  1. What patron pool would you recommend for ahuntsman build, if any? The only one that looks at all attractive to me is the Black Scorpion pool, simply because it gives me another spider bot. The mace drtawing attacks are not attractive to me at all due to redraw and the fact that I already have a full set of ranged attacks. Are any of the epics worth it to ahuntsman?

Thanks for the kind words. I know it's a short arc, but it's really my first experiment with the MA system. To be honest I really like creating custom enemies. I have a couple others "Defeat the Sinister Syndicate" and "Defeat the Justice Patrol" that are just me indulging in character creation.
Incidentally, the movies mentioned in the character info are all fakes, since I wanted to avoid actually calling any published work by name. I've been trying to create a mummy character, but I'm having trouble getting a good costume together. I'd consider doing The Creature as well. What powers would I give them? Thanks for your review, and check out the arc in a week or two, I'll probably expand it.

(QR) If anyone would like to try my arc "The Monster Mash" 42928, I'd love to hear some feedback.
  4. Is there anyone out there planning a guide for Illusion/ Trick Arrow? I'm really curious about this combo
  5. You know, it kind of bothers me that this plotline jumps 50 years from the 30's to the 80's. As a huge fan of Silver Age comics, I would love to see a novel or comic storyline set in that timeline. It would be nice if they could create some silver-agish characters that really captured the flavor of that period as well. And if they were smart they might get someone like Neal Adams or Sal Buscema to draw a cover for it (it's sad to realize how few silver age artists are still with us, these two were kind of late silver agers).
  6. Say Mystic, have you given any thought to twisting your various elec/elec tricks to the new elec/elec brutes? While holds aren't in the brute repetoire, I still think many of the same tactics could be viable.

BTW, unrelated, but how do you think air superiority would fit with a elec/elec blaster? I think the knockdowns could be good damage mitigation in between electric melees and power sink/short circuit.

    Accolade powers

Just adding my 2 cents for a 100th post!
  8. I looked at this storyline as being almost an homage to the classic "Celestial Madonna" storyline by Steve Englehart from The Avengers. This storyline involved Kang, Rama-Tut and Immortus all working at cross purposes even though they are all the same guy! Rama-Tut was an older version of kang whao had reformed and become a benevolent ruler who sought to stop his more depraved younger self, while Immortus was--and is-- just confusing! He did preside over the double wedding of the Vision and the Scarlet Witch and The Cotati/Swordsman's Ghost and Mantis. Classic stuff! I wish Englehart would get back into comics--Marvel could use the help!

  10. I think your avatar may count as the funniest double entendre in this thread AmericanSteel!
  11. I'm a big proponent of the medicine pool. Aid Other is also a nice power to have as well. My mastermind uses it often to heal his robots, as opposed to repair in his primary; because it recharges faster, uses less end, and can affect allies as well. My blaster has even been the only healer on a team before, which was tough but interesting. My Rad defender found it useful as well as a nice single target heal that was stronger than his AOE heal.
  12. Based on the EXTREME reaction in the forums to "enhancement diversification," I suspect there may be a slight rollback on this at some point, ala accuracy penalty becoming suppression. I do not, however think we will see our enhancements at I5 levels again after ED goes live. I think elec/elec can survive this though--especially because we have had no official numbers on ED yet.
  13. In I5, they are adding new mez protection to the Aid self and Aid Other powers, making the medicine pool more attractive to blasters than ever.
  14. It might be just as well if the gods utilized in the incarnate mythology were created for the game, thus sidestepping all of this debate. Maybe the story could involve some sort of archaeological excavation and the discovery of a whole new mythology.
  15. I was not trying to denigrate Judeo-christian values. I was merely pointing out that absolute values of good and evil are an inherent part of this value system. Our own modern thinking is so much a part of this system that it is sometimes difficult to recall that various cultures and time periods felt differently about these things.
  16. Perhaps Statesman merely uses the power of Zeus, ala Don Blake in the earliest issues of Thor being a mortal who was able to use Thor's powers. Later the Blake personality was disposed of and the god was given preeminence. Might Statesman be rather like this early version of Thor? Or like Billy Batson, able to channel and use the power of the gods, yet still maintain his humanity.
I also agree with the point that the Zeus=good, Hades=Evil idea is far off base. One of the things which is truly challenging to the judeo-christian mindset to grasp about the ancient Greeks was that they did not really believe in good and evil as absolute values as we do. All the gods could be alternately petty, cruel, generous, or benign. Often appeasing one god might offend another. The Greeks believed in honor, and this was the principle most like "good," but was more about excellence in combat and fair play than deep moral issues.
