Quote:I think your guess on Giza being the Avilans reference is right (with the old forums gone and one of the other references not working right, we may never know). At first I thought it was a reference to Father Henri (because he finds something in Egypt that points him toward Mount Diablo), but that happened 'hundreds of years ago.'Adding a few more events with dates, but no sources, that I would like to be able to source:
1887 - Mysterious bones found near Giza, Egypt. (What is this referring to?)
1940s - The Council splits off from Arachnos.
Late 1940s - The original Arachnos founder, The Weaver, is killed by the Red Widow and Lord Recluse.
(Probably 2003, based on other events) - First sighting of Devouring Earth creatures.
*wonders if offering brownies to Protean would improve her chances of being allowed access to the official dev internal story wiki*

Quote:wiki.cohtitan.com, aka ParagonWiki.com - it is the closest thing to the canon bible that we as players have access to.Because they don't live in Arkansas?
Seriously though, I've obviously missed or forgotten some of the cannon. Is there a Wikki where I can go to fill in the pieces? I missed the Neni uplink fiasco entirely...A work in progress, contributed to by players as we go through the content.

Quote:Talk about feeling the earth move...I try to be creepy and people make an argument for why I'm right... Wow, did not expect that. Even if I still enjoy the prospect of my proposal.
Let's see if I can up the ante, then. Who'd like to see a Jim Temblor/Jane Temblor pairing? I know I would.

Quote:Yes, the show will go on. It has to - I just got sent the roughs of the art I commissioned for the cover of TCoSR II, so I need to finish that book at least.well you know what to do now, right? Go! The show must go on! (when reasonable).

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS INCREDIBLY STUPID. CONTINUE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK
Stupid is a (James Cameron's) Avater and Star Wars Crossover fic based around the idea that if a Na'vi Sith linked up to Eywah, it would turn all of Pandora into a planet of the Dark Side.
You know, all of a sudden, I don't feel so bad about my story. In fact, I feel downright optimistic.

Quote:*laughs*Michelle, I admire and respect your attempts to stay close to canon as possible, but at some point, any fan fiction author will, eventually be forced to break from it.
I believe you might recall a scene in Princess Tutu where Edel offers a jewel called 'Artistic License'? (at least I would assume you do since I recall a Princess tuTu music video on your page)
The simple point is that, no matter how well written, unless a series is over, it's impossible to remain 100% canon compliant.
I'll have to go back and rewatch that scene.(And yes, there's a PT video on my page - good catch!)
EDIT: BWAHAHAHAHA.
Duck: "Anyway, what's this gem called?"
Edel: "Hope."
Duck: "This one?"
Edel: "Adventure."
Duck: "And this one?"
Edel: "Mystery."
Duck: "Okaaaaayyy... what about this?"
Edel: "Author's bypass."
Duck: "Huh... strange name."
*sighs* And I know, I know. It's me being stupid.

Quote:Coz til now, I've TRIED to keep it as close to canon as possible. The fact that he was so blatantly unattached made it easy to write (and Synapse is the same way). Why kill it off your writing, even if Posi/Numi are a couple? o.O It's your own fan fiction, nothing can really stop you from writing it.
I *was* amused, however, when I logged in to the Devs' Ustream thing, that Zwillinger KNEW what I was going to ask about, and said, "I can neither confirm nor deny what might be implied."
Thanks a lot, Zwill.

First the Brigadier, now this...
The BBC has confirmed the passing of Elisabeth Sladen, best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in DOCTOR WHO and THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES. Information first appeared on Twitter, and was later confirmed by DOCTOR WHO MONTHLY magazine via their Twitter account.
DWMtweets: With great sadness, DWM must report the loss of our beloved Sarah Jane, actress Elisabeth Sladen. The best of best friends. Too, too sad.

Quote:Yep. I had pretty much declared COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE dead/permanent hiatus as a result of this little revelation until several folks pointed out that I should keep going. It was somewhat successful, some of us just took the potential double entendre and ran with it.
Ya gotta forgive Dark_Respite's literal interpretation. She probably came into this thread wondering precisely how such a development would affect her ongoing writing.

Time to die.
And I am game for giving this a try - if nothing else, with everyone else being disinclined to enter, it improves my chances of winning!
Is posting a Twitpic link for an image acceptable? That way it doesn't slow down the loading of the page, but it's accessible if folks want to see it...

Unrequited love is apparently a big thing in COH...
GW for Wretch, Scirocco for GW, Castillo for Doc Delilah (more like unrequited lust, probably), the Clockwork King for Penelope Yin, Anti-Matter for Dominatrix...

Very spiffy!

This was one of the monthly themes for a previous years FArt contest and I've always wanted to try one of these.
I wonder if something like this would have more impact if it were Lord Recluse's shadow (with the 8 spider legs) falling across Statesman's helm rather than his reflection.
Of course the real important question is who would play Sister Psyche and Ghost Widow.
It'd be really tempting to see another FArt contest devoted to that... and here's why...
Have a bunch of folks not only do the 'movie poster', but also design their 'synopsis' for an ad for said movie... and the contest winner's design and synopsis - I'll make into an actual ad (music and all).I love a challenge.

Actually, as strange as it sounds, I would love to hear the main COH theme done in MINOR keys. The 'we're heroes, and we've won, but God did it cost us...' kind of thing.

Screw that - if there's another wedding, I am TOTALLY holding out for Apex and War Witch.
Use the info from my above post, bring back WW, and let's hear wedding bells - the poor guy's waited five years.

Quote:Oh, hell - go one better than that. All the information exists in-canon to:I wonder is he intends to use his robot making skills to try and make a physical form for Numina? There are already a few examples in the game of a spirit or consciousness inhabiting a machine, and a project like that could be a perfect symbol of their relationship, merging sceince and magic.
a) genetically re-engineer a body, INCLUDING its original powers
b) transfer a soul from one host to another (including said genetically re-engineered body), or
c) bind a soul to a body
It's not that hard to imagine that someone as smart as Posi (especially with enough incentive) would put all the pieces together and VOILA, new body for Numina.

Interesting... Golden Girl has started a discussion thread about the Positron/Numina thing. It's proving interesting.
But yes... I think I will finish the TCoSR series (including book 3).

Quote:The more I think of it, the more I can see (in this case) it being the other way around... that Numina might have feelings for HIM, but they're not exactly requited (mainly because he's so oblivious about the whole romance thing). She refers to him as Raymond, but he calls her Numina, rather than Tammy...Which is why being in love with someone that's totally out of his league fits: He can gets the mopeyness without having to deal with an actual person.
Btw. I have a lot easier a time seeing Posi>Numina than Posi/Numina.
And it's possible that the 'love' that frees her is her own for him, rather than his for her.
Meh. After going back and re-reading ALL of the Top Cow comics in one go, I still don't have a handle on her, other than her being the resident healer and mystic of the group.
