Another well found theme, B!
Though I started on this months theme already... I'm not liking how it is turning out.. so... I'll start over *giggles*. -
Points taken. Thanks for the feedback guys!
-
No worries LD!
But I won't be using that style again for F-Art again...as it apears not to be in the liking much. Or it's just the voters who can't handle a bare-chested Statesman *giggles*(I really thought I'd do alright this month...
).
Though I'll just use it for me, because it's fun.
*now goes off to a zoo with a friend and will continue her entrance for F-Art May after that, because she can really use the early bird points!*

Quote:*cheers* Atleast we'll have that then. Thanks! For those asking about conflicts with Trial global handle names: All trials global handles will be renamed to "Trial-[RANDOM STRING] once the global auth merge has completed.
@Comicsluvr: *blushes* Why thank you! I'm quite fond of my avatar aswell. And I have Christopher_Robin to thank for the drawing of it (and myself for colouring it)!
It's gonna be tricky to find a suitable time to play with my "friends across the pond" (and possible future "across the pond" friends)... but I'm sure we'll figure it out *giggles*. -
Hehehe. Yeah, I love the friendlyness of this battle too ^^. And I agree on not chasing away the novices.
But I also believe there should be basic ru...no.. guidelines. Yes, that's the right word.
Everyone needs guidelines.
As most of the people here doing art aswell, I'm guessing Liz plays on the US server. That would mean I'll have to wait till that merch *giggles* to do so.
-
First .. I want to say I'm very looking forward to the Global Server Access. Now I can also play with my American friends! (had to make a choice..so went for european because there would be more chance to run into friends due to the timezones).
But, I've been wondering...
I have a trial account on the American server. I never used it after trial ran out. Because I chose for the European server instead.
And I'm not planning to use it either. But... To keep things simple for myself.. I used the same name as my active European account, obviously, as many did.
So basically I'm kicking myself with that now! *pouts*
To my great surprise (not in a good way) I found out I cannot delete the non-active US trial account in any way. If there is some way, I would be very pleased if someone could explain it to me.
There should be a way to delete an account right?
I'm quite fond of my customs and aspecially my global name!
But for now, it looks like I can only hope I wasn't logged in as Darth Delicious last on the US server... am I right? *looks really sad*

Yay for Liz staying!
And to check if I'm getting this right here about the over-all rules...
I put in blue what I'm not certain of...
Rules:
All types of visual art are acceptable for this month's theme. Screenshot manipulations, sketches, graphic design, etc. So long as they incorporate this month's theme into the work.
Entering this year's F-Art contest can be done monthly up untill the eleminations start in June. But I suggest you start as soon as possible as you may have a disadvantage in points otherwise.
If you don't care about the points or winning.. just enter while you still can!
1. Use City of Heroes/Villains Characters- This is, afterall, a CoX Fan Art competition, so I expect you guys to keep that in mind. If there's nothing relating to City of Heroes/Villains in your entry, you will be disqualified.
2. Keep It PG-13- All entries this month must be postable to these boards without a 2 click.
3. Deadlines;
All entries MUST be submitted by [some date near end of the month]. Anyone participating who DOES NOT have an active account on these boards may note me via deviantArt at Bubbawheat.
Voting will begin by [some date near the end of the month], held here on the CoH boards and end at [date and time].
When a participant, for whatever reason enters his/her submission beyond the deadline, or not at all, before the elemination months start, there will be penaltly points involved for this participant.(read #10)
When the elimination months are active and a participant, for whatever reason enters his/her submission beyond the deadline, panelty points will be involved.(read #10)
When a participant, for whatever reason fails to enter his/her submission for the month he/she is eleminates automaticly unless he/she uses his/her points wisely (read #10).
The pieces that I put up for a vote have been personally verified by me, so if you disagree with their qualifications, please take it up with me rather than the artists.
4. There will be no eliminations until June. Each month artists will accumulate points that will be used to help avoid elimination, or grant other benefits.
8. Points;
Entry points: Artists gain 10 points each month where they submit a piece.
Early bird points: Artists gain an additional 2 points each month where they submit a "finished" piece before the 15th of the month. Finished pieces can still be modified, but any major additions after the 15th will negate the early bird points. Major additions include adding color, or adding an elaborate background.
Place points: After voting, each artist will gain points based on how they place in the final standings. 1st place gains 10 points (plus 2 bonus points for winning), 2nd gains 9, 3rd gains 8, etc. Ties each gain the amount of points for that place. Places after 10th gain 0 points.
Panelty points: When failing to submit or submitting a monthly piece late, before June, it will cost the artist 15 panelty points (read #10 for more info)
9. Prizes;
The artist with the most votes each month will receive 10 million inf sent to them through in game E-mail. The overall winner of the year will receive 50 million. Thanks to Draggynn for his donation to the prize fund.
(European players will have to wait untill the server-merch to get the price.)
10. Uses for points in the elimination months (these may be fine-tuned slightly before June):
5 points: Head Start - find out the next month's theme in advance.
15 points: A Little More Time - Allows an entry to be submitted and/or modified up to 2 days after the deadline. No adjustments will be made for any votes already cast if applicable.**
30 points: Overruled! - If your piece is judged as not being within theme, you can overrule the judgement and have your piece placed in the voting thread anyway (This cannot overrule rules #1 or #2)**
40 points: Immunity - Grants you immunity from elimination for that month - must be declared before voting begins, and can be declared in private. The top 3 based on votes cannot be eliminated due to a large number of immunity buys.
70 points: Saved - Also grants you immunity from elimination for that month but can be declared after voting is over. You can also declare it before voting begins to avoid elimination due to non-entry.
**These rules also count for the months before elemination starts.
This is my interpetation of the rules so far. Correct me if I'm wrong please?

