For those of us who have been loudly lamenting the recent lack of developer input here on the forums, from Melissa Bianco's latest interview with Massively:

I've had my own theory for ages about how the mediport system works, and while I don't have ALL the text of Cooling's arc memorized, it almost seemed to work with it... which is that all 'registered' heroes (the immersion breaks here for villains, forgive me) have a small implant that monitors life signs (or equivalent for cyborgs/mechs/etc). This pings the mediport system on a regular basis, and should the life signs drop to zero, bam, the mediport kicks in.

For ME at least, it covers how in the comics (both sets), a place can be cut off from the mediport system (Protean blocks the signal so BAB can't be rescued, and I wanna say Malta hijacks the signal in the Blue King comic books to abduct heroes on their way to the hospital).

Problem is, it's longstanding canon that Primal Earth's mediport is based on Rikti tech... so... how did the Praetorians duplicate the same thing? (It may be that it's part of Cole's bargain with the Rikti - exchanging tech for supporting their continued assault on Primal Earth. As for how they could catastrophically use it? Well, now every metahuman is 'tagged' - a selective superweapon that could kill you during transport?)

And then of course, why would villains get the same perk? (It'd be a stretch, but Arachnos could provide it to its minions, while freelancers have gotten hold of Malta's hijacking signal and allow them to actually USE it to port to hospitals... Meh.)

Anyway, re: why not everyone has it - with the limited number of resources any hospital has, if EVERYONE had said implant, one large catastrophe could potentially overload the hospital beyond safety limits (even if rerouted to another zone's hospital). But providing it to the handicapped and elderly (or is it to children - I don't remember), okay, that might be feasible.

Dunno if that helps or not...

Ugh, when it comes to dates in this game's canon, it's like "roll dice for a date".

And if Ghost Widow can feel jealousy, longing, and whatnot, who says she can't feel love? I'd love to make a video shipping her and Scirocco to "The World is Not Enough" by Garbage.

Well, dear Dominatrix has apparently moved on from 'serving' her granddad to cheerfully screwing over poor Anti-Matter in every sense of the word and some besides to boost Neuron up the popularity ladder. WHY... I've no idea, unless she intends to pull the rug out from under him to watch him go tumbling down out of some sense of malicious entertainment.

And since when did Neuron become 'all that and a bag of chips'? He's got Bobcat mewling over him in Studio 55, Battle Maiden standing guard for him outside the Tower, and Domi stealing Anti-Matter's tech to give it to him. Neuron's tower really is like one big 40-story middle finger to Keyes over on Reactor Island...

No, these do not already exist.

However, when I did my "History in the Making" video, several people designed outfits for the original Freedom Phalanx, the Dream Doctor, the original Ajax, etc. I still have the demorecords of them, which you could probably use to reconstruct costume codes if necessary.

Bloodspeaker and I have not yet gotten around to having children (partly because we're not in a financial position to do it properly, and partly because, well, the world can barely handle us, let alone us combined via offspring). When we do, however, the kids will be raised properly as gamers. Cthulhu plushies, immediate members of Sister Flame's posse, baby shower registration at ThinkGeek, the works.

And the laptop is coming with me to the hospital, where I will be hosting a TF, and screaming over chat, "TO HELL WITH MY CHARACTER, *I* WANT 'DULL PAIN'!"

And at that time, I will be cheerfully begging for all the mom advice I can get from the ladies on the forums.

After almost four years, I still:

* forget to write down my powers and slots before a respec.
* have never installed Mids.
* have never played a Brute or a Tank past lvl 5.
* forget that just because I've mapped a zone on one character doesn't mean I've done it on all of them.
* set my inspiration tray the same way (greens, blues, red/yellow, orange/purples, wakes/breaks, small to large going from bottom to top)
* land my character Agent Tavarisch by Posi in Steel Canyon, sigh for a moment, then take off again every time she flies through the zone.

IIRC, States gave them bottles of wine from the Three Sisters Winery (read the WEB OF ARACHNOS novel for more info). This is apparently quite the gift, considering how potent this stuff is.

There, still, is a couple that mystifies me. I would have sooner paired SP with States than with Manticore (that whole ageless thing). Meh.

I have to chime in here, being married to Bloodspeaker... hearing him do Death Cootie's voiceover is absolutely hilarious, especially when he starts making hand gestures and sound effects to go with it. It gets even better when he starts doing this in a restaurant and patrons at surrounding tables start giving him weird looks.

(A rough approximation, btw, of Death Cootie's voice...)
