  1. Nevermind, got the problem fixed. (And seemingly, I can't delete my own post here.)
  2. Has anyone else had a problem collecting this badge - or for that matter, any badge? I've sent a petition and bug report in game, but thought I'd ask the question here as well.
  3. Just a quick chinein about Inherent Fitness. I love having three more power slots opened up - I think Teen is a better build for it. I am a bit worried that I'll still have to drop an extra enhancement slot onto Swift (''Enhanced Run'/'Enhanced Fly') but that shouldn't be a problem in the long run.

    "Badges badges badges, badges..."

  5. Thanks. Yep, it worked - and I'm headdesking here for being so stupid as to not think of that. And I had to do it 4 times to get everything in the 3rd column there included.
  6. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

Still didn't work, with /screenshotui set at both 0 and 1. I'm still getting nothing but a black screen when I try taking a screen capture of the enhancement slots management screen.

Guess Microsoft forgot to fix their little oppsie there from Vista when they finished 7. (Typical...fix or improve one thing, break three others.)
  7. Well, if I can use it for other stuff, then it should be a good tool alongside IrfanView, ACDSee, and Paint. I've just DL'd it, and I'll see how it works - once I finally get in after applying I19. (Good thing it's laundry day, so I'm not twiddling my thumbs while it does.)

LOL! Yes I do, but I doubt it would be up to the challenge. (Sorry, I'm old fashioned, I prefer a phone to be a phone, not with a lot of bells-and-whistles extras. Unfortunately, you can't seem to get a cell phone without a camera nowadays.)
  9. Thanks for the advice guys, but I'm not okay with loading up a new program or fiddling with my system for such a small problem - in the tech problem section I was told that I could correct this by disabling something in Win 7, which I'm not comfortable with.

And yes, I've tried pasting the screenshot into Paint, Word and IrfanView.

What scares me most now is that, with the amount of RL work I have to do in the next couple of weeks plus respeccing a couple dozen chars for inherent stamina, getting the alpha slot and enhancement(s) and getting rid of the annoying tarzan integration animation in at least one char ASAP... All that together probably means I won't get much time to sleep or eat. Who needs sleep anyway? And I could always use a diet...

*Makes sure the game addiction police isn't watching.*
"A couple dozen"??? I have nearly 70 that I have to deal with - and just about each and every one that is at least lvl 14 has Fitness as their power pool. And because I can't grab a screen-catch of my enhancement slots screen, I'll be doing a lot of writing down things - especially with my lvl 50.

Add in that Tuesday's are my laundry day, I'm gonna have to start packing for a weekend away, and baking the first batch of shortbread for the season - for that weekend - well, I'm gonna be busy as it is.

    But I'm soooooooo excited.

Okay, I finally got around to looking at trying to deal with this with the '/screenshotui' commands. I set it to '1' and took a snapshot, then went into the screenshot subfolder in my COH folder, and found the shot with the full screen displayed, trays and all.

Now, that's only one of my problems solved for when I need to do all the respecs once I19 goes live. See, I then tried the same thing when I opened up the enhancement management screen to take a snapshot of all my enhancement placements. It didn't work, as I got the same black screen - and there are no shots of the enhancement management screen in the screenshot subfolder.

So I'll have a shot of where all the powers go in my trays after I do the respec, but will still have to copy everything down as far as enhancement slots and what are in them, by hand. Not happy.

(For a lvl 8-14 alt, that's not really a problem; for a 50 with lots of powers, power pools and powersets, it can be.)
  12. I have said many times before - as someone with over 25 years of playing PnP RPGs - that throwing in a LOT more enemies, or ramping up their attack and/or defense abilities, against a party just because, is the sign of a bad or lazy GM. Here, I think it's a case of the latter, where the devs have wanted to provide more of a challenge, but have gone too far in that direction.

(Trust me, I've left gaming groups where the GM has, in numerous games, thrown more and more at us, all because his mentality was "I'm having a bad day, so I'm gonna make sure these guys have an even worse day.")

I repeatedly sent in bugs on the new groups, telling the devs that new players will have so much difficulty - from both the power levels and sheer size - with these groups that a number of them will probably just leave the game in disgust.

I believe that a lot of us veteran players have forgotten how bad it was when we first started this game. For me, there were times when it was sheer torture trying to get through a single mission. I have to second the poster who suggested that the 1-20 game should be less deadly, as that's when a new player is trying to learn how to play the game. (And they should be learning how to play the game, not the fastest route from the hospital to the mission door.)

Let's not have every mission be full of +1/+2 enemy, with spawns crowded around almost every square inch of the map. And I will also agree, why the need for 4-5 Blast Masters in a spawn, all with their 'homing missile' blast charges, when maybe 1-2 (or even 2-3) would suffice.

I also want to add in one more thing. There have been too many times where I'm encountered these new enemy groups, and their hit-ratio is near 100%, while mine is in the toilet. Too much of that and you'll see players give up in disgust.

(Oh, one last thing. I'd like to see the data on which of the new Praetorian missions is auto-completed the most. I'll bet those are the toughest ones.)
  13. Well, looks like I can't see all the live GR stuff until at least Friday. Because my convenient pre-paid cc takes 3-5 business days to complete loading the cash onto it. (My bank doesn't offer such a card so I had to go with this one - which I left nearly 20 years ago due to exessive fees and lousy customer service.)

What's even more frustrating was that on the bank's general help line, I was being told 2-3 business days, and I was told in-branch 24-48 hours. (Oh, but if I set up an account with them, I can get the funds transfered instantly onto the card. I left them 20 years ago because of lousy customer service, do you really think that this kind of runaround and conflicting information is going to make me want to set up another account with them?)

