  1. I've long been for retooling the Terminals as massive help and tip files of all types (the above is a good idea for inclusion).
  2. The above is the only reason I leave them on. I just KNOW the second I turn them off I'm gonna mess up.

    I'm not to be trusted.

    What to do...

I just got back in Jan. after a six month nightmare with a broken computer. I don't even want to THINK about this question.

    uh-huh.

And everywhere you see opportunities for CoX ads instead you will see WoW ads.

    This will continue.

NCSoft -Barely- advertises for this game.

    So it will -Barely- survive.

    -If at all.
Last I knew, CoX and NCSoft were in the "doing just fine, thanks" area (and always have been), not "barely survive". No one here is in competition with WoW. No one in the industry is in competition with WoW. WoW is the 500 lb. gorilla in the room. It does whatever it wants.

Been said before. We still seem to be here and continuing to add stuff.

TwigDeath gives me an expensive idea:

Honestly I think it would actually be worth it to - at some point - rather than push new things, go back and rework the old. Nothing like Faultline revamp, that's asking for quite a bit (except when it comes to Boomtown, that place needs life so bad), but old things like those mentioned, from events to trials to giant monsters. Things that are currently there already, they just need.. I don't know, a revival for the modern day City of X player.
Maybe they need to hire a Legacy Dev, in charge of keeping all things old spruced up and shiny.

    Fleeting Whisper notes a flaw:

The Deadly Apocalypse, on the other hand, requires a lot of coordination and/or teams in order to succeed. Which simply doesn't happen when it's a common occurrence and has little reward.
I think part of the problem too is that is seems a bit much for a semi-random event. If you could plan for it, you could probably find enough people. But no one wants to just wait around until it randomly happens (or set up the Halloween Salvage exchange on a "chance" of it happening).

    Power_NA tangents:

True, but isn't Teleport Freind kinda the same think as Teleport Foe? They are differewnt powers just like the buffs/debuffs and you can't say no to poeple who use Teleport Foe in PvP : P
Those two are the same power with different target availability (and other differences). Buffs and debuffs are the same thing, just with + or - before the numbers.

Or so I've been told. Someone with first hand knowledge feel free to correct me.
  8. True enough, and on my part, if it's clipping with A and not a whole bunch of others, I'm much more in favor of them not allowing A with it rather than removing it completely like they've done with so many ( if the engine and program cooperate, anyway).

Clearly then, the morality of the DC execs and writers is decayed and rotten...
Well, yes, but for completely different reasons.
  10. It's weird actually seeing it (didn't see it on field mice, but pet hamsters and gerbils). They kind of "pancake" out.

    Noobquestion

Y'know, I've always thought of second builds as things for stuff like a PvP build or a Taunt/No Taunt Tanker or things like that. I never once thought to use it as a "Trial Build". Thanks, I'll be remembering that.

See, no matter how long you play, you can still learn new stuff.

    StormSurvivor has me nit-pick:

I also said 'Kime-roar-ah' until I heard War Witch say 'Simmer-or-ah' on a recording of some panel thing.
According to Latin, it should be Kim-eh-roar-ah, but, yes, pretendy funtime game.
  14. Unless that just means the numbers are the same as a level 20 DO. Funny how all the pictures of them have a 1 on them.
  15. What? You mean we're not just reiterating the same old arguments found in several other threads on the subject? Or just that we're more entertaining?
  16. Oh...my. I have so many but I try really hard to forget them. For like two years I was the misstell KING of our SG, and many of them things I shouldn't have said "in public" (yes, those who've witnessed, I talk behind people's backs sometimes...and so do you ). None really come to mind, but I'll post some if they do.

But, this is going to be one fun thread. Nice idea!
  17. You heard it here first, folks. NovaFactor is in reality Harely Quinn.

    Advertising...
It won't get out of places I don't want them like on videos...
and won't get into place I think they'd be cool like CoH...

It'd be so easy to do some advertisements... like Out Back Steakhouse and KFC...considering we have ads for Infront steakhouse and Major something's Fried Chicken.
If you're talking about actual advertisements, don't you remember them trying it and it not really working out? I remember a shoe ad...then bupkis.
  19. Absolutely! Maybe in CoH2.

On an unrelated note, have you seen some of the NPC costumes the devs come up with??? Ok, they might not clip, but gawd, they sure ain't pretty.
When I've been in PI, I've repeatedly walked up to Castle just to tell him how ugly I think his costume is.

    AE ticket revamp

    Quote:
    Stormfront_NA misses the point:

The whole idea is to make AE better and encourage fine mission development... It would be nice if we used our energies to achieve that, than simply nitpick the suggestion.
Pointing out flaws is part of the deal here.

    Quote:
A somewhat good observation, is that any improvements would result in a direct increase in the proportion of farm missions. Is there a way to achieve making the AE system better and not have farming directly associated?
First of all, don't say "farm". Farming is fine. Nothing wrong with it. It's exploit farming that's problematic.

Secondly, your focus is all on the rewards. The rewards are the PROBLEM in the case of exploit farmers. If people are coming to the AE for the rewards, that's not what it's for. Fixing or changing the rewards isn't going to make it popular with anyone else but people who are interested in rewards. All you're doing is putting bodies in the building, you're not making the actual, genuine AE stories more popular.

    Quote:
Oh Penny, you ask for numbers... When is the last time you walked inside an AE building? When is the last time you heard repeated broadcasts for folks recruiting into an AE mission?
As far as I could tell almost NO ONE was repeatedly broadcasting for folks in the AE but people running exploit farms, back to day one. Those aren't the "numbers" that are desired. EDIT: And, yes, I see people in the AE buildings all the time. Not big crowds, but they're used.

If you'd like to see some good ideas, see this thread about giving MA writers more and better tools to work with to make more and better content.
  22. Ouch!

    We'll get you next year!!!

    Maybe.
  23. Could be some kind of Clock boss we haven't seen that Mr. Blue's fighting there.
  24. Well, the cape stuff I consider "mild" only because it's the cape (somewhat nature of the beast with this engine). The devs are dedicated to making things look as good as possible. What that is has to be up to them. Left to their own devices, a large portion of the players will make stuff that looks terrible (in fact, they already do, aesthetically). Then new players look around and say "Man, the devs here have no idea how to make costumes right." I trust the devs way WAY beyond what I'd ever trust the players.
  25. Pretty sure none of that would work. Be pointless putting in a "word checker" when instead of "uryoul;se" they'd just put "dog cat squirrel mouse horse". All those ideas would easily be dodged by the exploiters.

    1. no dialog (make many fields required) - you'd just get non-dialog dialog

    2. only one bad guy who is cloned all over - so now you have two guys cloned over and over and over.

    3. no story- how about minimum field lengths vice just maximum for text about story and missions? More text fields required? - Again, goose chicken pistol hammer random verb cut paste repeat.

    4. only one element like 'kill everything'- require multiple elements- kill, guard, collect, patrol etc. - Random patrol + kill all. It solves nothing.
