Softcap is nice but not needed if you specifically don't want to go for it and I do fine in trials and tfs. -

Personally I enjoy range defense on my En/En, and s/l on my son/fire -
Here is my current build; however once fitness goes inherent it will be revised for the addition of the steadfast +3def and maybe weave.
With scorp shield this current build hits 29.9% S/L def.
I've found S/L def to add way more survivability then just melee def.

I've noticed that myself, It seems the proc does 10% of whatever endurance is your max.
So people with 100 still see 10, those with the Atlas medallion see 10.5 and so on and so on.
I personally enjoy seeing 11.2 myself.

I agree with Laevateinn's post above
I hit a lil over 30 ranged defense and 66 global recharge on my En/En/Force
A good mix of the two I feel is better then all of one and none of the other.
