Well, at least now I can wrap up this particular arc, and then get started on the next one. Granted, all is not going to be well between our heroes after this... not to mention what happens when Vanguard assesses the data they've brought back.

Glad I was able to help, both by throwing some work your way and helping out with Hami footage!
Great job on the video, I'm sure the CHROME gang was pleased!

Probably so, F_W, I 6-slotted taking something from a different PoV than it was intended.

See, Positron DOES pay attention to things. Granted, in this case, it was very much a "what the hell did he just say?!" thing, but he does pay attention. And he even took notes!
Which means Posi was either a total geek in high school/college, or he learned way early on that smart gamers always write down weird stuff the GM says so you can call him/her out on it later.

Samuraiko, you played a DnD campaign with Posi, and didn't realize until now that he 'might have been a geek' in high school?

I confess to being one of the few dev fangirls who does NOT rabidly seek out every detail of the developers' personal lives. Matt may well have been a gaming geek in high school, but I didn't ask him that during his gaming session (I was too busy fangirling over Sean Fish, to tell the truth).
That reminds me... D&D session tonight!

No, no, no. The accolade should, quite simply, be called "Badge [censored]."

Though I think I lost quite a bit of my readership thanks to that heinously long gap I put them through...Oh, well, no one's fault but my own, I suppose.

Damn... doesn't quite flow like Type R Server Guy does.

Durakken, you can build your own 'green room' inside your base with Leandro's Splasher program. It's how I made an all-white room for Johanna to walk through at the start of my Issue 14 teaser, and how I greenscreened her to drop her into four separate maps that had been overlaid with a filter to make them look like blueprints.
It won't be exactly perfect, thanks to base geometry, but with a bit of cautious camera work, you can still manage circles and sweeps around your character.
As for the debate as to whether this is useful? Well, I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet that my 'fanflick' videos have gone a long way for recruiting new players into this game, bringing old players back, and keeping existing players interested.
So kindly don't knock someone else's creative interests just because you don't find it useful in your badge hunting.
BTW, Memphis_Bill, valid reason for in-game demorecording? I've demorecorded at least two dozen separate animation/map glitches to send to GM support when stuff has gone wrong with the game. It's a rather valuable tool because then the support guys can play it back and see exactly what I'm seeing.

Ghost Widow wishes to remain anonymous. So, I'll never out him or her. And I hope everyone else respects his or her wish on this.
I'm not even going to say who's dating whom.

Bah, liar. We all know that the devs have no such thing as a social life (except for SexyJay), and any notion of a longterm relationship with anything other than No-Doz, Slim Jims, Hot Pockets, Doritos, and Red Bull is pure fabrication.

When I was writing "The Sword of the Soul" over on FanFiction.net, there were two factions in my readership - the ones who loved my cliffhangers, and the ones who wanted to throw ME off the cliffs.
What can I say? I like drama, and I tend to think in story arcs rather than individual 'episodes'.

Bonus points for the L5R reference! (And would you believe in that in Bloodspeaker's campaign, Yakamo was actually one of my character's suitors? They'd have actually made a good pair...)

I wonder if rogue-Positron has been standing in Steel Canyon for a while now. He looks so creepy with his helmet off. I saw some children crying as they walk by him.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wish I could remember offhand when it was (fairly recently, I think), when there was a Rikti invasion in Steel, and of course Posi stands there and does nothing, and when it's all over and things calm down, someone who apparently hadn't been on the game since before I-10 goes, "Oh wow, there really is someone in there!"
"Yes," several of us chime in, "he got control over his powers and now can take his helmet off."
To which the returnee responds with, "Hey, have we got an Ice blaster around here? Screw using your powers to put out the Hellion fires, how about dumping some ice down the back of his armor and let's see him try and scramble out of it!"

And in today's economy, they are certainly not going to reallocate funds from necessary positions intended to help boost the game's performance and playability just to have someone like me making videos for them, no matter how cool the playerbase thinks my work might be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Especially when you'll do it for them for FREE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, not anymore, as I announced prior to the release of I-14 that I was retiring from making promotional videos for CoH. The 5th anniversary commemorative video was the last one. I'll still be making music videos and such, but no more teasers and trailers for issues, expansions, etc.
Now it's all in the hands of Paragon Studios and/or whoever they commission to make stuff.

To: Steele_Magnolia, Steeple, and Human_Being, and everyone else who's openly wondered why the Powers That Be have not hired me.
It's because Paragon Studios already HAS a videographer (whom I've met, and who's a hell of a nice guy), and a full creative team working under him. David has the necessary qualifications. He and his team did a great job with their I-14 video (not the Captain Dynamic thing, that was Rooster Teeth). I'm not sure if his team also did the Going Rogue video, but if they did, more power to them, coz that kicked major a**.
Therefore, they do not need me.
And in today's economy, they are certainly not going to reallocate funds from necessary positions intended to help boost the game's performance and playability just to have someone like me making videos for them, no matter how cool the playerbase thinks my work might be.
I wish to God it were otherwise, but it's not.

It's not FRAPS that does that. Your best bet is to demorecord in-game, then play it back using Zloth's demo launcher (with it set to remove the heads up display), and THEN FRAPS. Also less lag on your game as a result.
Go here and download my Toons on Film PDF (upper right corner) on how to demorecord and it will tell you everything you need to know. It's really easy.

If you keep modifying the costume code of the character during the demofile, then yeah, you'd be able to do that. Unless you found a shortcut, in which case I'd love to hear it.
