Quote:Thank God.Additionally, future issues will include additional methods of obtaining Incarnate Threads.
As far as the reward system: I guess it's as we expected. Glad to know you're both aware of the Mastermind problem and planning on doing something about it.
Also:
Quote:Don’t forget that higher tier rewards can be broken down into lower tier components.
A Very Rare is made up of 4 * 4 uncommons (60 threads each) + 100 * 4 threads for a total of 1360 threads. Which you can't break down into lower tier components. You can only break it down into threads. 36-44 threads. That's not even a guaranteed 2 commons. For a very rare that's normally made up of an effective 68 commons. A rare is made up of 340 threads, and only breaks down to 20-24 threads.
If you could break down a VR into all four rares, or a rare into all four uncommons, that would be cool. But no, telling people to break down rares or very rares is a terrible idea. -
Elec Melee is pretty bad for them too. They require a lot of ST focus, and even for the parts where AoE is useful, the animations are slow and stuff tends to die before I get more than a couple hits off.
Also since two of my AoEs work off of pets it's possible that's a factor in the whole debate about contribution-based rewards and the pets not counting. -
-
The Elec nuke has an interesting quality though.
Nukes normally drain -100% end of the user. Meaning if you hit even one person you lose all your end. If you miss everyone though, you won't.
The Elec nuke however only drains -40 end per target hit. Meaning if you only hit one person with your nuke, you'd still have end left. That makes it the only nuke you can actually use in combat on a boss or AV without killing all your endurance. You know, if for some reason you wanted to do that.
It also drains 55% end from targets it hits, with a 30% chance of draining an extra 25% -
Just adding to this stuff, about BAFs which I do most of the time:
My widow got mostly uncommons and rares. If it's based on combat log stuff that seems right. She's constantly attacking and buffing and taunting and doing stuff. But she's ST centric and doesn't do great on adds (except one at a time) or against the runner phase (I summon Lore pets and let them do it). I did probably around 50 trials with her.
My Dom is very AoE centric, and very good at the runner phase. She has around 7 AoEs that pop up in the combat log. As a result she gets all rares and VRs. In under 15 runs she got three VRs. My widow had to do around 50 runs to get 2 VRs. My Dom has more rares than she can do anything with, and had 3 rares made before the slots were even unlocked. She's NEVER gotten anything worse than an uncommon (and the uncommon was only three times), except the one time she came in at the tail end of phase four. Imagine that, she got a thread table.
My Elec/Inv Brute is horrible at BAF. She doesn't have ST focus, and doesn't have taunt. Her AoEs fire extremely slow, and she gets confused during the runner phase. So she can't camp doors, can't chase down enemies very well, can't tank AVs, and her ST contribution is low. She has never gotten a rare, and in fact gets thread tables fairly often.
I know there are people who have evidence like "I leeched and got a VR," but my own experiences are pretty much "I did x and got exactly the expected results based on a contribution-based system." -
AFAIK it's a bug that it doesn't currently work with pets. Because A) all other interface bonuses do, B) it used to.

I might try to solo Lusca! But seeing as I need to use Lore pets, it would take 2 hours.