(And if anyone wants to know, it'll be at least 2 1/2 years before I can get a regular cc, because I had to declare bankruptsy over my student loans 4 1/2 years ago.)
  14. Okay, my question is regarding the SG/VG leadership issue. If you change allinments and you're the leader of your SG/VG, you're demoted one rank. What happens if you're the sole person in your SG/VG? What happens? Do you lose your SG and base, and all the hard work and prestige you've put into it?
  15. Dave_67

    Who broke it?

I just checked, they're still down.
  16. I agree, bases need some serious love. I have all 12 alts on Infinity in a sorority SG, but stopped work on the base because:

    A) Not enough prestige to buy hundreds, if not thousands, of items to build and manipulate into what I want stuff to end up looking like.

    AND

    B) Worried about going over the magic "You've put too many things in here, I'm gonna crash on you now." number.

I know that about a year ago, I saw a post from someone asking if we could have floor and wall/doorway units in various sizes and shapes, so that we didn't have to use multiple desks and bookcases. For instance, if using desks for upper floors - needed if you don't want anyone being able to see up from a lower floor, like you can with the tile floor - it works out to a maximum of 32 desks per 'base square' per level.

Also, I agree with having a simple fridge or stove instead of having to manipulate 3-4 (or more) items in order to create such. Or a nice bed without having to use 3-4 counters and 2 short bookcases.

Yes, it might come across as somewhat 'The Sims' in terms of building, but I for one would appreciate something like this. (And besides, the girls are screaming at the thought of having to pay 33,000 just for the screen for the theater in the sorority house. )
  17. Okay, I suddenly realized that two very minor things could be done that would be good QOL items, both having to do with a toon's badge list.

    1) Highlight badges we already have in acolade lists.

Right now we just have a list of all the badges you need for each acolade. If the badges you do have were to be highlighted, there wouldn't be any more guesswork as to "Okay, have I gotten the Slayer badge, or was it the Silver Bullet one?" and then have to go hunting in another section.

    2) Subdivide exploration badges.

No, not into seperate tabs. Instead, keep them grouped as they are now, by zone, but have a sub-list for each zone. As it is now, it's hard to remember where one zone ends and another begins on the list.

Don't get me wrong, I think you guys have done an outstanding job with the badge lists over the years - and trust me, I remember how those lists were ingame when I first started. It's just that I want to give out ideas on how to help the game even further.

Yep, as I said above (#3) I found those last night, but still doesn't help if I want to take screenshots of my powers and enhancement slots if I'm doing a respec.
  19. Even with the lag, I had fun. Got 1 Rikti badge, and 4 of the 5 AV badges. Had fun pointing out how it looked like a Winter Lord was trying to swin in the decorative pool after we defeated him.

However, the one LOL moment I had was when a large number of us zoned from Steel to Talos (or was it the other way around?) at the tram. Just seeing about 2-3 dozen heroes rush the door as soon as the gate opened was hilarious.
  20. Played on Liberty, and oh yeah, the lag was so bad, I felt like I was on my old rig during a Rikti invasion - last Rikti invasion I was in was a few weeks after getting my new rig, and it went as smooth as glass.

At one point, coming back from the hospital, I was hovering just in front of Miss Liberty and took in the scene in front of me. Over to my right was the swarm of players taking on a number of Jacks, Enochais, and other assorted baddies. To the front, there was a platton of Winter Lords ready to strike. To my left, there was a platoon of Babbage. Then, just off in the distance between the two was a platton of Adamasters.

Any other day, I think All-American Teen would have taken one look at it and said "To heck with this. You know, Aruba is nice this time of year."
  21. Thanks, I'll try that later. Also, I thought to look in my COH program folder, and found the screen shots I did last night in there. (It still wouldn't have helped me, as I was trying to take screen shots of my power trays and enhancements in order to do a respec - a cheap and easy way I found to do so, as opposed to writing everything down beforehand. In the end, I just did the respec blind - thank goodness I have a good enough memory to remmber some of the more unique enhancement placements, and that there wern't too many to deal with.)
  22. Okay, so it's not just me here. That's (kind of) a relief. I thought something was wrong when I went into TR to log on my DP tester to try and test out my 'print screen' problem (details in another post) when I find my list of SG pads that were still on Freedom from 2+ years ago.

Yeah, I hope they reset as well.
  23. Okay, I just noticed this last night, but when I hit 'print screen' to capture a screen shot and then went to Paint and pasted, I ended up with a black screen - no matter if I clicked on 'paste' or hit ctrl+V. I tired to past in Word, and got the same thing, a black box. I tired using the print screen button outside of COH, and it worked fine, it just seems to be when I try to capture a screen shot ingame.

On my old system (XP) I could handle screen shots from COH fine, could it be that I'm now in Window's 7 - and using Win7's Paint program - that's causing the problem?

Sorry, I was looking at the box as I typed it - still have them nearby my desk here, need to get them in my closet soon - and was typing what I saw in large type. Yes, after reading the smaller type right next to it, you and I do indeed have the same vid card.

How's it playing for you? The big test that told me it was good was the first Rikti attack I was in the middle of, and didn't find myself staring at a very slow moving slide show.
  25. Well, I got an unusual message when I tried logging in. First, I did get the message that my vid card passed - nVidia ENGT220 - and I clicked on 'Quality', just to play it safe.

Then I try to log in, expecting to get the "You arn't allowed in closed beta right now." message. Instead, I got a "This account is expired." message. I only resubbed within the past half-hour, after the bank that handles my pre-paid Mastercard had a hiccup handling a payment from my regular bank. So I guess it's not just character copying that takes time to take on the test server.
