NO damage, he receives no XP.

[/ QUOTE ]What is the limit to how far an enemy can be targeted? In theory, Moonbeam could have a 416.5 ft range (175 ft base * 238% w/6 SO +3 range enhancements).

"This will be avoided by those who really want a turkey shoot when fighting melee characters."

[/ QUOTE ]Yep. The problem of how to balance meele and flying characters isn't unique to CoH. WizKids HeroClix has the same issue, and it's resolved there by limiting "soaring" characters to only being able to affect other soaring characters. I'm not certain that something similar would work in PvP, though, because I suspect that if there was a "meele altitude ceiling", flying blasters would simply become good at dive bombing.

i wish you guys would give up on the whole "solo" thing.

[/ QUOTE ]I don't think you would like it if they did, because in short order the game would either be cancelled or become much more expensive. They are trying to correct where they've made it too difficult to solo, because they realize how essential that customer base it, while still providing incentives for players to team up.

Also I would like to see improvements to teaming where it would not take as long to form a team and make it easier to gather the newly formed team together. Maybe it only takes ten minutes to form a team.

[/ QUOTE ]What are you looking for? For the latter, are you looking for the team leader to get a "Team Aggregate" temporary power to bring the team to the leader's location? If you do that, why would anyone take the Recall Friend power? For the former, I'm not certain what can be done. I find the search feature for players looking for a team useful, but so many people who are broadcasting/requesting that they are LFT never toggle their Seek Team flag. If other players aren't using the tool, you can't exactly blame the developers for that unless you explain why the current system isn't used.[ QUOTE ]
I would like to see improvements in super group management by making it easier to find the right super group for your hero.

[/ QUOTE ]Again, what kind of improvements would you like? Vague requests like this are guaranteed to achieve results that don't meet what you want.

    • Team up XP bonuses will be increased.

[/ QUOTE ]I think that this is the mpst important part of this. It's far better to use the carrot than the stick to get the behavior that you'd prefer to see.[ QUOTE ]
(Hard-Boiled, though we’re changing that to Hero)

[/ QUOTE ]Is there any possibility of getting a Hard-Boiled badge? My mystic gumshoe likes being Hard-Boiled.