Hi LD! Thanks! It's not my usual style..but I just wanted to do something different.
Oddly I can't seem to do it again *giggles*. I try, but keep ending up in my own style.
I'll just keep trying.
Bigger shapes to attrack less attention... *makes note* Good one!
Ooh yes.. I've been wondering who was behind that gorgeous hair! Thanks for pointing that out!
That truly is gorgeous! I have no other word for it! *goes to put ceruleanvii to her watchlist* -
In the mean time, FArt is continuing (don't forget to vote!) I suddenly felt inspired to start working on the next month theme "anonymous".
Like wished by many.... Mynx will be in it!
*waves*
DeeDee -
Yeah, RL can be annoying like that sometimes
Oh and just to be sure people don't understand me wrong... I think it's awesome there is more art added this month! Better late then never!
But as rules are being discussed.. I thought I'd put in my thought.
*waves* -
To keep this thread from becoming a discussion (makes the votes harder to count) I've responded in the submission thread.
And going back on topic...
This month is very tough to vote on!
1. Lousy Day (doggy looks ultra happy! *giggles*)
2. SyrusB / Liz (classic!)
3. Christopher_Robin (very nice composition!) -
Due to a discussion in the vote thread and, if I remember correctly it was wished that discussions wouldn't happen in vote-threads, I thought I'd continue it here
I don't mind people still entering the contest, because, let's face it, participants appear to be hard to get. I thought entering was set till June?
But I actually do think there should be a rule for entering submissions after the deadline.
Like, when you deliver after the deadline and the voting didn't end just yet, you'll get penalty points (like the early-bird rule, but the other way around).
But that's my opinion!
Carry on!
@Airhead: Lol! Sorry, I misread it then! *giggles*
Next month! Deal!

No puns with buns in this topic!
Oooh Airhead, don't lose courage! You're 4th sofar and that... really is a great accomplishment imo!
Like CR said.. "Hang in there."
I'll be looking forward to your piece for next month (maybe it helps if you don't check in untill you finished your piece?(check in on this topic I mean. I usually do that, to keep my head focussed on my own piece instead of wondering if it will be any good comparing to the others) It works!
*waves*
DeeDee -
*looks delighted* Even though there's still art missing the voting will be tough this month! Great work everyone!
-
offduty was a fun one!
I'm just a bit worried about the amount of participants now ... The deadline is like.... *really* close!
*hopes for the best* -
As I had a little time to spare before going to the zoo
.. I thought I'd put in a little work on a collab and I took CR's drawing which Ransim already did some good colouring on and as he won't work on it before tonight... I thought I'd give it a shot in the mean time
.
As I looked ad Tiwali's version of GQ, I noticed the bone headband (or what ever it isdoesn't actually go into her hair. So I think the grey area should become hair instead
Also worked on the lips.
Hope you like it!

Quote:Why am I not surprised *giggles* Bring it on!Looking good DD.
I do have some con/crit for you though.
Quote:The two little pink triangles in the inner corner of the eye (called the Plica semilunaris and the Lacrimal caruncle... yes they are really called that and no obviously I was not consulted) are there for the camera left eye but are missing from the right eye (in both of your images).
Quote:The interior detailing on the iris looks real nice but it should extend almost to the outer edge... i.e. you shouldn't have such a thick green border around it.
Quote:The white circular highlight you have is too dim if the sunglasses are missing (since the eye is always wet this should be a bright white on the naked eye) and if you are going to keep the sunglasses on and the dim highlight is a result of the light passing through the glasses then you need two white lens flares on the sunglasses to show this as well.
Quote:The eyelashes are too uniformly spaced. Left as is it's a visual cue that tells the viewer he should be looking straight on at the face while the rest of the visual cues say the face is turned thus creating conflict and an image that doesn't "read" right.
The lashes above need to be thicker at the base (shouldn't see skin) and thinner towards the tips.
The lashes under the eye need to be shorter thinner and much further apart and there should be a lot less of them (clear gaps separating the individual lashes going toward the inner eye)..
Thanks CR! -
Well..been busy busy drawing lately. Doing everything and nothing...and today I finally had some inspiration to work on Shikome's request a bit more.
Previous preview:
Second preview of Gray Hawk! (now with glasses (though glasses can come off)

*giggles* That sure is an odd sight for eyes!
And you're in time for the early bird points! -
cheers!
I've been getting the comments that Mr. Statesman should be blonde...
Which, imo, is odd because in my "research" he turned out to be dark-haired...
But... for those who think he should be blonde...
Personally, I'm gonna stick with the brown-haired Statesman.
