That is one awesome looking collection you've got sofar Comrade Hero! Gratz!
By the looks of it.. the wait will definitly be worth it -
Hahaha! This is fun stuff!
And it's free... there is no better way!
Obvioulsy I can't resist now... I'll give you two references... pick one.. or none if you like
First up: Cloudwatcher aka Jonathan Winchester. Works with fire and ice in his quite technical suit. He tries to be nice, but somehow always ends up being rude instead *giggles*.
And I can't pass on my main, Darth Delicious aka DeeDee, a blaster, Archery/Fire.
She's really sweet... a bit shy and tries to help where she can. Though one will not want to get in her way and make her angry!
*waves*

I see potential! This is looking really good for an first attempt!
You're doing a better job then my first attempt on a superhero! ->Have a look<-
Continue.. keep practising. You're good already, getting better is the only way!
Also.... you may want to check out the following...
Perhaps you would like someone, or several orther artists to maybe help you finish a drawing or parts of it, or have it coloured? Throw it in this thread and I'm sure someone will reply at some point.
Looking forward to seeing your next drawing!
*waves*

Oh! That ís a win!
Maybe you'll get lucky again!
-
This is looking really neat H! I love that car!
Can't help noticing though... it still needs glass in that window. -
I always say.. it never hurts to ask (the answer however is something totally different *giggles*
Good luck with the moval, Henri! (I've been through 11 allready (and by the looks of it.. I'm not yet done either)), so I know the chaos it can bring.
I hope you'll join the battle though. Remember, you have till March to do so.

Thanks Henri
. And I'm afraid Caemgen his interpretation is correct.
3D art, rendered in programs like DAZ Studio are not allowed (that is what you're getting at...right?). Afterall, it's a drawing contest.
Also I'd like this opportunity to mention that one of the prizes contains a one hour personal "one-on-one" tutorial/training on demoediting from the one and only Samuraiko!!.
With this an artist will be able to create reference scenes in CoH before making 'm into art! -
A reminder to those who are interested...
I'll be announcing the January theme on December 25th! -
Indeed Fireheart!
And so I did! Here's another preview. I'm not content with Neko's left ear settings just yet.. but I'll fix that some other time.
Till next time!
*waves* -
2012 is in sight and I made a start at the huge art project I mentioned here.
The Cat People Project in which I will draw atleast 10 known and less known cat people characters from City of Heroes.
Now I have collected more than enough references, thank you all so very much!
In this topic I will mention and preview updates on the project.
And here's the first preview!
The first that responded in the "looking for reference" topic was Sapphic Neko and I find her a good character to start with. This is what I have sofar.
I know, I know... she's not looking that well atm... but then again... this is not the end result! *giggles*

Oh Bubba! That's awesome. Thanks!
And I shall see to the small errors, cheers for that too.
I figured was clear about point gathering in the following part:
Quote:Points:
The points gathered from the votes can be used for the following options:
But to be more clear I added a couple of words in the "Votes" chapter:
"Votes are in a 1 2 3 system and there are points attached to them."
Will that do?
Also I changed the words aloud (I now see what I actually said *giggles*) to allowed in the basic rules 4 and 5.
And I noticed I was missing the links to a worldtimezone site in the copy of the rules and settings in the first post... added them and I updated the info on the link to the rules and settings.
Thanks Fireheart! -
Maybe instead of slow... you may want to try faster?
With me.. when I draw slow lines..they end up wibblywabbly, but when I put a little more speed to it it's less.
Also Henri's way sounds solid.

For those who are new to this concept, FArt Battle is short for Fan-Art Battle and is an art contest held for several years now on the City of Heroes boards.
The contest is held by a willing host and contains traditional and digital art, lineart, coloured, black and white, greyscaled, it's all valid art in this battle.
Every month will have winners, picked by the public of the forums in an assigned thread.
And there are some awesome prizes to win!
Each months will have it's own City of Heroes/Villains related theme for the artists to base their art on.
This theme will be announced by the host in a new thread.
Here is a thumbnail collage of all the entries of last 2011's top 3 finalists:
SyrusB aka Liz:
Christopher Robin:
Darth Delicious:
VIP players as well as Free players are allowed to participate in this battle.
Entering the Battle can be done until March 29th 2012.
Please read the full rules and settings.
Will you join the Battle? -
Bubba! It's been a while
(well.. atleast in this topic
)
I saw the chibi it is sooooo adorable!!
And that is some awesome looking commission!
The gloves look very impressive!
Maybe one day....they will become part of CoH...*sighs*
*waves*

Cheers Henri!
I'm aware of the gaussian blur option in PSP, but I must say I haven't tried it on my drawings. Though I did use it in photomanipulations and stuff.
Perhaps it's because I like doing things myself when it comes to drawing.
Though I love the whole digital art concept... I do prefer taking that brush and smudgetool and do what I can with just that. Digital Painting.. the old fashioned way *giggles*.
But I sure will have a go at it! As basically.. it might be saving time indeed.
Thanks for the tip!
And yeah... what CR said. Though I do think I'm quite actually silly loads of times... *giggles*.

Well! You're with luck Limedolly!
I decided I will half share my drawing secrets...so I will share it with my fellow City of Heroes artists here on the boards (so... no link to DA).
Now.. before I will give you the link to it, I will warn you that it's a big file. Also that my handwriting is poor and I send you all the best to figuring it out *giggles*.
Oh... and the tutorial is based on Paint Shop Pro 9 (and personally I work with a Wacom Intuos 3 drawing tablet).
Also, if you're gonna read it... thanks for taking the time and interest.
Copyright is on me...and... well... have fun!

Hahha sorry Dolly! Maybe next time
-
Someone is on the roll here! *giggles*
Looking very promising Henri!
Just wondering.. have you now given up on drawing? -
Henri is always clever!
@FoxRox: *hugs*
To make this tread about me again(no worries Fox), In the last 4 days I've been busy making a tutorial called "DeeDee's way of digital painting" explaining only how I paint the faces in "my style".
I'm still not sure if I'll publish it though.. I'd be giving away my 'secrets'!!
But I'm sure it comes in handy when my muse decides he doesn't know anything about drawing *giggles* -
Awww. You deserve vacationtime! Demand it! *shakes fist*
Also DAZ Studio 4 is for free atm. You should check it out. Just get it.. and worry about playing with it later -
Yeah, DAZ.com is where I got the program (for free even as they offered
)..and loads of other free stuff
.
You mentioned DAZ4 in your topic and I went to check it out.
So far I've been able to find the installed content. All about putting it in the right folder...as they said on the DAZ tut's and boards.
But I'll know where to find you when I get stuck! *cheers happily*