Quote:I hate when my demons die but I try to get my zombies killed on purpose. I'm not sure why; it might just be the distinction between the two. "COME ON, they have 80%+ RES and 10%+ DEF and I have 3 heals and they STILL DIED?" Over "Welp a zombie died, not much I could've done about it. Oh hey, a ghost."I used to lament over losing a Pet during a fight. Then I realized that my MM actually ACTIVATES his Primary set less than anyone but a Tank. Blasters, Trollers, heck even FF Defenders have to key their Primary powers more often than I do normally. With that in mind I don't bother to resummon after losing a Minion and if the mission is about done I won't even resummon a T2 right away.
The fact that the pets now zone with me has made a HUGE difference in this notion however. -
The thing is I don't think the server just copypastes your combat log and uses that. It sets up things as having been used by different entities. If you use Fire Blast then the server sees that you used it. But if your pet uses Fire Blast, it sees the pet as having used it. It doesn't go into your "file." If you have pets you can see their information in your combat log, but that doesn't mean the server sees it the same way.
This is just a theory though. It's obviously not just damage done, because you can "pass" the Praetorian events without attacking. I doubt the "participation" mechanic is anything too complicated. Just checking the length of combat log information seems pretty straightforward. -
You can't slot (or even upgrade) a power that's still recharging.
-
Quote:I don't believe pets are being attributed to your contributions though (but maybe your robots are getting rare rolls!). Think of them in your combat log more as an insight and not something the server considers your doing. All you'd get points for would be using the power that summons them in the first place, and buffing them. But henchmen damage goes to the combat log, and we've been told henchmen damage isn't being counted (at least for the Praetoria zone events, and I'm assuming the same 'participation' score is being used here).
If it was just the combat log entries, MMs should be getting Very Rare nearly every TF, unless they're sticking the pets in Passive stance. Pets damage spams up the combat log more than anything else I've seen, even AoEs (6 pets, most of them have AoEs of their own). -
Quote:FWIW the working theory I'm going off of is that its just records combat log information as participation. So it doesn't matter if your power does damage or not. It doesn't matter if you targeted an enemy or an ally to buff them. But what does matter is that pets don't show up in the combat log.I suppose it may help that /Dark is a debuffing set, so my support powers are almost all offensive, but damage dealt clearly isn't the main criteria for 'participation'. (Though the healing from TG may have been a not insignificant factor.)
It's possible for a Mastermind with an active non-pet secondary to get performance marks. Something like Thermal, Pain, or Dark might get a lot of points. But from what I've seen, people using Forcefield and Traps are getting really awful scores. I have a friend with Bots/FF, and even though he uses attacks, he gets threads and commons quite frequently.
My widow has buffs and attacks and does things like taunt AVs and stuff. I can usually get rares and uncommons with her, but not very rares (I got 2 over a huge number of runs). I suspect she's capable of "high" performance but not "max" performance, because she has very few and very weak AoEs. My Dominator on the other hand, who has about 7 AoEs that show up in the combat log, is getting nothing but rares and very rares (she already got 3 VRs in like 15 runs).
If it's tracking combat log information, spamming AoEs would fill that up really fast. But if your character relies on pets or powers that don't need to be used very often (Traps and FF for instance), the total number of entries in your combat log per run is going to be very low.
This is all theory of course. -
Quote:All Interface procs work with pets, other than DoT.I can say that the -res debuff in Reactive does work on pets, or at least, Rain of Fire (which is a pseudo-pet of sorts). I have seen it visually on the mobs, and the fact that the damage ticks jump up is a clear indicator.
But I don't think the DoT works, probably because that would just be insane.
DoT worked until they changed how it was applied. It had a different bug before which was arguably worse (the enemies damaged themselves, leading to reduced rewards). It's likely that when they changed it they messed up the pet application.
I don't think the DoT could be any more "insane" than the other bonuses. The DoT still has a stacking cap so it can't go any higher than a set amount of damage no matter how many pets or tics are trying to apply it. -
Quote:Less than 5 minutes because the pets were still around. Somewhere around 4 minutes I think.Nice
How long did the fight take? Did you use anything to suppress its regen, or did you just out-DPS it?
And no, I don't have any -regen powers, and I didn't use any temps. -
The Victoria + ACU is Warworks Core tree. Those are tier 4, so they have a passive +25% damage. I have Musculature for another +45%. And dual Assault for +30%.
-
I didn't use any inspirations or temp powers. Just incarnate stuff. The stuff about temps was just a discussion I was having.
-
The new Incarnate stuff is pretty strong I figure. I was wondering if it would let me solo an AV with my widow. But that proved to be too easy. So I went to see if there was anything else I could do.
EDIT: Made the image a hyperlink. -
On a good group he shouldn't be wandering. He does jump but only at set HP intervals, and since the killspeed is going to be slow it won't be that often. Other sets might be more ideal, but Miasma, Traps, and TA are still useful.

Anyway, back on the subject of "iXP too fast with shards," I'm not sure what makes more sense to me:
A) Unlocking an entire slot in one ITF, then actually crafting and slotting a power to put in that slot in 2 more ITFs
B) Crafting a rare power for a slot without even having the slot 1/3 unlocked yet by doing trials
Fiddling around I'm consistently being able to make at least an uncommon, if not rare, before I even come close to unlocking a slot fully. My Dom crafted a rare Judgement and an uncommon Lore before even unlocking Judgement. She's now 47% into Lore and one more trial or so will get her to rare. I also started working on a common Interface before even doing any Lambdas. I did a failed run and got a lot of iXP, but I already have an uncommon and rare waiting so there's no way I won't have a rare there before even unlocking it, yet again.
Arcanaville commented that doing one ITF and unlocking a slot would be too fast. I'd be inclined to say the iXP system is just arbitrary and it doesn't really make sense no matter which way you approach it. -
Just got out of a failed MoLambda. His resists are a beast. I don't think the league leader realized just how bad they are. We had hardly any -RES at all.
What sort of league makeup is required to actually complete this? If I was to build a league myself for it I'd probably make sure at least half the league has -RES. Some psi wouldn't hurt either. -
I wonder if it would be worthwhile to people if I did a brief guide on what incarnate powers to take and aim for for different people, as a recommendation/suggestion/guide type of thing.
-
So to get master you have to deal with him having 100% S/L and 95% everything else. When he t9s you'll have to basically wait it out, unless you have tons of psi damage available.
-
Just on the slight derail of how fast you get exp, my Dom has now done three trials (BAFs). She has a rare Pyronic, but the slot is only 49% unlocked.
